From the videos, Paranormal Inc looks fantastic (minus the pre-show, that was a bit too cheesy for me), while Dead of Winter looks absolutely terrible. I thought they said something about Dead of Winter using lots of bright lighting, but the whole thing looked just as dim as any other maze. The effects, sets, and actors in Paranormal Inc look awesome though.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Millennium Force and Maverick are my favorite rides at CP, but there's no doubt that the B&Ms are more reliable. MF doesn't seem to break down often, but Maverick does from time to time (same with Wicked Twister), and TTD seems to be closed more often than it is open. At the end of the day, both companies make great rides. B&M's are more reliable and always a guest pleaser, while Intamin's are less reliable but seem to be a favorite amongst both the GP and enthusiasts. Just look at CP's social media pages. Anytime they ask "What's your favorite coaster?", 99% of people either respond MF, TTD, or Maverick. -
Regardless, that whole Ninja to Tsunami Soaker area needs to pick a theme! I agree, except I think the whole park needs to take a year off from dropping millions into a new attraction and spend that on theming improvements throughout. I'd be happier with better theming than I would be with anything short of a new large-scale coaster at this point. What? I mean, I do really like themeing (SDC is my favorite park), but I don't see why themeing is really needed at the park. Would it be nice? Sure, but the park already looks decent, and an amazing new steel coaster is what this park really needs right now.

I've only watched Attraction Magazine's video of the scare zones, but still, does anybody else think they look kinda not scary? The scream punk fairy tales one looks extremely lame. I mean, most of them are in regular princess/prince outfits, with no creepy makeup whatsoever. The only "scary" one is the witch, and she's still no different then her movie counterpart. The icons one looks cool with its mini-shows and all, but it's not like the characters are coming anywhere near you. The die-in and asylum one look pretty good, but I still feel like they were focusing more on trying to be original than trying to actually be scary. The houses all sound really cool though, I just wished the scare zones looked as cool.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Second best isn't good enough for KD fans. You either beat Intimidator 305 or don't try. This is possibly the most obnoxious post I've ever seen on this forum... ...Unless it's sarcasm? I can't tell. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Outlaw Run placing 8th is the biggest joke ever. I get that people love The Beast and all, but there's no way in hell The Beast, with all its trims and straightaways, is a better ride. Anyways... To get back to Holiday World, any 2016 rumors? I'm not expecting anything as I would've thought it would've been announced by now. -

So Cedar Point can't build a 230 foot coaster but they can have a 426 foot tall coaster a few hundred feet away, not to mention an addition 310 foot tall one? That makes perfect sense. -
When they dumped the containers by the exploding shack for the Terror Train, I figured they would be props for Wrecker's Salvage, but I didn't see that it's maked as an upcharge on the website, so I'm probably wrong about it being the train, because I know that the hayride is coming back for sure. I also saw a cabin back there for, I'm assuming, Camp Killamore, so maybe they're just staging props for various attractions there?
-
I thought Wrecker's Salvage was the hayride this year? The loading platforms are already set up for the hayrides, and Zombie Paintball Apocalypse isn't being advertised. Plus the Fright Fest site has Wrecker's Salvage marked as an upcharge attraction. From what I've heard there isn't a Terror Train this year.

Since I'm the guy that posted that pic, I guess I should explain where it is. I took it from Colossus's porch/queue looking towards Justice League. It's behind the Hall of Justice store that has the snack booth attached. Here's pretty much the location: https://www.google.com/maps/place/38%C2%B030'51.6%22N+90%C2%B040'35.0%22W/@38.5143295,-90.6764509,103m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0?hl=en I just guessed it was a mini troll walkthrough since I knew they were returning and their old area was taken by Blind Fury. These thin paths should make for a more intimate/scary environment.

Thanks! And also I went on STR today, I noticed the Mantis lead car in a storage area. So I'm guessing yes. I'm sorry, I've been trying to figure it out but I cant. What is STR an acronym for? lol! I probably sound really dumb.... Shoot the Rapids, I believe. -
Visited the park today, and while it was crowded, the lines weren't bad. A few notes: -Ride ops were dispatching trains quickly, especially Mr. Freeze at night. -Food lines were OUTRAGEOUS. Meanwhile, Mooseburger and Macho Nacho, some of the most popular restaurants, closed at 4. If there's one thing the park needs, it's a way to make the food lines move quickly. First Cone is the only restaurant where they get people through extremely fast. The workers are exceptional there. -Fright Fest props have started to arrive. I noticed a new mulch trail in between Colossus and DC Comics Plaza with weird stick huts all around. I'm assuming this is a mini-walkthrough for the return of the trolls, as their old spot in the shade arbor has been taken. Can you confirm if this is the case, HWFan? -The Boss was a bit tougher than it was a month or so ago but it was awesome at night. I wouldn't object to an RMC conversion, but the ride isn't really THAT bad. As for Screamin' Eagle, as awesome as an RMC conversion would be, it's pretty much the first big coaster for smaller kids, and making it an inverting, intense ride with a 48" requirement would ruin it. And, like the Boss, it's still a pretty good ride that doesn't really need the I-Box treatment. It was a good day, even with the troubles with the food stands. I really love walking around the park at night.

I do remember him saying that several pages back. I believe the words were "I can guarantee you'll be able to ride it next year." But some articles have stated Fireball is going where it currently is. Perhaps they're moving it? Okay. This is my turn to apologize. It is absolutely amazing how fast plans can change so close to announcement time. Even just a few days ago when I said that, there were plans to relocate it to another park. It may be headed to the scrap heap now. Holiday World had to get rid of their falling star in the early 2000's due to the amount of maintenance it took. They shipped it to a park with a less strenuous operating schedule. Rush Street Flyer was going to have to go sometime, and I can't think of a better ride to take its place. (Those who were wanting a S&S Screamin' Swing in that spot have absolutely no idea how small that spot is compared to how much room those swings take.) I am a bit surprised about the removal of Rush Street Flyer as it's backdrop just got repainted 1-2 years ago, right? You're right though, flat rides aren't meant to last forever, and Rush Street Flyer has lasted a long time. And yeah, there's no way a Screamin' Swing could've ever fit in RSF's spot. A Super Loop is probably the only other flat that could. I'm actually looking forward to riding Fireball, but I do wish corporate would've given us at least 1 more flat. There's no point in complaining at this point though. Also, being able to use the dining pass at every SF park is an awesome benefit, as is the fact it comes with an unlimited refill bottle. Six Flags really is doing an awesome job at using customer comments to make improvements

Actually, the lines for JLBFM here at SFOT move fairly quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the lines move. The line here at SFSTL moves pretty quick too! Not really... Probably less than 400 pph. I'd say the lines for JL will probably be horrendous at SFGAm, especially its first season. 2-3 hours most of the time.

JLBFM actually did make sense for SFSTL. Scooby-Doo was at the final stage of its operating life. It was either a major overhaul or a completely new, state of the art ride. Obviously the latter made more sense. I believe SFOT actually has another dark ride as well, Looney Tunes themed? I could be really wrong though.
