  1. I'm sure it's not. As you look even closer, those aren't exactly the Giovanola track's shape.
  2. The hydraulic acceleration makes it feel so intense!
  3. Some Chinese parks were still doing that in 2012, quite humorous. Surprising to hear it happening at the most Westernized park (outside of HKDL) I know Chimelong only do that on some flat rides, but waiting for 2 minutes is already bad enough. Happy Valley takes forever to dispatch one train thanks to their weirdest process ever.
  4. Now I'm really happy for not having an Expedition GeForce clone.
  5. I think it's fun, but it can be much more intense than how it runs. Also the OTSR are pretty uncomfortable for hanging upside down. I still think the best flat ride at Ocean Park is the HUSS Enterprise.
  6. They've started taking photos while you are sitting in the station on Hair Raiser for you to buy at the end. Row by row. So after the restraint is locked a photographer takes a photo of the entire row or part of the row. Yeah, let's just wait while you take a photo when you could have dispatched the train 3 minutes ago. And it's even more annoying that I would have to smile and pretend I'm having the time of my life in case the people next to me want to buy that photo.
  7. This is the headquarter of Phoenix Television corp. pretty awesome to work under those"track" right? This reminds me of Flash Back. From the distance, it looks like a Nest rip-off But as you get closer... Coaster track!!!
  8. Mine is a tie between Invert and Floorless. Until I ride Kumba and Dragon Khan.
  9. Can't believe I'm saying this but Ocean Park was definitely worse than SFMM this August.
  10. Would it work if they install the seat belt to the side of the lap bar? Kind of like Wicked Twister's. I think that would improve the capacity a bit.
  11. T3 looks good when standing close up to it but as you go farther from it... I just noticed how many family/kiddie coasters are using single color paint jobs!
  12. Enterprise, Zipper, drop towers, combo shot, gyro swing/giant frisbee are all my favorites. I think drop towers win for airtime.
  13. Agree. You may get your wish. The coaster was posted for sale online a month or two ago but is no longer listed. They are too embarrassed do even sell that piece of cr@p
  14. Just... why? They get a free Boomerang, the boss probably didn't know what he/she got himself/herself into.
  15. Ok people, I finally found out why Lewa dropped from owning a huge amount of promising coasters to a knock-off collector. This is surely the most shameless thing I've ever heard of in my entire life. It would be great if someone can clarify if it's true. Lewa originally bought a real Vekoma Boomerang and started building it, Shibaolai contacted them and said they would like to buy that Boomerang from Lewa and give Lewa a Shibaolai Boomerang for free. Lewa agreed with this so what stands in the park now is the park's second Boomerang. After Shibaolai did every dirty thing to the real Boomerang, they sold it to Fantawild. I really feel sorry for Vekoma, they were trapped by this trade, I hope they can get the justice they deserves. This case probably explains why those Intamin, Maurer, Mack projects were cancelled, they might realized there is something wrong. If this is indeed real, I sincerely wish every quality manufacturer stay from Lewa Happy World as far as possible. Your hard work deserves much better than that. As for me, this park is dead to me.
  16. How do you calculate the coaster's capacity? This is what I do with my designs and I'm not sure if it's correct: 3600/time between two dispatches of the same train•number of trains•number of riders per train.
  17. ^ Really? On a discussion with a lot of Chinese water park CEOs, I heard they say ProSlide and White Water are dominant companies in Chinese market because of the low price and the quality. Even the knock-off companies can't compete with them on price, not to mention some of them actually hurt the test slider before the ride opens. They also complaint about the lack of water ride diversity. Congrats to White Water, hopefully we can see the push something new to the market.
  18. Both Chimelong hotels are very good. I think the two of them can make a chain right? Hilton might be the one I like the most outside of Chimelong, Drury is pretty good as well.
  19. That SLC is the prototype at Shijingshan Park, I guess even the most shock resistant train can't take that much torture so they turned the initial Zero G Bang and Inline Knock elements into an Airtime Quake and an Inline Bump. I don't think Shibaolai built a Volare knock-off, that's a real Zamperla turture machine.
  20. I think Riddler's Revenge is the best stand up coaster in the world, keeping it as it is and let Scream get all rusty and forgotten is better. The world needs at least one decent stand up coaster.
  21. First was Parrot Coaster when it was still FOTR, last was Hair Raiser. They were both very rough. Wish I can end my 2014 season with a better coaster.
  22. ^ I think Canton area has more foreign tourists compared to Beijing area. HK, Guangzhou, Macau and Shenzhen are very international cities. Maybe there isn't a Great Wall or Forbidden City and Universal Studios Guangzhou sounds not as "world wide" as Universal Studios Beijing, the tourism market is more mature IMO. Besides, I think China can hold multiple Universal Studios parks, let's just see how USB turns out.
  23. ^ Chinese people don't travel around the country for parks as much as Americans. Japan and Singapore are not big enough for this case. The park visitors are mostly locals with Ocean Park and HK Disneyland being the two exceptions. Not to mention Beijing's air pollution is scaring a very big amount of Chinese people away.
  24. First one was installed in North Korea a year or 2 ago. Its so weird that Zamperla seems to built up a good relationship with North Korea. They business department really is a great group of people. I mean North Korea started to use Volare to torture people, that's a move with great international cooperating significance!
  25. I don't understand why they didn't choose Canton area. Population is much bigger than Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan area, weather is warm so rides can operate year-round, air is very clean and the locals are much more likely to spend a lot of money in park visitings. Not to mention the much better public transportation systems, higher development in service business, much much much better local food etc. I think wherever Universal Studios goes, the local parks won't be good enough to compete with them. Disneyland and Universal Studios have different visitor groups so they really aren't going to influence each other's business too much. They can even form a large group with Chimelong parks, OCT parks and sell group tickets to improve their attendance. Orlando parks do this and seems like it's a successful move. I think Canton area could be the next Florida TBH. Not to mention Chimelong already started their third major resort in Qinyuan which is also in Canton area. Sure, Beijing lacks parks and Happy Valley Beijing is crap. But seems like Universal Studios only found a Beijing local group that was willing to cooperate with them so they kinda have to put their park in Beijing. Not sure if this is an accurate information but I think it's possible.
