  1. Hey y'all, I may be making a spontaneous trip out to CP next weekend. I have been on a weight loss journey this year (down 40 pounds so far), that was caused by walks of shame on Outlaw Run and Mr. Freeze. In the past month, I was able to make it on both of those rides. I haven't been to CP in years- does Steel Vengeance tend to be stricter than OR when it comes to the restraints? My issue with OR wasn't getting the green light, it was getting the seatbelt to buckle, which I was able to do recently. I'm also worried about MF and TTD. I'm 6'3" and around 280 pounds for reference. I don't really have a huge gut, most of my weight is in the legs (hence the issues with the seatbelts). For additional reference, Batman @ SFSL is a very tight fit with my shoulders and how my butt fits in the small seat, but the ride ops have always been able to squish me in. On Wildfire @ SDC, I'm able to squish myself in well enough. The only rides I still don't think I could fit on are Superman and Fireball @ SFSL, just due to the seatbelts not closing (which is an unfortunate mix of my weight and height).
  2. Per the park's Facebook page- SFSTL will not open until April at the earliest.
  3. Six Flags St. Louis will be closed until April at the earliest. Edit: Looks like it's the entire chain.
  4. People in the US are being turned away from testing if they don't match every single symptom, because the government is saying we don't have enough tests available. But somehow we have enough to test every member of the Utah Jazz team? Our health care system is fine if you're rich and wealthy enough. It's about to fail the rest of us. Sometimes there is no way to not make a discussion political- this is a global pandemic and governments need to be doing their job. It's simply cocky and (very American) to believe that this virus isn't going to hit us just as hard as it's hitting Italy. The fact that Six Flags and Cedar Fair haven't announced closings yet is crazy to me. It's inevitable at this point, I'd be shocked if they don't announce by this weekend.
  5. GR will be in a new building to the far left side of the plaza. I wouldn't get my hopes up for that, but you never know. The TLC I was referring to is some shops/restaurants getting overhauled.
  6. The gas lanterns will still be there. The plaza will be simple but a lot more open and cleaner. A few other areas of the park will be receiving some TLC as well. Very excited to see how everything turns out!
  7. Anybody see the park's Facebook post about the Moon Cars moving? They're not moving to the go-karts area anymore, so maybe that's what'll take over Tidal Wave's spot. Honestly I think it'd be a nice open spot for them.
  8. I don't even think Voyage is the roughest coaster in the park- Raven has always been consistently rougher on all of my visits, especially towards the end. I love RMC, but I hope they stay away from Voyage.
  9. For a small regional park with 3 major wood coasters, I think our park does a good job taking care of them all. Thunder still rides like it did its first season. Boss is gonna be rough no matter how much work goes into it. I've never thought Eagle was ever that rough either.
  10. It's not like Moon Cars current location is all that shaded either. If the park decides to move em, I think they'd be able to put a layout longer than the current one in the space available.
  11. Actually it's only been three years since Fireball was added.
  12. I'm excited for it. The social media response is surprisingly not as negative as I expected. Although lots of "too many carnival rides" comments, which always crack me up. It's an amusement park! You could call any of the rides in the park "carnival rides". And personally I wouldn't trust a portable version of this particular attraction Also, this new DC area is going to look amazing at night with Supergirl and Catwoman's light packages
  13. The new ride is not the ZacSpin, fortunately.
  14. Dragon's Wing isn't going anywhere, at least not this season.
  15. Anyone else seen The Farewell? One of my favorite films in quite awhile. Awkwafina really shows off her acting abilities beyond her normal comedic talents. The film itself takes you on an emotional roller coaster while navigating the divides between east/west cultures, as well as what unites us. Cannot recommend it enough.
  16. Lack of a cohesive DC area maybe. Right now it’s just random DC themed rides spread out, other than Freeze and JL with the DC circle. That's what makes it weird for me. To have half the park (Britannia/DC circle) have a DC theme even though Batman, Joker, and Superman, DC's most famous characters, are in other areas. Of course, it's Six Flags, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if it happens.
  17. I don't see the park putting in effort to retheme an area unless it's DC related. Not sure why they'd feel the need to create another DC area though.
  18. Anybody else noticed how nice the landscaping looks in the front mall/Palace gardens? It's a small detail in the grand scheme of the park, but it really makes a difference for that area.
  19. That coaster wouldn't fit with Cheetah Chase there, at least not the helix around Kima Bay. I'm guessing those blueprints were an old ride proposal leaked for fun, or just an enthusiast with too much time on their hands trying to stir up some rumors. I'm still very confused as to why Pilgrim Plunge's spot is still sitting there being an eyesore, but I'm sure HW has plans for it at some point. Cheetah Chase looks like a ton of fun. I love Wildebeest and this looks just as awesome. Hopefully I'll make it back to HW in 2020.
  20. I don't know what the troll face is for, but HW's website says May 29/30, 2020. https://www.holidayworld.com/shows-events/holiwood-nights/
  21. Has anybody marked up the map with what each area is? I see the Nintendo land, and I assume the Fantastic Beasts area is top right corner with the huge show building. I don't see anything that resembles Berk from HTTYD though. Also, the dueling coaster's station appears to have a futuristic theme, which doesn't fit any of the IPs listed. I'm always excited for more theme parks, and I'm intrigued to see how this one turns out. Having to go through a new entrance gate for every single area seems like a hassle, though, and I feel like Super Nintendo land will be the only big draw to the park, especially considering its distance from the main resort.
  22. In its current state Tidal Wave wouldn’t have been able to operate anyways. The refurbishment is needed.
  23. Thunder River reopened yesterday! On an unrelated note, the plan is for Tidal Wave to reopen next season.
  24. There are very little employees at the park that know what's coming in 2020, and none of them would take the time to create an account on here just to post "It's not a coaster." If it's not a small-scale coaster I'm not sure what other marketable flats we're missing at this point.
