  1. I've only been on one (SFSTL), and I actually kind of like it. Guess I'm just weird
  2. I opened my Christmas gifts from my aunt and uncle and SURPRISE! Volumes 4-8 of Roller Coasters in the Raw! Now I just need Volume 3 and the Blu-Ray discs to complete my collection. Can't wait to start watching them tonight!
  3. I was hoping my family would get to both parks in one day, and we had Express passes, but Harry Potter, Mythos, and pouring rain took up a lot of our time. Studios was tempting with HRRR towering above us, but oh well, maybe next time.
  4. Outlaw Run deserves to be in the top three. It was overlooked at the GTA (7th place). It at least deserves to be ahead of Voyage. I can't really say about El Toro because I haven't ridden it yet.
  5. How will crowds be the last day of the season (December 30)?
  6. Iron Mean Streak? One can hope. Iron Streak? Mean Steel? Mean Iron? I really don't like any of the names
  7. Speaking of Volare's, I told my dad that there were amusement parks in North Korea. To prove it to him I brought up RCDB on my laptop and clicked on the first coaster I could find. Turned out to be a Volare. He thought it was funny that "North Korea makes their citizens ride in cages".
  8. At SFSTL my sister, a friend, and I rode Batman six times in a row. We only got off because of the time, but none of us felt queasy at all. Do these forces really make people queasy/not want to reride?
  9. Glad to see this is happening this year. I was worried they weren't going to do it. Here's my ballot. Outlaw Run and Voyage are by far the best coasters I have ridden (Raging Bull is my favorite steel). American Thunder is an airtime machine so that came next. The Legend and Boss are great terrain coasters so they came next. American Eagle and Screamin' Eagle are classics and "okay" rides so they were next. I can hardly remember my rides on Viper or Raven but because they didn't stand out they're last. --fatzingers27@gmail.com------ LOCATION FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS) ~"St. Louis, Missouri" NAME FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS IN Ballot) ~"Steven Fatzinger aka Woodie Warrior" RANK THE FOLLOWING RIDING SENSATIONS <-LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS Abrupt Airtime_____________________________,y,y,1 Floating Airtime___________________________,y,y,2 Out of Control Feeling/Directional Changes_,y,y,3 Sensation of Speed_________________________,y,y,4 Positive G's/Loops_________________________,y,y,5 Lateral Forces_____________________________,y,y,6 COASTER NAME PARK LOC <--Please leave this Outlaw Run Silver Dollar City MO,y,y,1 The Voyage Holiday World IN,y,n,2 My Favorite Steel Anypark Anywhere **,y,n,3 American Thunder Six Flags St Louis MO,y,y,4 The Legend Holiday World IN,y,n,5 The Boss Six Flags St Louis MO,y,y,6 American Eagle SFGAm IL,y,n,7 Screamin' Eagle Six Flags St Louis MO,y,y,7 Viper SFGAm IL,y,n,8 Raven Holiday World IN,y,n,8
  10. While in line for American Thunder @ SFSTL a lady said she couldn't wait to ride Pandemonium because according to her the ENTIRE sat on a rotating platform. While on Dinosaur @ DAK a lady exclaimed "Where is Ellen!?"
  11. I can't say I hate, or even dislike, and coaster company. But the Chinese knock-offs look really bad.
  12. Nobody posted the ninth day's announcement so I guess I will: And here are some of the items that will be sold at KD's 40th Celebration Store:
  13. ...they're both pretty good coasters...um... Any 2014/15 rumors?...anyone?...
  14. The posters of heroes and villains are the queue decorations for every Superman themed ride in the Six Flags chain. At least they actually took the time to look through Superman characters to create the posters. But there was a period in the late '90s/early 2000s where Six Flags did a decent job at themeing. Look at Batman, Mr. Freeze, and various dark rides such as Scooby-Doo for example. Wish they'd start doing that stuff again.
  15. If you're talking about the one at MK, this is actually a genius idea. But I'm guessing if Stitch goes anywhere a completely different attraction or show will replace him. Disney hasn't had much success with either of the attractions that took place in Stitch's ride building (Stitch is terrible and Alien Encounter was "too scary" )
  16. I become even more amazed by Japan every time I see a photo of it. Can't wait for my inevitable future trip there! Nice photos, too!
  17. I personally wish Six Flags would have a year like this at some of their parks. But they are just focused on getting teens and tweens into the park. These announcements are going to attract a lot of older locals with fond memories of the park back to KD. Good for Kings Dominion and Cedar Fair.
  18. That's a really weird lift hill but the ride looks really fun.
  19. That is the best response to Blackfish I've read.
  20. I don't know if it has been asked already, but what are those two flat wooden sculptures at the bottom of the picture? Are they the beginning of the next hill of the ride?
