  1. Congratulations on reaching your goal! Can't wait to hear about the VIP Tour, it sounds like it would be a fun thing to do.
  2. Let's say, hypothetically, a child was an inch too short (and there was no question about that), and the operator said no, and the child cried. Is that the employee's fault? Well, Robb isn't one to stir up drama when it isn't needed, so I believe him when he says that the ride op pushed her head down. And if the ride op didn't push her head down, that would have to mean that the measuring sticks around the park are inconsistent, which would be even more ridiculous. SFGAM is a great park, but they have the worst employees out of any park I've been to (including Mount Olympus). I think the issue is training. You think they have worse employees than Mt. Olympus? That's a complete joke, sorry. Honestly, we did not have any problem with the employees at Mount Olympus. We actually found a few of them to be very friendly. At SFGAM, we had more than one horrible encounter with employees, such as them not knowing how to operate a freaking single rider line and treating us like we were idiots. I understand that everybody loves to hate on Mount Olympus. Maybe we were just lucky and didn't run into any of the ride employees there? I don't know. Anyway, back to the main discussion. I have a question for Robb: On your guys second attempt to ride Viper, did the employees hold up the train while calling their supervisors, or did they just send out your seats empty and make you wait? Just wondering.
  3. I'd have to say neither. It would be great for a smaller park like Alabama Adventure. But I don't see it leaving Germany.

  5. Extremely naive Would you rather...own a theme park or win a billion dollars?
  6. I'd say if you haven't ridden Outlaw Run, head down to Silver Dollar City. It's a far better ride than Goliath and Silver Dollar City is a beautiful park with lots of other great rides (and FOOD!) However, if you're asking because you'll be up in the Chicago area for another event and have time to stop by the park, then it'd be worth the visit. liked Goliath but I wouldn't wait more than an hour and a half for it.
  7. Kings Island's Racer has a similar problem, if you would even call it a problem. Red is always in the lead until you hit the trims before the turnaround. Blue then gets ahead by a mile and wins.
  8. Interesting. Maybe the Justice League is interested in leasing that swampland? I like that they're teasing next year's project. I can't remember the last time they've teased a new attraction.
  9. Lol I have to agree with this. The ride was SO SO SO SO boring. So many trims, so many straightaways. Even the helix wasn't that spectacular, in my opinion.
  10. I'm puzzled as to why Universal Studios Singapore needs a third suspended coaster. They already have the Cyclon side on Battlestar Galactics and they also have Canopy Flyer. Maybe we will see the latter removed since this will most likely be very similar in layout to it.
  11. Here's a great one from the Cedar Point thread:
  12. I got to ride both Hades 360 and Avalanche/HellCat a week ago. Hades 360? Did not understand the hate at all. Amazing layout, awesome tunnels, and while I wouldn't call it a smooth ride, I definitely wouldn't call it a rough one. Avalanche however, was the roughest coaster I've ever ridden. It's the first ride I've ever been on where I've actually wanted it to end quicker.
  13. Maybe a return of the Villains Cafe? The sign is currently in storage behind the Boss and is visible from the train. I highly doubt it though. I'm guessing if it's a restaurant it'll be a restaurant for vegetarians since that seems to be the new trend in the chain. I was mainly happy that Villain's Cafe was changed because on two of the giant signs on the side of the building read "Villian's Cafe". Lol. Somehow I never caught that. J.B's is really good, at least for Six Flags food. It has become my family's favorite place in the park, with Macho Nacho and Mooseburger the two other ones we frequent.
  14. Holiday World's coasters never seem to have a wait more than 15-30 minutes. The longest waits are always in the water park. I think Thunderbird could change that, though. We will just have to wait and see.

  16. Honestly, something about that slide looks really awkward to me. I like the look of the full funnel better. Also, did anyone else notice the vertical raft conveyor belt on that black and white slide? I've never seen anything like it before.
  17. I don't understand the hype around Adventure Express. I didn't think it was particularly smooth and honestly the layout was kind of boring to me. Was it better than most Arrow mine trains? Yes. Was it as good as Thunderation at SDC? No. I didn't think Flight of Fear was that great of a ride. I mean, the whole point of the show building is to be pitch black. But when you can see everything inside the building, then there is no point in having a building. Also, the MCBR ruins the entire second half.
  18. Can you confirm if it will be a clone of the Justice League ride at the Warner Bros park in Australia? In U.S. dollars, that ride cost $8.5 million, not adjusted for inflation, so maybe corporate really isn't neglecting us as much as some people like to think.
  19. Holiday World claims that Thunderbird can reach 1,140 people per hour. The layout is fairly short, and there is no lift hill, so I think it should be okay. I guess it really all depends in the efficiency of the ops, though. There's nothing to worry about capacity-wise. The ride ops at Holiday World are some of the most efficient in the business.
  20. I think they need a Petting Zoo, that would fir the area so much. I'd prefer a Birds of Prey show
  21. Yes, both times I've visited SFGAm the lines were horrendous. 3 hour waits for Superman and Goliath.
  22. I'm sorry if I came off rude to anyone on here. I just really love our little park here in St. Louis. Even if it doesn't have the most amazing coaster collection out there, we have some stand-out rides, and the park has some charm to it, unlike some other parks I've been to. And I just have so many memories from my childhood of going to the park with my family and friends and having a great time. So yes, I'm very defensive of my home park. Because if Six Flags St. Louis closed for good, I would be devastated. I mean, I grew up at the park and hearing people talk about how crappy they think it's become is really saddening.
  23. I understand that you guys have been waiting for a new MEGA-ULTIMATE-YOLO-EXTREME coaster for a long time. I mean, SFSTL is my home park and yes, I would love that. But how do you know that isn't coming next year? I mean, it probably won't happen since it will most likely be a Justice League dark ride next year. Speaking of that dark ride... Most of you guys are the type of people who are always fussing about how horrible the themeing at Six Flags is. But when there's a good chance the new ride will be an amazingly-themed dark ride that actually fits into the themed area it is put into, you guys just complain that it isn't a coaster. I want a new coaster as much as the next guy, but claiming that the park is DOOMED because it hasn't gotten one is ridiculous.
  24. Lol WTF. Holiday World (which honestly, has always been a far better park than SFSTL) announces a new coaster, and this thread explodes with people talking about how SFSTL is DOOMED! I'm sorry, but how does a park 3 and a half hours away getting a new coaster all of a sudden make SFSTL the worst park in the world? I'm very confused by this logic.
  25. I'm sure they all did. And they all went, "Oh sh!t." I'm sure they watched it an cheered that they would still have the most intense coaster in the area and for a lot less money. If only they could keep it operational all the time. I do agree that Lightning Run (which I have ridden) will be better than Thunderbird. But to the GP, Thunderbird looks far superior and if they have to make a choice between the two parks, Thunderbird is going to draw them to Holiday World.
