Reliability of B&Ms
gerstlaueringvar replied to Canobie Coaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't noticed that B&M are truly that reliable based on my own experience. All I know about the reliability are from the forums. Plus, please don't say how Intamin are not reliable in order to show how reliable B&M's are. Every company's product break down once in a while. Plus, Intamin's systems are far more complex than that of B&M coasters. When things got too complex, they certainly brake down more. Intamin always push their technology in each of their products and prototype technologies tend to be more unreliable. B&M coasters are reliable and low maintenance, a big part of that is because of how simple their systems are. (This is from Ocean Kingdom's maintenance department manager, not me. But I think it makes a lot of sense) -

I can answer a bit for you. 1. If a park come to us and pay for it, why not? 2. We already did, a couple of them. 3. It's up to the park, Shambhala used the V shaped car, right? 4. If a park is willing to pay for it, yes. -
^ somehow I think Chance is like the steel coaster department of RMC RMC expanding their business is definitely great, but I really am wondering how many more new elements can be invented until RMC starts to use their "experience" like B&M do. Surely RMC won't necessarily become cookie cutters but when things get too common and alike, it somehow loses the special feeling. Getting three or four new RMC's is probably not all good (but definitely great for RMC)

I will be at IAAPA Asia during the whole show time. Please feel free to post here if you have any questions to ask the manufacturers and I'll try my best to ask them. Of course, all these questions have to be "nice", things like "what happened to FoF's LIM", "why is Hades360 so unbearably rough, crappy and not friendly to insurance companies", "What will happen to Cudafall" and asking Gerstlauer"which do you think is better? Maurer or Mack" are not considered "nice". Most important Note: RMC IS NOT HERE, Vekoma is probably representing RMC but as for now, Vekoma's booth is still empty. Triotech has a huge booth that shows two ride systems and they are really friendly. Premier's booth is almost done, possibly the fastest among all the exhibitors. Chance Rides is here but the booth is still empty. Here are some photos I took this morning: B&M booth. Nothing snappy is happening anymore but seems like Banshee is doing great. Triotech's booth. PAX! More Wild Train and Formule 1 please! Premier booth! Mack's booth is almost done, they have a lot of German snacks at the back that will be provided to the guests. Hello Triotech, WMG is a great start and wish you guys have a bright future! Hello Premier Rides, you guys never disappoint! Love love love every ride I've ridden from Premier. They are working so hard! Triotech is getting ready for their IDR's first show after IAAPA Orlando's world premiere.

New Triple Corkscrew Coaster.
gerstlaueringvar replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you think Mean Streak is rough, Chinese knock-off coasters will definitely kill you. If you can stand Hades360 and know how to brace on a terrible Arrow or Vekoma looper, these coasters worth some tries. I rode a four inversion Zhongye coaster three months ago (with the knock-off SkyLoop) and it is surprisingly smooth in a knock-off standard. It is definitely worse than the worst Arrow looper I've been on but nothing close to the pain on Hades360. Not to mention the ejector airtime at the back row during the first drop and the insanely forceful loops that made me grey out for 6 seconds. -

^ People will start to complain about the restraints. They don't like crazy airtime on Intamin monsters. -

^Poltergeist is perfectly fine for me, maybe FoF is different. But I'm only 6"2' so I don't have the tall people problem. -

It would be sad to see Vortex go as there really aren't many big Arrow loopers around (I personally LOVE them). Plus KI got Banshee this year so they won't need a major new ride in a few years. -
