Rides You Can't Ride?
Woodie Warrior replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Bert, you should definitely try a Disk'O. The ride does not seem to spin nearly as fast as it looks, it's really a lot of fun. -
This is spot on. Most of the "Disney killer" comments I've read were on a different site where pretty much everybody absolutely hates Disney and worships Universal. Both resorts will see an increase in attendance due to SDMT and Diagon Alley opening. Anyways, back to topic. I think the main reason crowds are dying down a lot earlier than expected is that schools seem to be starting earlier than ever this year. I mean, in St. Louis most schools either started today or start tomorrow. And it isn't easy trying to get home from a vacation and then have only a day or so to prepare for the start of school. Also, I have to agree that the popularity of the franchise is dying down. Other YA series are starting to become more and more popular, and a lot of people seem to be forgetting about Harry Potter. However, with the Harry Potter spinoff films coming up soon, the franchise be reintroduced to a whole new generation.

I think it's funny that they're teasing us with a Centurion site and trying to trick us. I mean, when they announce the ride is "Fury 325", everybody is going to be disappointed with the name, not excited. -

It's sad how so many comedians who give us so much laughter are actually very depressed on the inside. Robin Williams was a great actor and comedian. I'll have to go see Night at the Museum 3, his final movie. -
Wow, really dude? Did it never occur to you to just maybe, I dont know, politely ask her to put it away? I know its against the rules and she shouldnt have done it but at the end of the day she didnt have any intent to do any harm (unlike say line jumpers or people who smoke in line), and yet your first instinct was to rudely slap it out of her hand and break her phone? Or watch as she gets escorted out? Thats kinda sick man. Maybe Im overreacting but it seems to me a normal response wouldve just been to tell her to put it away, not get all malicious over it. I never got "malicious" over it. I didn't ever seriously consider slapping it out of her hands, because, I agree, it would've been unnecessary and rude. But have you never seen the signs up that say "If you have a loose article out on the ride you will be kicked out of the park". She had her phone in her hands the entire time, and even if she was holding it down in her lap, if it would've flown out it could've definitely hurt somebody. (Oh, and I did ask her to put it away and told her that it was against park rules. She didn't react at all, so she most likely didn't hear me.) Anyway, back on topic. Has anybody noticed any markings around the park? Maybe in Ragin' Cajuns spot?

Worst ride "neuters"
Woodie Warrior replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hardly noticed the trims on Raging Bull. It definitely has the best layout of any B&M I've been on, it just had a bad rattle. -
That whole beer incident sounds completely ridiculous. I also had a pretty bad experience, not as bad as yours or Robb's. We had an experience with a worker at Goliath who refused to let our group of three join the single rider line because we were a "group". We told him we knew how the single rider line worked and that we knew we wouldn't be riding together, but he still didn't let us join, so we moved on. Meanwhile, every train I saw had at least one empty seat on it. And this isn't really related to customer service, but since we had a group of three, I had to ride alone anyway. The teenage girl I ended up sitting with decided to pull out her cell phone on the lift hill and take a selfie. At first I was tempted to slap it out of her hands, but I chose not to since that would probably cause even more of a scene. On the brake run I was debating on whether or not I would tell an employee she had her phone out, but I decided not to. Looking back, I probably should have. I would have loved to see her escorted out of the park.

(RCT3) Aria Lake CANCELLED

It would be cool if you could maybe show a pic of each ride at the park and a description of it so that we can see how many rides there are. I think you should show us what the park really looks like before adding more attractions. -
SFSTL 2015: Boss gets Iron Horse treatment, complete with 11 inversions and 37 airtime hills. It is named New Iron Boss: Steel Coaster. 2016: New B&M giga coaster. It is named "Goliath" (because SFSTL doesn't have a ride named Goliath yet). 2017: Add seatbelts to Goliath because it is unsafe without seatbelts. 2018: Backwards Bonanza! Pandemonium, Boomerang, and the Log Flume all go backwards! 2019: Boomerang 2.0! Screamin' Eagle is removed so that an additional Boomerang ride can be added. The coasters duel for one season, before they close one side for good since neither are that popular. 2020: The Revenge of the Log Flume! The floors of the logs are removed for ultimate wetness, plus the logs are reversed so that you never know when your feet will be banged up next!

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
Woodie Warrior replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best: Outlaw Run. The two barrel rolls look the same but are very different. On the first one you are going somewhat quickly, but on the second one you are going significantly slower meaning lots of awesome hang time. Runner up for best: Kraken at SeaWorld Orlando. The beginning of the ride was disappointing and had a bit of a rattle, but the ending through the ditches and tunnels was pretty awesome. Wish the whole ride was like that. Second runner up is the Gerstlauer spinning coasters: These coasters in general are underrated. For a family ride, they definitely have decent airtime and positive G forces. The bunny hop into the final helix is the best part of the ride, though. Worst: Adventure Express. -

Great Bear? -
The train ride, scare zones, and last year they had two small houses open for free (one themed to cannibals, one themed to clowns). There are also a few shows. All the rides are open as well. The all night admission to the houses is like $15, I believe. It isn't a bad deal at all, I liked three of the four houses a lot.

I don't see them naming the next coaster "Ziz". I think they just chose Behemoth and Leviathan because they are strong and powerful names which are synonyms for "large beast". "Ziz" is a really bad name for a coaster. -
