  1. ^ IMAScore could be fully booked though, they have a huge amount of projects for such a small firm.
  2. To add to that, most of their rides are Chinese knock-offs.
  3. I know what happened to the ride, just wish that there would be a detailed accident report.
  4. I don't feel like they are being clear enough, maybe the reporter can't get too technical but I really wish there will be an accident report that analyze everything that happened thoroughly.
  5. We have a Theme Park Engineering and Design group (TPED) here at Purdue University as well. We are one of the most active groups in the nation and we have a lot of events including IAAPA, media days, competitions etc. Feel free to PM me for any information about us!
  6. Why does it matter? Think outside of the boxes that are set by the people that like to set up little landmarks in front of coasters and make themselves a big deal. That's what makes you better than them. The "doubts" that you have are the innovations that are pushing this industry forward. I just think that If you still try to catagorize them according to the standards From 20+ years ago, you're simply not moving forward fast enough.
  7. Thank you so much for the report and great photos!
  8. Why care about what other people think?
  9. That magnetic brake starts pretty low!
  10. Seeing as it has no launches, no elevation changes, and nobody's getting on mid-ride, it's physically impossible for it to gain momentum through the course. Physics, man. Actually I'm in Physics class and learning about it now but still
  11. This accident happened at a city called Mianchi, it's a typical city park that owns a few rides. The top spin's restraint opened during the ride cycle and the rider fell off the ride to his death. Here's a video of what happened at the park, might cause some discomfort. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOOeWl269sU Video1.mp4
  12. Even if it ends up being Cheetah Hunt intense, which is pretty unlikely, I wouldn't complain at all.
  13. Keep in mind that Skyrush has walkway under it and this one is nearly impossible to get a close up off-ride video! And this is a wing coaster so high wind will influence the train a lot, and this ride just opened, and it's only 72 degrees over there. (While 72 is a dream temperature for the majority of us here this time of the year, it is quite low for Abu Dhabi. Flying Aces might be running on summer wheels with thicker polyurethane because Abu Dhabi is super hot and they probably don't have the need to purchase "winter wheels" that work on 30's and 40's.) So many factors here that that I can think of can make the train (look) slow. I'm sure this would be an amazing ride.
  14. During a repaint process, a ride needs to be painted white first before the new layer of paint is added.
  15. Currently getting tortured by Calc 2. The math department here also makes our courses unnecessarily hard! But I'm sure it will all worth it.
  16. ^You need to be an engineer BEFORE you can be a designer.
  17. Of course they can't shape the same! RMC uses train and this is a single car coaster, if the RMC wave turns are shaped like the one here I believe the lateral G at the front and the back of the train can kill someone! That's what I meant by "modified". Let's move on, please.
  18. ^^The park is not even opened yet, that video of Flash is from a test run. And by large scale Euro Fighter I mean Takabisha size. Which one are you talking about? I don't see any RMC influence in here. Wave turn
  19. I disagree with your opinion here. We may have a lot of Eurofighters, but this looks like a cut above the rest. First off, it's Mack! Have you been on a larger Mack recently? Manta is amazingly smooth and I've heard amazing things about Blue Fire and Helix as well as Storm and Flah at Lewa World. I think seeing Macks take on this will be very exciting. Another difference between this and a typical gerst Eurofighter is the focus on airtime. This looks a lot more interesting than most Eurofighters to me. This coaster has super unique elements (the outward banked tophat thing? The super tight apex airtime hill?). I am way more excited about this than any gerst that isn't Karnan or possibly Junker. And those are Infinity coasters right? Macks future is super exciting to me, I can't wait to see what else they are doing! Have you been on a large scale Euro Fighter? And Flash is not even opened yet, how can you hear amazing things about it? Also, Gerstlauer has been doing off-axis transitions on Euro Fighters before RMC did NTaG and Mack basically just modified one of RMC's element. Yes this is a very interesting layout, but I don't think it's any better than the newer Gerstlauer coasters.
  20. I love the reflecting surface! Curious about how they can prevent scratches on the surface because a little bit of scratch would be ugly enough to ruin everything.
