https://static.sixflags.com/website/files/sfsl_ff-guide.pdf The map for Fright Fest has been posted. From the description of Blood Bank: "our vampires will serve you an adult beverage Blood Bank style." Looks like Highland Fling's queue will be used as the bar area for this. I wonder where they'll move it next season if this proves to be a popular area? I thought "Project Chromo" would just be a rename for Zombieville since it's going into the same spot, but it appears that Zombieville will be relocated to the Spinsanity area. Nice of the park to add a scare zone instead of just replacing one.

Random park updates: Highland Fling's queue lines have been removed, with some patio tables moved under the structure in their place. Should be a nice place to relax for Fright Fest and HITP before the structure is torn down for Supergirl. Colossus is testing. The scare zone in DC Plaza looks really cool this year. Most scare zones seem to be almost fully set up, except for the new one near the Boss. I love seeing the park drag out all the old Scooby-Doo props

I used to run a roller coaster account on Instagram (I know, I know, please don't judge me too much), and I still log in from time to time. Today my feed was full of nothing but whiny SFMM fans. I saw one comment that this coaster "doesn't match the standards that the park used to had for their new rides". I really hate being a member of this community sometimes.

All I've heard is that maintenance is hoping to get it reopened by next season. Most of the rumblings I've heard about the new addition are pointing to an Endeavor going in Highland Fling's old spot. Of course, we employees really don't have any more knowledge about future additions than most people. But it makes the most sense to me- they already have a queue and ride pad just sitting there. And Fling was a family favorite, lots of guests seem upset when I tell them that it's not there any more, so I'm sure it would be a hit. Whatever ends up going there can't be much taller anyways due to Dragon's Wing flying over the area. To quote Six Flag St. Louis's current website teasing the 2019 new ride: "It's not an exaggeration to say that our August 30 new ride announcement will be bigger than any other news you've heard this year. We're planning something really big for Six Flags St. Louis in 2019!" Now, while the rumored Zamperla Endeavour is a good ride, and certainly would be a logical replacement for Highland Fling, is there anyone out there who thinks that installing one would be "bigger than any other news you've heard this year"? Anyone who thinks that, if that's the ride we're getting, that Six Flags has planned something "really big for Six Flags St. Louis"? Anyone? Anyone? I'm willing to be proven wrong, but I just don't think anyone out there will think that an Endeavour is a "really big" anything at all. That's Six Flags marketing for you. If this addition was anything larger than a flat ride, we'd be seeing markers, clearings, etc. already.

It's a shame, and a bit embarrassing, that so many rides have been down all summer. Shazam finally had its new ride vehicles put on this past week, so it should be operating as soon as the state inspectors come out. Xcalibur will definitely be down for the rest of the season- and I don't think the park really knows if it will ever reopen. No clue when Colossus is going to reopen- they're waiting on a replacement part. Those three have been down all summer, and while a lot of it is out of the park's hands (and budget), it's even worse when you already have the empty Highland Fling site just sitting there.

Not to change the topic but... I visited the park Friday, and honestly Fright Fest is a mess this year. -Camp Killamore and Slaughter House seemed a lot shorter than in the past. Killamore had no real theming other than in the showerhouse. The rest was just walking down large open pathways filled with fog and lighting. Slaughter House got rid of one of its best parts (the corn maze) and now the entire outside area smells like pig sh*t because there are now actual live pigs just sitting in the middle of the maze? -Night Terrors had the most scare actors and effects of the mazes we went through but the overall theme (not that most people care) didn't seem to make sense. There were snakes, hands, clowns, chain link fences, a doctor. Not sure what it was supposed to be, but at least it was somewhat scary. -Blackout is a waste of space and scare actors. -Clown area had no scare actors when we went through at 10. It's also in a location this year that is even worse than last years (sandwiched in between Big Spin and Xcalibur). -No hayride this year really makes it ridiculous to charge $30 for admission to 5 houses. The worker running the line for Killamore heard my friend complaining about the VIP line and ranted to us about how she thinks the $30 for the houses is way too much, let alone the $40 for express. A new maze would be nice next year, as well as an emphasis on more theming in the mazes. Not sure how Blind Fury is this year, we didn't go in.

Friday 100%. Amusement parks on Saturdays in October can set record crowds. I was assuming Friday would be better crowd wise, but was also wondering if the two extra hours the park is open on Saturday would give us more time to do things. Is Quick Queue worth it? The website says it's only good on 4 rides.
