  1. Mystery Mine. R.E.M. or B-52s?
  2. Wouldn't it tie the record with kennywood? Depends on how you're counting. I was thinking ride height, not drop height, so I was thinking it would beat Skyrush and Steel Force. But if you're thinking drop height, depends on where they put it. HP is hilly enough that if they place it right, they could get a 229' drop even with a 220' height. We'll see when they make their announcement.
  3. I believe it. Vekoma actually did a decent job with those jr. suspended coasters. I've been on the ones at Frontier City and Kings Island, and they're both good. My oldest daughter absolutely loves them, as they're the most intense she's willing to ride.
  4. That is very true. It's a widely held opinion that El Toro is trash compared to Viper. I daresay we'll see the day when Six Flags turns a train around backwards and calls it a new ride long before we'll see Viper wrapped.
  5. Six Flags will never say no to any advertising money. Well, maybe Big Al's Child Porn and Nazi Memorabilia Emporium, but that's the only one they'd say no to.
  6. Flying Turns is the best because all the other bobsled coasters are not at Knoebels.
  7. Enjoy your first trip outside the US! Canada is a great starter for Americans, since you have to contend with border crossings and currency exchange and such, but everybody speaks English (unless you're in Montreal) and the culture is like America, but if we were well behaved.
  8. "Tallest coaster in the state" is certainly easy marketing, and this would fit the bill.
  9. Awesome! Every time I see a Carowinds report, I get an itch to go there. It seems like a park I'd love. I had to look it up, and yeah, that was not a joke. They actually have a coaster they for real call Kiddy Hawk.
  10. Do you have a dedicated graphics card? Desktop or laptop?
  11. Sweet man, you'd better make it worth it and come out to Worlds of Fun too. Legit offer, you find a way to Kansas City, I'll pick you up at the airport and take you out to Worlds of Fun. It's great. It's like Dorney with casually racist theming.
  12. Oh yeah, you need to get down there. Holiwood Nights is the best time for people like us. They spoil us. Rotten. Seconded. I've never seen anyone go all out for an enthusiast event like they do. The level of hospitality is far too good for the enthusiasts who attend, but they rock it every year.
  13. Thanks! That's correct, but for the six people who care but haven't added me on Facebook I'll keep everyone in "suspense" about Breakfast in the Sky. As a proud member of that gang of six (don't care for Facebook, nothing to do with you personally), can't wait!
  14. Southern Tier's Coffee Blonde Ale, brewed in house at their Pittsburgh location right before a Pirates game. Is there anything better than that?
  15. Hahahaha! So true. Maybe Six Flags will get into it, who knows? They were the only ones making their crappy old wooden coasters into awesome RMCs for a while, and now Cedar Fair is getting into that game. I think at least part of that, though is that RMC had very limited resources at first and Six Flags flooded them with orders so that no one else could get in the game. So my argument might be total crap. It totally is a Six Flags thing to do, I totally get why everyone is saying it. However, they haven't converted any of their stand up coasters yet, just pointing out the irony. I still think they are going to scrap this thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's been my feeling since that little sign went up. That seems most likely to me as well. But never apologize for giving enthusiasts sh*t about anything.
  16. Honestly the ride was probably beyond what the park could hope to make back from it. Hence why they shared the filming costs with Arlington. Likely they did cheap out on the stuff that guests were less likely to notice, at least in the short term.
  17. Sounds like maybe a similar thing to Ghost Town Alive in some capacity? Like you get these physical challenges from the citizens of the frontier? Hard to tell right now, but that'd be cool.
  18. Good callout. Yeah, it's a 2019 addition. I just mentioned it as a rebuttal to those saying the climate prevented it. If Wonderland right across the lake can do it, Darien Lake can too. The real question was about the coasters - doesn't Wonderland run a holiday event but without the coasters? For me if SFNE wasn't running the coasters the event would have been a one and done sort of thing.....but we went four times....anybody can throw up decorations and hold a holiday event Seriously man? You QUOTED my post that said it started in 2019!!! Think before you post. Sheesh.

  20. Aw, man, sorry you went on such a busy day.
