Uhg. I'm sure this will be a peach when I eventually visit. I look very young for a 31 year old. A few years ago some complete C*** of a server at Great America actually accused me of presenting a false ID, when I handed her my Illinois DL. That didn't go over well. Yeah, I've seen your pictures of pointing at stuff ( ), so I figured you'd need some fair warning. That sucks about the server. It's not really their place to make such an accusation. I've not served alcohol, but back in college I worked in a grocery store that sold package alcohol, and pretty much if you match the ID, and it wasn't obviously tampered with, you could buy it. What you did with it after you left the store wasn't our concern or responsibility; we had done our legal duty at that point. Some people just go on a power trip. -

They have the best Chickie's and Pete's of any Cedar Fair park I've been to (all of them in the Midwest and Knott's), but their beer policy is a bit wonky. Prepare for an interrogation about your personal data, and each person drinking must take the quiz. No carrying beer back to your wife. It's weird. Fun park though. Renegade is worth it on its own, and Wild Thing is pretty good too. The park isn't highly themed but is well cared for. I'd say go. -

I don't know but there are plenty of kiddy coasters they could probably derail. -

Are there any rides in New England that used to belong to Michael Jackson? Because they sure as hell would be going after one. -
It's not so much the Colbert mic drop that proves him right, it's the verifiability of his facts. You're fairly new to this forum, so I'll tell you that just having a strong opinion isn't going to cut it around here. You can absolutely have an opinion, even if it's unpopular. What won't cut it is saying that yours is the only valid opinion, or making up "facts" that aren't rooted in reality. If you aren't a fan of Valravn, cool. If you say that Valravn wasn't a good investment, that's BS, and you're going to be called out on it.

Height and drop are not the only record that can be broken or set... Of course not, but those were the two that were referenced above. The point was that just beating Valkyria's wouldn't be enough to claim those titles. Not like the records really matter anyway, but they are marketable, and SFMM tends to try to get them.

I for one an perfectly okay with SDC's coaster being in 2018, if that's indeed what's happening. First of all, it's a place where you don't even need to ride a coaster to have a great time. That's evidenced by their not needing to build any coasters for 14 years, and they didn't have a big one until 1993, 33 years after the park's founding. But more than that, the four big ones they have now are all coasters I can ride over and over again. Even Thunderation, the mildest of the 4, is still one of the best mine trains anywhere. I place it just above Adventure Express and just below Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I would certainly love a new coaster next year. Who wouldn't? Especially with SDC's track record, you know it's going to be great. But if it doesn't come, I'm just going to ride all the other rides there that are very good, and enjoy my time in the park with my family.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I know that the Florida Beer Company brews the Duff they serve at Universal Orlando (and it's pretty good). Who brews Hollywood's version? You know, I'm really not sure. I asked the bartender, and all she would say is that it's locally brewed exclusively for Universal Studios. So she either didn't know or wasn't allowed to say. All the official sources say it's local, proprietary, and exclusive, but nothing more specific. Kind of mysterious. If I had to guess, I'd say the most likely candidate is Ballast Point, as they're one of the larger microbreweries in SoCal, and have a large enough factory to supply the substantial volume USH would require. But that's just a guess; I really don't know. -
True Coaster Credits
ytterbiumanalyst replied to Angle O. Descent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really hope so! As much as we may have promoted the idea of "credit whoring" in the early days of TPR, I now want to promote the opposite of that. In short... Being a credit whore is stupid. Don't be stupid. Got it? Good! Spread that! Go fourth and spread the word. Which three people are going ahead of you?
