  1. Yeah, I had wondered when I posted that if people would catch on. Fahrenheit
  2. I for one would celebrate the demise of Boomerang, but I would love for it to be replaced by something with a height limit lower than 48". Currently all that younger kids can ride there is Spinning Dragons and a wacky worm.
  3. Wow, looks great! I haven't paid much attention to SFNE, since it's about 1200 miles from me and there are about 8 Six Flags parks closer, but it looks really nice. I wish they all had landscaping like that.
  4. Yes! Interpol are one of my favourites.
  5. You went to Indiana in June and are upset there was lightning?
  6. I love it when you're bored--awesomeness results. Thanks for putting that together.
  7. Looks really good! I like how they're using the old runout area for the queue.
  8. Believe it or not, the drop is only 65°. Certainly feels a lot steeper than that. It has mad airtime on that drop in the back.
  9. Since it's been a couple of years since I've been there, I'm anticipating going back, and the coasters I'm thinking about are probably the ones I enjoyed the most. Millennium Force Magnum XL-200 Maverick Raptor Gatekeeper Top Thrill Dragster Valravn Gemini The rest just aren't on the same level for me. The above list are the ones I really want to ride again.
  10. ^^ Both alpine coasters are good, but I agree with Michael that I like Runaway Mountain a bit more. Why not go for both? You're in Branson, SDC closes early in the evening, and it's $15 for each coaster. Go for it! The fountains at Branson Lansing are really cool. They're programmed, so there's not a difference from one show to the next. Go sit on the patio at Big Whiskey's with a White River beer amd watch the fountains. You won't be disappointed.
  11. Got to be honest, this was the first thing I thought of: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  12. Most waterparks recycle most of their water. It's not like they're going through hundreds of thousands of gallons a day.
  13. Well, I now know when my next PA trip will be....
  14. Do you have a link? Not seing anything in Google about it, and FC's website still says they're not accepting SF passes this year but will next year.
  15. Interesting. Not surprised the building had damage. It really looked like it was falling apart. Granted, everything at SDC looks like it's falling apart, but in this case it wasn't intentional. Didn't know that about Reunion Hall. The park certainly had good attendance. It wasn't packed, but seemed like normal summer Sunday attendance to me. Hmm. TT was running two trains, and both had all 8 rows open.
  16. ^ You didn't dislike it, and that's the point. I'm sure you would agree it's the best floorless that has a floor. That's not fair. And where ARE all the Dr. Who Major-Awesome-OMG Attractions ETC in the World....? Somebody needs to get on that.
  17. Oh man, that really sucks. Definitely will be thinking of you guys.
  18. SDC is having Season Passholder Appreciation Days this week, and we went on Sunday to enjoy somewhat shorter lines on Time Traveler and other rides. My wife finally got to ride Time Traveler due to the shorter lines, as she wouldn't wait the hour and a half it's been on our previous trips. She thought it was ok but not as good as Wildfire, which is her favourite coaster. For those who haven't been on it, Wildfire is legit. The only coaster of that type that I've heard as much universal praise for is Kumba. Basically no one dislikes Wildfire. Anyway, here is the evidence: Evan hasn't noticed us standing at the exit yet. Prepare for wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff! This is a wibble. Or a wobble. I forget. Just keep spinning...just keep spinning... She's actually waving here. Also, I didn't expect this, but I have some construction to report. Jack's Sandwich Board, an old restaurant that's been SBNO for years now, has been demolished! What could be in store for this area next year? Oh? What could be in here? Construction porn! And now for a rare bit of criticism. I know what you're thinking: "But I came here for a glowing review of the best park between the Mississippi and the Rockies!" And you would be right. Hold on to your butts, we're going negative here. SDC's app had listed a Family Buffet in the Reunion Hall on the square. Four. Kinds. Of. Mac. And. Cheese. You would think they wouldn't promise something like that and then yell "Psych!" and actually provide not only zero kinds of mac and cheese but in fact zero kinds of anything at all, but that is precisely what was behind the locked door to Reunion Hall. Well, it's June 3 at 11:30... ...and nothing going on here. At all. Yeah, I've never seen this before. Don't know what was up. We just went to the Mine and had a great time with barbecue chicken with all the fixins, including one kind of mac and cheese. So it turned out all right in the end, and we'll be back soon. Hope they decide to put that buffet together by then. Thanks for reading!
  19. That sounds it was an awesome hole in the wall place. Kind of the same thing that happened to Boulevard in KC. I'm going to be selfish here and say I love that they're bigger now because they can ship their stuff to me.
  20. Yeah, both are great. I think I like the Tangiers a little more, as it's more on the bitter side, which I prefer. The Nu Skool has a shandyish element to it that's really interesting. I had their IPA and 2XIPA in Ohio, and those two are the whole reason I've been keeping an eye out for their stuff around here ever since.
  21. Uhhhhh. Call me crazy, but I don't think there were online theme park forums in 1993... Usenet has been around a long time. Which i still use to this day. Yep, this. To the OP, there were Internet forums before there were websites. Let that rattle around in your brain a bit. This line of thinking is completely wrong. Labelling a generation as characterized by any one aspect has always been wrong. It was wrong when the baby boomers said our generation was lazy, it was wrong when their parents said they were lazy, and it's wrong for us to say it about the next generation too. And yeah, I also got a job at $5.15 in 1999 at age 15. Saying "Millennials are like this" is exactly the same as saying "Geminis are like this" or "People born in the Year ofthe Rabbit are like this." It's just as useless and just as wrong.
  22. You went on a weekday before school was out, so that factors into it. On weekends it's a lot of families, and during summer you see a better mix of people. SDC truly is for everyone. It's weird when we travel and see almost nothing but groups of teenagers--SDC doesn't really have that demographic.
  23. And riders didn't notice the bump because it was less rough than usual.
