Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

What they need is a pregnant woman walk through with A/C. I think CP doesn't need to be themed, it's great for what it is now. -
-Hey when we were talking about you the other day, xxx said something about you -What's that he/she said? -Never mind I swear this is the worst thing ever.

Favorite Inversion
gerstlaueringvar replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not into inversions at all. But Outlaw Run's 153 degrees banked turn is probably my favorite because there's airtime on the way out. By the way, my least favorite inversion is In Line Twists on B&M wing coasters. -
I think there won't be two separate lift. There might be a friction brake to stop the train completely and then the chain starts moving. Using movable magnetic brakes to slow down the train to a very low speed that synchronous the chain's speed, lower the magnetic brake fins, then the chain starts moving faster. I think this can at keep the trains apart even though they are on the same chain lift. When the train in the back is entering the second lift, the chain slows down (or stope for a while) to avoid the "Vliegende Hollander effect". The sensors will make sure the second train on the second lift and the train on the first lift duels. Movable magnetic brake sounds more like something Gerstlauer or Intamin would do, so I guess RMC is going to use friction brakes if the second lift is like what I described. The second lift is going to have a lot of wear and tear and SFMM's operation needs to be much faster than they currently is to make this system work. I don't want to wait and see what the engineers did when they starts testing the ride, I want to have a million guesses and see which of my thoughts are the same as the engineer's. Plus, what is there to discuss if everyone just keep waiting for the testing? At least this is better than keep ranting about SFMM's horrible operation, food, price etc.

Not going to say it definitely won't happen, but based on construction pictures and the old station I'm 90% sure this won't be the case. The ride needs five blocks to operate with four trains, and since the brake run is at such a steep slope I'm guessing they decided to use a pre-lift block and only use the transfer as a block before the station (same setup as Goliath). Besides, the stop could be used to help with lift hill syncing and if the park only intends to use three trains in normal operation a double station would not be beneficial. The second lift seems like two blocks to me and it's not impossible.

Um... what? The train stops at a block right outside of the station for a while, that means the train that is shown on the video is probably the second train on the station. I'm quite sure they are using dual station like Maverick to make sure the train duels. Edit: sorry I got confused on duel and dual. Edit edit: now auto correct is killing me.
