  1. Ok, then I get it. They really go nuts on Christmas, so if that isn't your thing, you wouldn't enjoy it. Have some wassail while you're there. It's by the Lost River. Always one of the best things about the Christmas festival, so excited they're bringing it out early this year.
  2. Yes, Show Lovers Pass is available. I'm with you on avoiding Young Christians Weekend and Southern Gospel Picnic, but what do you have against Old Time Christmas? That's one of the best Christmas events anywhere.
  3. I really appreciate that explanation. Well stated. Yeah, if they felt it was going to become unsafe at some point, better to retire it before it gets to that point.
  4. Silver Dollar City's Cowboy and Crafts Festival began today, and since I'm off on Wednesdays, I wandered down to Branson for some fun. Stop! Banner time. I arrived at opening and rope dropped the saloon show. Oh, you thought I was going to say Time Traveler. Nah, man, this is Crafts Festival time, where the rides are walkons but you get your ass to the shows 45 minutes early if you don't want to sit in the back row. Roots and Koontz is the best show SDC has ever done that has a name that sounds like beatboxing. Rootsandkoontzandrootsandkoontzandrootsandkoontz Audience participation bit, singing Bette Midler's "Sisters." The guy got into it too! Great fun. Next up was the Wild West show. This is its last year, so come see it while you can! The hoop dancer alone is worth it. There was a mishap during the noon show, the first performance of the year. The sharpshooter came in on a horse and during her entrance the horse tripped and fell. Both were okay, medical staff ran out immediately to check on her and the trick riders from the next act ran out to calm the horse. Perfectly done, everyone was ok and the show went on. Great job everyone! The hoop dancer was incredible. Yes, this is a dog and pony show. Pony looks a bit strange though. Shooting over her shoulder looking in a mirror. Yeah, this is AFTER she fell off a horse. Such a badass! The trick riders were great too. Yup, we're in Branson. Great show! After the show, I went wandering looking for some good eats, when I stumbled upon this magnificent beauty: Christmas came early this year! And they have apple dumplings and ice cream too! Soooo good. Okay, now you've been patient so far, but I'm sure you're thinking, "Wait, has he actually ridden any rides yet?" And the answer is Nope, not yet! That's right, 3 hours at SDC and I have a scorecard of 2 shows, 1 lunch, and 0 rides. And I am having a blast, because that's the sort of park this is. But remember how I told you earlier that this time of year all the rides are walkons? Behold, a feast for your eyes: The park wasn't empty, it's just that everyone is there for the shows and crafts. I don't have photos of the craft booths, because there were signs all over saying no photos, and I can appreciate that. They're trying to sell stuff. Lots of cool things though, you can take my word for it or come see for yourself! Of course I couldn't leave without a visit to everyone's favourite cave in a theme park, Marvel Cave! Despite repeated warnings, I went chasing waterfalls. Front row on the tram! About to blast out of this here hole in the ground and rocket toward a gift shop. This is a great time of year to visit the park. The crafts are front and center, both the year round crafters and plenty of local artisans as well. Plus, look at those queue photos and tell me that's not beautiful.
  5. This month, Outlaw Run BUT I realize that I did not post in this thread in August even though I meant to, as the best roller coaster in August was STEEL VENGEANCE!!!
  6. ^^ Thanks! ^ Yeah, most of these pictures were taken just wandering around waiting for Knockback Nat's to open. Over the Rhine is a cool neighbourhood, I mean it has a park with a craft beer stand. The ballpark is great, and also American, so met expectations.
  7. Smaller trains are cheaper. I really don't expect there to be any other reasoning.

  9. OMG, you didn't even notice.
  10. Not quite (sad face). . didn’t get to do the mini-golf, and missed out on Skloosh, and the flume (no one wanted to get wet). . . also missed out on the motorboats. The water looked like a nasty brown (likely from the flooding), so seemed a good idea to steer away from it. Yeah...no, that's just what it looks like. In well over a decade of going every year...well, you always have the pool if you want clean water. Pool was closed still on our trip Lol, yeah the boat water isn't chlorine clean but it's fine. That flume is awesome. Sklooosh was down when I was there last year, but if it's like everything else at Knoebels, it's the best of its kind. Hey, still a really awesome day. And you'll go back to Knoebels.
  11. That person you made the video with, has she been they're two?
  12. Nice! Love all the random Japanese awesomeness. That KitKat display is epic.
  13. That photo is hilarious. And he's right in the middle of it.
  14. Looks like fun! I agree with you on Xclerator being a better ride than TTD. It's not as fast, but it's more complete. Boysenberry beer is the best. Hang Time looks really great. Gonna need to get back to Knott's soon.
  15. Fantastic! You got to do everything at Knoebels, and got some really good pictures too. That GlowPhest is a hoot.
  16. Great report so far! Much as they try, Atlanta and Charlotte just can't escape the South.
  17. I'm gonna guess it'll be replaced with El Diablo: Reverse Blast.
  18. Not anymore. They found a better power source.
  19. Great report! I've only ever heard good things about Monster Mansion, so I appreciate your critique. It is important for parents to know what they're getting into. I can imagine if after the nice calm music in Gobbler Getaway's queue, and going through a couple brightly coloured rooms of calling turkeys, you turned a corner and there's a slaughterhouse. That wouldn't be cool.
  20. Oh no! Flitzer was way better than it looked like it would be. And I'm not the only one with that opinion either.
  21. Looks like you had a great time! But of course you did, it's West Coast Bash!
  22. Yeah, same here. I disagreed with McCain on nearly every issue, but I had the greatest respect for him. Truly a loss. And f*ck Burt Reynolds. Glad he's gone.
  23. ^ Totally. I did experience that. Day 4: It's Familiar, But Not Too Familiar, But Not Too Not Familiar I took a break that Sunday for some sightseeing around Cincinnati. The last time I was here, I just had enough time for Kings Island, so I wanted to explore a bit of the city itself. I had timed the trip so that the Reds were playing in town, and that was the main event, but I went downtown a bit early to take in some of the sights and have a good lunch before the game. Some city goodness! Fountains FTW! I loved this fish, probably way more than I should. Such a cool sculpture. Cincinnati courthouse. Hell yes. This is the first church established in Cincinnati by German Catholic immigrants. Washington Park Just chillin' in the park with a good Cincinnati craft beer TPR! I looked up some good eats on Trip Advisor, and this place had the reputation for best wings in the city. It instantly became my destination. They had this really cool old map of Kings Island at the bar. Streetcar credit!!! Here I am at the Great American Ballpark! Hot mett credit! Ooh yeah I want that sexy bathroom. I want to walk in and turn on the light and see that toilet looking real nice. I'll be like "Oh baby toilet. You look damn fine today." Of course, going through West Virginia for the first time, I had to stop off at the Wheeling Suspension Bridge. I snapped a photo, then got back in the car, only to find that the next town over is called Triadelphia, which is Greek for... get ready... THREE BROTHERS!!! Historic bridge credit! Now it's time for "Things I Bought At Sheetz." Gas! I checked into the hotel that would be my home in Pittsburgh for the next few days. The next day would be the main event, my day at KENNYWOOD!!!!
