yea, I hope they don't change a thing on DD. Those Red and white tents outside the castle are most likey some queue, but I LOVE the DD outdoor queue the way it is. Even if they never use it. Just turn it into the Forbidden Forest. I mean in Goblet of Fire, they did hide the dragons in cages inside the Forbidden Forest. I just hope they don't do something dumb. Coming from Universal, it shouldn't be.

I've got another I forgot about. I waited 3 hours for Jurassic Park River Adventure on the bonus day at IOA for Coaster Con 29. It was horrible weather for 1/2 the day so we just chose to get in line for this because it offered some good shelter from the storm. And we could see outside so we could judge when the storm would stop or not.

Kingda Ka Closed for Maintenance

it's my home park and I don't care. You can still have an awesome day without Ka. Looks like us ACE'ers made it just in time for the preservation Conference. Many made the trip for just Ka and Toro. -

The ride that seems to always rack up the longest lines for me is the Motion Simulator. I got peeps to wait 147 mins. Basically 3 hours. Just add queue line TV's. They never leave for me if I stick TV's on every spot of queue. -

Sorry for this late post. Here are the pics. There's a zoomed out view. OMG! It's a train! But, ummmm, It's stalled. Yea, looks like bad luck for this ride. -

Sorry i didn't post this earlier. I had to go home yesterday from Coaster Con even though they were off to go to Holiday World the next day and it was a 10 hour drive back to NJ so updating this was not on my mind. But i didn't leave w/o going on top of the Eiffel Tower again. Guess what I spotted! A train was stalled 1/2 way through the helix at the top of that hill. I have pics. I will post them soon. -

Yea. Full Train in the station by this afternoon. A bunch of the park reps who are with us for the Coaster Con said they had no clue when it would be ready. All they knew is that it would open this season. With this new status though after a long time of just sitting there, it seems that a July opening is possible if everything goes smoothly and they have a 2nd train sometime soon. -

Well I'm here at Coaster Con XXX (30) and today I was on my way over to Top Gun taking some videos when I saw people working on the SOB for once. When I got off the ride and was taking more awesome videos from the exit path I noticed a crane in the tranfer area and a bunch of people working. Well I waited 5 more mins and low and behold, the front car of a train was pushed to the front of the tranfer track! I've heard they've been waiting on trains for a while, and I guess this is exciting news since its been down forever. Here are a couple of pics! -

There seems to be a lot of stuff in the Video that didn't make it. - A head chopper right out of the drop by a coal machine - A head chopper entering the 1st canyon by a rock arch - In the 1st Canyon, the walls extend further past the s-curve instead of just before it heading into the 1st airtime hill - A canyon with multiple head choppers by mining beams before the horseshoe - A fountain in the horseshoe roll pond - A headchopper again heading into the now s-curve after the launch by a rock arch on the canyon walls. All that stuff I think would've made this ride immensely more exciting. I guess CP doesn't like a lot of headchoppers on 1 ride. haha. -
is it just me, or does the landscaping suck. Not suck, but just looks not that great. There seems to be a fair amount of rock/gravel. And why not actually put in some grass areas. I'm sure it'll grow in sometime. Great pics though

Favorite ride queue lines
awclark replied to tsmcdon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best - Dueling Dragons (Truly awe inpsiring) - Indiana Jones (really immerses you) - X (I like it because it's shaded and it gives you some neat views from Viper) - KK (The old queue was better, but it still gives off the feeling of a cool jungle while they play the jungle music) Worst - TTD (the worst sets of switchbacks ever. Theres nothing to look at except those signs you read 50x before you get to the next one) - RnRC (SO hot outside in those boring switchbacks) - Wild Mouse Dorney Park (the SLOWEST moving line ever. Slower than X before its awesome crew. A car built for 4 people isn't meant for 2 for EVERY car that is dispatched. 1 hour to go through approx 100 people.) -

I still think Mine Mountain could make a triumphant return. For all the fans sake. This park is amzing though. You've put so much work into this. Can't wait to see wait kind of coaster you add next (or what you remove next. haha) -
Flashback could work in Psyclones old spot. They just have to overhaul and repaint the track, get new trains, and give a glimpse of a theme to it. Maybe even rename it as well. If they really wanted to if they relocating it to somewhere else, is to fill the track with sand in the process to cut back on some noise. I don't think that's possible though. B&M hyper trains would be sweet on that ride.

^ those blue things are the sunshades, but yes that is the queue. Anyway, let's get back on topic. I guess I sort of started a tangent here. I want to know the suprise they have in the tunnel. I think fog would be awesome. Like having the entire tunnel engulfed in fog so that you could not anticipate the launch. -

Raptor's queue does suck to wait in when it's full. It was about 3/4 filled when i went back in '05. I don't think Maverick will have the largest queue, but it will be somewhat big. Queue wise, I think Mean Streak or MF are the longest. In the photo of Mean Streak's queue below, you enter go under the track, go through 1 switchback, then through 3 massive switchbacks and then it seems like a 1/4 mile walk to the station. That seems like it could hold a 3 to 4 hour line. MF's queue is just like 6 to 8 switchback areas it seems all crammed into that one area. -

^^ Look at previous updates. That's just the queue house. There is still the old WWL outdoor queue with a few switchbacks. Cedar Point never puts in a small queue area. They are the king of huge queues (well maybe IOA supasses them with redundantly long queues and at least 3 overflow areas per ride). Look at Magnum and Mantis and especially Raptor, MF, TTD, and Mean Streak. Those queues are huge! (they always go by quickly though Plus this ride appeals to a much larger crowd because of the lower height limit. It's a huge, thrilling, and fun attraction for everyone 48" and up. I doubt the queue will ever be empty this summer. -
Wasn't there a Busch Gardens out in LA at one point a long time ago (or somewhere out there)? Also from a LONG time ago, a park that practically nobody would know about, but was in an issue of "Roller Coaster!" magazine. It was Legend City in Scottsdale, AZ.

Ha! With $700mil being dumped into rehab and new attractions, they could dump some of that money into a rehab of The Dragon. Ya know, repaint, clean up..... maybe new trains perhaps, maybe, possibly. Or at least ones with NO OTSR!
