  1. Not really. It went on my list of "must visit when we get to Orlando" as soon as I found out it exists.
  2. We finally got some sun around noon. Should be nice through the weekend.
  3. Holy crap, this place really is as good as y'all say.
  4. I love that this thread just went from complaining about Cedar Fair advertising to Knoebels in 2 seconds flat.
  5. Congratulations! I'm noticing the place is open until 2AM on Fridays...and I'll be at Great Adventure on a Friday. They say select rides open on Fridays after 10PM--do you know if the coaster is one of them? I hear good things about those SBF Visa spinners.
  6. I'm thinking you really should ride in the back half.
  7. Last year I stayed at the Baymont across the highway. It's a great stay and cheap too.
  8. Sorry, the park doesn't allow children under 8 on the lantern tour. Guests of all ages are allowed on all other tours. This weekend is beautiful, but I-44's Gasconade River bridge has been closed the last couple of days because it's underwater. With heavy rains today, I doubt it will recede enough to reopen by this weekend. Looking at MoDOT's map (traveler.modot.org/map), it looks like 63 is clear. You'll get off in Rolla and take 63 to Cabool, then 60 west to Springfield and can pick up 65 from there. Keep in mind that 60 is flooded only on the westbound lanes between Rogersville and Springfield, and you'll be routed to the eastbound lanes. One lane in each direction is open. Prepare for a traffic jam (10mph or less, and you may be stopped for a time), but you can get through. I'd allot 4.5 hours to get to Branson this weekend. EDIT: And about 20 minutes after I wrote this, MoDOT announced the Gasconade River bridge is open again! Hopefully the rain today doesn't force it to close again. I'll leave my detour instructions up in case it does re-close.
  9. Ninja is absolutely terrible, but it has now been upgraded to second worst coaster I've ridden thanks to the demonspawn that is T3.
  10. This new land looks fantastic! My oldest daughter would love that tail.
  11. T3 at Kentucky Kingdom. The new restraints were at least comfortable, but the trains shuffle roughly on the track throughout the course. Gave me a headache.
  12. This sounds interesting. By floating, do you mean you're falling as fast as the rain is?
  13. This looks like a very cool place. I didn't know it existed, so thank you!
  14. It's been raining for days. We're under a flash flood watch, all low water bridges have been uncrossable since Friday, and they're now closing lanes on the Interstate due to flooding.
  15. That's a great use of the 360 camera! I saw Avatar, and although the plot was terrible, the plant life was very impressive. The park seems to have captured this perfectly. Definitely will be visiting this land when we make it to Orlando.
  16. Any park that allows you to do some spelunking is a special place. This park looks like a lot of fun, and it's one you don't see too often. Thanks so much for taking the time to write up this trip report!
  17. Sounds just like the system they have at SDC. Maybe not as great as the Qbot, but big improvement over the wristband.
  18. To be fair, opening day is much, much later than most other parks.
  19. Because even if they don't check, the stuff in your pockets is still subject to Newton's laws of motion. The real question is why you would think it's a good idea to take stuff on a drop tower in an unzippered pocket.
  20. He's not talking about taking a trip to those parks. He's talking about wanting to move to a place near those parks.
  21. They're not bad, but let's be honest: HFE dominates in having rides open day one. Lightning Rod is the first ride in about 10 years that didn't.
