  1. On Kraken I loved the head choppers, but the cement trench was ugly in my opinion.
  2. Am I the only one who thinks concrete trenches look cool on inverted coasters? I don't really like them on any coaster, I'm guessing because they don't look natural.
  3. 2 Questions: Is Outlaw rough compared to New Texas Giant? Is there great airtime on the first drop? 1. "Rough" is not a word that can be used to describe Outlaw Run 2. Not only is the airtime great on the drop, on pretty much every element you are out of your seat
  4. BGW is definitely on my must-visit list now.
  5. X was closed for 5 and a half months for repainting, new trains, and to be "rethemed" into X2. X2 could end up being closed from August to March (7 months) for a chain lift breaking. Maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that something else is going on?
  6. Kinda reminds me of the Kingdom Keeper books, where the kids are transported to the parks in the middle of the night.
  7. Documentaries these days are only made to make people look bad are stupid, and I'm pretty sure most people can't comprehend that. If the Blackfish film crew would have asked to take a behind-the-scenes tour of SeaWorld, I'm guessing SeaWorld would have told them yes and shown them how well they take care of their animals. But the film crew would have edited it to make the park look bad. My favorite comment on REO Speedwagon's page is "You guys are just now noticing that SeaWorld has animals in captivity?"
  8. I'd imagine a ton of digital projection and video mapping, which would be pretty cool.
  9. I love every coaster at SDC, but here is how I'd rank them: 1. Outlaw Run (#1 on wood list) 2. Powder Keg (#2 on steel list) 3. Wildfire (#9 on steel list) 4. Thunderation (#18 on steel list) 5. Fire-in-the-Hole (#28 on steel list)
  10. I thought that was only a rumor because a Screamscape reader saw the architecture and thought it looked similar to the Jekyll and Hyde restaurant facade. I didn't think any real sources had ever said anything about it.
  11. That's a good question. Maybe there is a maintenance entrance closer to the ride? Edit: Google Maps shows an employee parking lot connecting right to a pathway leading to Outlaw Run's plaza.
  12. The Ninja has a small footprint, so I'd actually rather see a few flats placed there instead of a coaster. Is there any talk about a mine train replacement or would that not be possible because it is a "classic" and is one of few family coasters in the park? A FireChaser Express-style ride would be a nice replacement for it.
  13. I understand people who believe orcas shouldn't be kept in captivity, they have a right to have their own opinions. But once again I ask, why is SeaWorld being picked out as the only people who keep whales in captivity? I've been to plenty of aquariums and zoos where large sea creatures are kept in smaller sized tanks than the ones at SeaWorld, but nobody cares about those. When I went to SeaWorld this year, it was obvious they care about their animals for a few reasons: 1. If the whales weren't cared for, they wouldn't be healthy enough to perform their maneuvers. 2. If they didn't like performing, they wouldn't listen to the trainers. 3. The animals look very happy while performing, and they and their trainers definitely have a bond.
  14. 2014 is shaping up to be the biggest and best year for Universal Orlando yet.
  15. Ha! Thanks! Glad you liked the update. It's always fun getting to go into a park before the public gets in there. Sometimes it's almost had like a "creepy" feel to it, especially when all the service vehicles are gone and it's just you and ONLY you in the park! Was the park's music off? When I went to SFSTL for ICW shooting we walked through the park and I felt something was missing that made the park feel a little creepy. Soon I realized the park's speakers had no music coming out of them. I guess I had gotten used to crappy pop music filling my ears when in the park Walking through an empty Disney park is now on my bucket list BTW
  16. I've yet to be on a B&M coaster I didn't like, and this one looks to be better than the ones I have ridden.
  17. I agree. The crew at SFSTL has kept American Thunder one smoothest, if not THE smoothest, coasters I have ever ridden. The Boss and Ninja are rough rides, but the maintenance crew can't really control the roughness of those two.
  18. Yet another musician refuses to support SeaWorld.
  19. The one at Warner Bros. Movie World is supposedly good. The one at SFSTL would essentially be a brand new dark ride as well, since the boat system is going to be taken out. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'm guessing the new Justice League dark ride will only have a slight resemblance to the version at Warner Bros. Movie World. The budget for SFSTL will most likely be far less.
  20. How long should it take for this to assemble once it arrives at Worlds of Fun?
  21. If the Back to the Future attraction jumps to the year 2015 and says it's the future, aren't the ride's days numbered? Pretty soon guests will be going back in time to get to the future.
  22. I'm surprised they haven't sold It's A Small World dolls before.
  23. I love that painting. It completely matches the themeing of the ride and is another thing that shows how much Disney goes above and beyond with their attention to detail.
  24. Maybe a clone of the dark ride that was recently installed at Warner Bros. Movie World? Edit: The Alien Invasion dark ride cost Warner Bros. around 8 million dollars. I don't see Six Flags paying that much for a dark ride.
