  1. They're allowing people to pitch a tent in the Mickey & Friends garage. I feel a little silhouetto of...
  2. Exactly. Same thing has happened out here. Last winter I rode American Thunder in 20 degree weather with wind. The train barely made it back. It was crawling so slowly onto the brake run I really thought it would roll back and valley. But no, the train did make it and as we rolled at what seemed like 1/4 mph, the dispatcher was all "Welcome back riders" and went into the spiel for the next group and they sent that train around again! Six Flags is the best at cold weather.
  3. Well, Six Flags will fix that by not giving a sh*t.
  4. Amtrak does go the correct way, but like always once a day and at weird times. 8:05 AM departure from Denver, arriving Glenwood Springs 1:43 PM. On the way back, 12:10 PM from Glenwood Springs, arriving 6:38 PM. Still requires an overnight, but at least you have a bit more time. Assuming the train's on time of course. California Zephyr isn't great about that.
  5. Phantom's Revenge. What a kickass coaster. The airtime is real.
  6. I was under the impression that the Ministry of Magic expansion would be on the USO side of the property as an extension off of London/Diagon Alley in the plot currently occupied by the Fear Factor Live Stage. That actually makes a lot of sense, as the Ministry of Magic is in London (like all the other UK ministries are). I really hate to be this pedantic, and I never am normally, but Rowling is particular and has some creative control over what Universal does, so she will insist that things be as close to the books as possible.
  7. ^ There you go. Listen to this guy. He lives in New York State.
  8. Canada's Wonderland is doing Winterfest. If they want to do it, they'll do it. You're all spouting meteorology and then saying it's impossible, and that's just ludicrous. I've been to holiday events with a high of 12 degrees and no rides ever ran and had a great time. It'll be fine.
  9. Hahahaha! So true. Maybe Six Flags will get into it, who knows? They were the only ones making their crappy old wooden coasters into awesome RMCs for a while, and now Cedar Fair is getting into that game. I think at least part of that, though is that RMC had very limited resources at first and Six Flags flooded them with orders so that no one else could get in the game. So my argument might be total crap.
  10. I had no idea they had such a special carousel. Looks really great! Noted on Dahlonega. Yeah, some of those mine trains can have the weirdest jolts. Arrow really didn't do smooth transitions. Glad you all had a good time riding the Twisted Cyclone, but of course you did. RMC hasn't made a bad one yet (just one that doesn't work...).
  11. It was given to them? Like by someone who doesn't work for them? I always figured that was one of their unsubstantiated claims like Best Chicken Fingers at a Six Flags or Twistiest Ride Named Goliath.
  12. Oh come on now, it's not like Springfield Mass is a tropical paradise. What more does Six Flags have to do to prove they can and will put a Holiday in the Park anywhere they want?
  13. Awesome report of some great beers. Oh and rides I guess. That Beyoncé line... CP has the best ride ops. Glad Brit got over her fear of Ferris wheels. Julie won't ride one either, but fortunately for me my oldest two love them. I think you guys have already done the Breakfast in the Sky (irl, not in the narrative)? Hope you enjoyed/will enjoy it.
  14. But Six Flags Great America is the cleanest park ever to have existed anywhere, right?
  15. Awesome, glad you liked it! You're not the only one to have mentioned roughness om the wood coasters, especially in August. I've only ever been to this park for Holiwood Nights. That's how I first experienced it, and it was such a great event that I keep coming back for it. The wood coasters are fantastic in June, but they are all so aggressive that I don't doubt by August they beat themselves up. Legend has very strong laterals, and PTCs don't turn very easily, so that's got to hurt it. Yes, come back for Splashin' Safari. It's one of the best waterparks anywhere. They have free sunscreen and they let you wear water shoes onto all the slides, so no chance of burning your feet. Maybe come back just after Splashin' Safari opens next year so you can experience it along with the wood coasters just after offseason retracking.
  16. How dumb do you think we are? We're not falling for your lies. You've had three posts here, and all of them are lies.
  17. S&S free spin called Green Lantern to replace the Intamin Green Lantern, without any marketing whatsoever, just to see if anyone notices.
  18. Nah, I get it man. Introverts unite and be all alone together!
  19. ^ & ^^ I'm not local to either park, but I hope for both Kings Island and Magic Mountain to get great additions every year. Kings Island is getting a good one, and we'll see about Magic Mountain on the 30th. We can all hope for the best for every park.
  20. If by this you mean "dismayed that Little Amerricka continues to unleash this horror upon the world," then I agree.
  21. Nice little "preview day"! You totally got the Atlanta welcome wagon.
  22. They'd have to fight La Ronde for it. But Darien Lake's coasters would be open more often.
