  1. Here are a couple new ones of me Myself and the bff celebrating her 22nd B-day We were asked to give our "serious" faces A couple friends and myself out at a bar in Hwood
  2. I rode Chiller back in it's OTSR days, but with the gigantic extra padding there. It was bad, but I'm sure not FOF circa 1996 bad. But I dunno, I've ridden the FOF rides and even with the lapbar, still got jerked around quite a bit. Same with Chiller. Part of me thinks it was premiers track engineering/design at the time that contributed to the roughness and the restraints just amplified it to the EXTREME! Even if it were the trains themselves that sucked as well, that was all back in 1996-1999. It's now been nearly 15 YEARS since so I THINK they would have learned a few things and improved their design/engineering/technology since then. In my experience on the GIB's though, and yes even with them being Vekoma, I always had a decently smooth ride on them and never had to brace myself, so for Premier to design a new train and then to have it all of a sudden become unrideable and horrificly rough simply because of the restraint system that they're implementing when the 1st gen Vekoma GIB had an even bulkier OTSR with next to no soft padding seems a little drastic, mellow dramatic, and unrealistic to me.
  3. If a Colossus remodel is on the horizon, I'd just be happy if it was retro-fitted into an airtime monster. If it's 1 thing that SFMM lacks, its a coaster that is airtime focused. Yes, Goliath is a hyper, but in terms of airtime, it pretty much fails with only 1 decent moment. In fact, the west coast in general just lacks a decent airtime machine. To me a Colossus remodel would be fantastic and if it does go down the NTAG path, then it would for sure breathe some life into that otherwise "dead zone" of the park. With Deja Vu and Log Jammer opening up some decent patches of space and aging rides in need of a makeover/remodel/upgrade, it'll be interesting to see what happens.
  4. ROFL at this entire Log Jammer debacle. I just don't understand all the b*tching. Old rides get ripped out, new state of the art ones get put in. Plane and simple. Anyone who thinks any ride is going to last forever is a moron. I'm just LOL'ing at the recent history of rides getting torn out. NO ONE talks about them at ALL until they are announced to be on the chopping block and only THEN does everyone start to b*tch and moan for some reason this doesn't surprise me at all. How is there this much debate over a friggin' log flume leaving?! Most of the rides utilizing the terrain are getting outdated anyway and losing their appeal and/or pull. Ninja, Goldrusher, Jetstream, Revolution, and Log Jammer, while all great and classic attractions, the time before each one of them is on the chopping block is ticking. Thinking from a maintenance, engineering, and business perspective replacing the old with the new is smart on every aspect. Just wait until the day Revolution is removed... GAWD! I can't even fathom...
  5. Me just this past Saturday Oct. 29th at Insomniac Events "Escape From Wonderland" electronic music festival/rave held out in San Bernardino, CA. The event sold out with 46,000 in attendance and it was 10 monstrous hours of pure haunted debauchery dancing raging pounding MADNESS!! It's after the sun went down that my costume really "flashed". I wove Purple and Aqua strobing EL wire into my tank top and my white fur boots flashed with blue LED's. I was hard to miss. Happy Halloween everyone!
  6. It's an icy situation and and coming out to a parent or parents is by FAR the most difficult hurdle in the coming out process, at least in my experience it was. In terms of courage, it was the hardest thing I've had to do personally in my 22 years. I've had it extremely lucky compared to others though and all the disastrous scenarios that I thought would go down, never happened (Which kind of annoyed me a bit lol). My mom and sister were totally chill with it and are completely accepting of it (especially my sister). Now my dad... it was a full YEAR between the time when I had came out to my mom to when I came out to my dad. His family can be quick to judge and opinionated and have often run into slippery situations with them that made me more scared about what he would think. Just from my experience with a situation that you may fear to not go over very well, I found it important to do a lot of planning. Just to avoid a bad situation, I chose to meet him for dinner at a BUSY noisy restaurant so the potentiality of causing an embarassing scene would not happen with so many people around. At worst he would just throw some awful comments and walk out, which is what I was expecting. I made sure to make up an excuse for us to go in separate cars so that if something did go down, I wasn't ditched by him speeding off in a worst case scenario or I didn't have to endure a car ride home with him. Having a way out is important. Most importantly is to NOT come out to your parents out of anger. That is a big no-no and makes it seem like you are just trying to spite them and has the potential to even worsen the situation which is not what you want. At least with my dad, none of the disasters I thought would happen actually happened. He said he kinda had an idea, but he is still VERY ignorant and judging on the topic. He thinks gays are always single and never find true love, he thinks its a choice, blah blah blah. I just deal with it though. My dad's pretty combative and I don't want to waste my energy arguing with him unless its absolutely necessary. Just my philosophy on coming out..... if it took me 19 to 20 YEARS to become comfortable with myself and come out, I absolutely should NOT expect my parents, family, or anyone else to become comfortable with it in 19 to 20 SECONDS after stating "Im gay". Hearing heart wrenching horror stories from others just makes me feel that much luckier that none of it happened to me.
  7. Nadia Ali at Vangaurd in Hollywood last night. She was absolutely stunning live and performed all of her great hits. Quick Facts: She was the voice for for the group 'iiO' way back 10 years which had such hits like 'Rapture' and 'At The End'. She's since gone solo and has collaborated with and provided her vocals for some of the worlds top electronic artists including 2x with the #1 DJ in the world Armin Van Buuren. Next up: Audiotistic Festival in San Bernardino, CA next saturday!
  8. Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. In all of my 4 years of going to "raves" or electronic music festivals, this may have just been THE best one I've been to yet. Epic is an understatement.
  9. A few pics of me at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas that was last weekend (June 24, 25, and 26). My best friend and I on the 1st day of EDC All of us on the last day of the festival All of us chilling out for a hot minute on the last day of EDC
  10. Just got back from the park and finally had the chance to ride Green Lantern I've had a case of bad luck where I showed up friday with it already broken, but opted to wait in line anyway, 2 hours later and endless amounts of people bailing to the point where I was near the front, officials told us it'd be at LEAST 3-5 hours until they could fix it. They handed out exit passes though good for any ride in the park so I opted for that and went and rode the revamped Superman which I had yet to ride and found to be quite a bit of fun. So with nothing to do this 4th of July weekend, I showed up today around 6pm got in line with it working. waited 1.5 hours and it broke. Waited another 1.5 hours and I was now at the entrance to the building where they weren't letting anyone enter. So now after 3 hours of waiting (now 9pm) and chatting with various people there were only 8 of us in line. The park told us "loyal and determined guests" that would give us exit passes good for any ride, but also took down our names so that in case it did open, we could show up at the exit and walk right up to the ride. Well I went and rode X2, came back and its now 9:50pm and the parks closing in 10 mins, BUT GL was doing test runs and sure enough 2 mins before closing they said it would open and allowed all the of the "loyal" waiters who returned to be the first to ride. One official sympathized with me for my bad luck for getting on this thing, but I told her it was all good and I didn't mind. I'm not really one to get miffed in situations like these because it's out of my control. I think the park handled the situations very well so I was quite happy even though I waited a total of 6 hours over both visits to get in 1 ride. Overall the ride was fantastic and extremely..... weird. haha. It was over before I even knew what happened and I didn't even know WHAT was happening during it. It wasn't ridiculous spinning, but the forces were so odd that I couldn't help but laugh the whole ride for just its shear insanity. I did flip twice during the bottom half of the ride which was fun.
  11. hahahaha. I'm a total music festival/rave aficionado. Try to hit up every major one in the SoCal area each year. Nocturnal Festival, Monster Massive, Together As One, Beyond Wonderland, Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, and then also any time a major DJ/Producer comes to town to play at a club, I'll be there too. haha
  12. Yea Coachella was sooooo epic. Easily the best music festival I've ever been to. Just wow... the experience goes so far beyond just the artists and music. I loved checking out all the art and of course meeting new people! Already bought my 2012 Pass w/ Car Camping Anyways.... Here's one my friend took of me literally just last night. My friend and I are going to the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas in a week and a half so she wanted to see the outfit I've put together for 1 out of 3 of the days of the festival. Just a little background is that I have been going to all of these SoCal massives, or raves, whatever you want to call them, for almost 3 years now so I get really into costumes or outfits and such. Example being that I wore my german Lederhosen to EDC last year at the LA Coliseum. Stunna!!! haha. My outfit for 1 out of the 3 days of the festival. And for those wondering, I did make that beaded cuff on my arm
  13. I had the whole gay rumor thing start with me in 6th grade because yup, I mainly hung out with girls and just didn't really relate to any of the guys in my grade at the time except for maybe like 2-3 of em. Lots of bullying throughout then and much of my high school years at a boarding prep school. And yup, I did go through the phase of defending myself.... to the point of going out of my way to get girlfriends and such because I just couldn't POSSIBLY let anyone believing the rumors to be right! hahahaha. Such a waste of time on my part lol. Now wrapping up the past 3 years of college in a sentence... I came here to LA from New Jersey in 2008, figured some stuff out, finally became comfortable with myself, slowly came out over the past year or 2 (yup, it took a move of 2500 miles to get comfortable with myself and come out LOL), and now everything is fine and all my friends here in LA are completely chill with it. But yea so anyways... relationships. Got out of a relationship in December with someone who was a really bad influence. Have been single since, but I do have a potential relationship thats kinda brewing... maybe. We both have a passion for electronic music (my main obsession is Trance. LOVE IT), and then I was also surprised he actually knew a little about theme parks too. I dunno we''ll see where it goes. Just thought I'd share.
  14. Here are some pics of me. Found this oldie of me. I was a push-up pop hoe back then. All up in Dad's hair. This was when I was getting ready to go see Markus Schulz drop some beats for my friends 21st at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas back in February. Went as the "King of Diamonds" to the EDM festival 'Beyond Wonderland' in March. Coachella 2011
  15. Recently did the same on my Facebook account. Weeded out all the jerks, "How do I know you in the 1st place?" people, and people I simply don't talk to anymore. Anyways, I love this site for getting industry and construction updates quickly. It's my 'go-to' website for discussions and updates and I realize and respect the hard work that goes into it. I find it sad that people get so butt-hurt on the internet so quickly nowadays though. Everyones entitled to their own opinions, but there's no reason to go out of ones way to chastise someone when they clearly are the ones at fault. Seems like people can't take criticism and blame that much anymore. When someone on here smears someone for making idiotic comments, they deserve it in my opinion. All it takes is a little thing called a "forum search", scrolling through previous thread pages to find your answer before posting, or learning to take criticism. I believe in effective discussion forums, not ones full of "me too", "let me doubt your opinion for the millionth time", and "let me resurrect a 'case closed' subject within a thread" posts. I'm not just talking about this forum though, but of them all. Which brings me to the point that I find it also extremely sad that there's a thread on another website dedicated for $hitting all over the way how the boss handles this one. They're trying to smear someone who they claim is an a$$hole, when really they are all just hypocrites and proving to everyone else that they are the pathetic a$$hats by talking smack. I agree for getting rid of the negative people on here. Certain websites aren't for everyone and certainly everyone is not going to agree with one another and get along. Don't like the way a site is handled or run? Don't visit it. While I may not agree with certain posts and such on here or other forums, I certainly won't go out of my way to reign a hell fire on that certain someone I have a disagreement with. I generally just keep to myself and avoid the pointless drama. Hell, I haven't even posted on here in months! Over the years though I've seen this website evolve from just another roller coaster website on the internet into an entire community and business. That's hard work and I think credit's due where credit's due. phew... okay there's my opinion.
  16. Here are 2 of me this past September at the Nocturnal Festival in San Bernardino, CA. Myself and my friend Michaela Managed to run into one of the hired photographers for the event who snapped this photo of Michaela, our 2 other friends, and myself.
  17. Here are some recent ones of me This is me recently at the Electric Daisy Carnival in LA. I'm a massive Trance music fan so I go to a ton of electronic festivals/raves. Got all the Kandi, lightshow gloves, and all that good stuff. Me with my lightshow gloves so sinister. my friend and I decided to get a little artsy with my lightshow gloves and this is what came out of it. I recently was studying abroad in Germany for 5 weeks and this was one of our first nights out. I'm the one highest up in the picture in the back. Since we were staying with host-family's in Bonn, Germany... I couldn't help but take the short 15 min train ride to Bruhl and go to Phantasialand! That's me and my friend on one of the rides there.
  18. I'm a massive electronic music fan. Trance is what I truly listen to mostly. I go to college in LA and have been attending the "socal massives"/raves/electronic music festivals ever since. I'm from Jersey, so some I regretfully missed out on. Most depressing was missing out on Together As One on NYE 2008/2009 as it was Armin Van Buuren's special Armin Only: Imagine 9 hour performance. Guess I'll have to catch one of his next upcoming Armin Only: Mirage performances this coming year. Seeing as I've never posted in this thread, the last concerts I attended were in order: - Monster Massive 2008 - Nocturnal Festival 2009 - Monster Massive 2009 - Tiësto @ The Shrine Auditorium - Together As One NYE 2009/2010 - Beyond Wonderland 2010 and of course, most recently, both days of the "Electric Daisy Carnival" 2010. EDC literally BLEW me away! (my avatar is me at EDC) Next up is Nocturnal 2010, Monster Massive 2010, Tiësto @ LA Convention Center, and TAO 2010/2011. It's hard balancing all of these with my engineering major, but SO worth it!
  19. Haven't posted here in a while but anyways, here's a couple recent ones of me. Me at Nocturnal.... which was legendary BTW. My friend and I at Nocturnal Festival in San Bernardino, CA this past weekend. My friend and I walking back to campus.
  20. Thought I'd give an update with some facts and details. The ride is in the testing phase right now. So far, so good. Just a minor glitch that was quickly corrected. Also I recently ran a ride cycle test to make sure no stacking occurs and no train gets stopped on one block because the other has yet to clear the next one (ie. it would only happen on this ride at the top of the lift). All of that checks out good. I also ran the cycle test to calculate a theoretical hourly capacity as well. I tried to get the cycle time realistic to what happens in actual parks. Ie, the train sits in the station longer than a 'perfect load time' because in the real world, you have slow loaders, slow exiters, people who can't fit, people who are too short, and people with loose articles, so I tried to find a medium between all those to get a realistic time and I think I have it. Anyways, after running the test, the number I have is right around 1200pph, which I think is pretty decent considering there is no stacking and we 'are' dealing with a Vekoma Flyer here which have all been notorious for slow loading. Well, testing should be done somewhat soon so hopefully I'm looking at a late-September to mid-October release date. Nothing is set in stone though.
  21. Here is the DF '98 POV. Personally, I like this video much better than the '92 POV. I think the music syncs up much better during the POV part and overall I like the editing and music more. Enjoy!
  22. ^I actually found it almost by accident. I went to nolimitscoaster.de and went to the latest news to see if there was an update on NL2 and the latest one is that a new exchange website opened I 'think' the reason being in light of CS shutting down. I believe it is just "nolimits-exchange.com"
  23. Well for all the reviews I've received for my coasters, I read them all. If one is all praise, then cool. If any one review has something said that they didn't like that I myself didn't personally notice, then I go to where they say they didn't like it and validate it. Most if not all the time, it's valid criticism. I know I'm not going to please everyone. I really don't care if someone's mean or not in their review. It's not like I'm all that crushed if the reviews aren't what I expected. While yea, sometimes I think people need to chill out. I set out to create an experience and yea, you can nitpick all you want and the review can come out mostly negative, but you can't sit there and tell me you didn't at least enjoy it a little. I care more about just making a fun realistic experience. While I love making the tracks, the themeing and scenery is always in the back of my mind on how it's going to interact with the surroundings. My favorite part of making these things is seeing all the themeing slowly come together and watch my vision come to life. My goal with every project is to just create a fun ride that's unique, immersive, and thrilling. Someone could give me a 2.5 rating on one of my rides for all I care. Being happy with what I created is all I really care about. ^^ And I did recently sign up for the new NL exchange site, but thanks for the suggestion.
