Maybe they could use a fast lift hill so it has some speed when it starts the drop? Or they could do a downhill magnetic launch... I read somewhere that Leviathan has one of the faster B&M lifts, which is approximately 4.5 m/s. If Fury 325's lift were to be 4.5 m/s, the final speed would be 98.8 m/h. These number exclude any friction & air resistance from the equation. So the real thing wouldn't actually clock in at these speeds. -

Dippin' Dots guy told me that CP was due for an Inverted Aquatrax! In all seriousness, parks keep things like this under wraps, and don't go around telling their employees. -

^I don't know about 100. But a 325 foot drop could theoretically achieve 98.6 mph. -

^This is a B&M speed coaster so of course there will be camelbacks, everyone loves airtime. However, Intimidator is nothing but standard camelbacks. This layout indicates lots of curves and not too much time moving in a straight line. So the riding experience should at least vary more than that of Levi/Behe. My rough idea. -

Intimidator is nothing but camelback after camelback in a straight line. What about that layout gives you that idea? -
^Rides are built to run a certain way. Tatsu had to switch to a new type of wheel (can't remember which kind specifically) during testing due to it going over speed. Even though it was a minimal over-speed, the ride had to perform exactly how it was designed to run or else everything would need to be re-calculated. Goliath was designed to provide X amount of forces here with X amount of speed there. Change the materials, and you could end up with something different. Why would a park want to pay for something that isn't even accurate? Of course parks could work with the ride's manufacturer to enhance the ride by proving small changes such as wheel design. But then you end up with a coaster doing something greater than what it was designed for, which ultimately results in upping the maintenance.

The Leviathan/Behemoth argument is legit, but this layout looks nothing like Intimidator. Source -

I think this takes the cake as the worst CF coaster name. Fury 325. Wrath sounds 100X better. -

A Disk'O doesn't do it. The coaster boys don't go there when it's just a bunch of flats. Since CP Is my HOME park, I do go to it often. I think you're forgetting Cedar Point DOES indeed have a family market. Hence why there are three children areas, multiple family attractions around the park, and CP offers a variety of family packages. If coasters were the only thing that brought guests in ever, every park would be like Magic Mountain. Why would a park waste money with family rides if there was no market for it? -

I would guess they record the angle of the drop after the barrel roll. Things such as drop angles are calculated during the designing phase. And yeah, I would assume after the barrel roll. -

Just did some more research on Rougarou. Apparently, the Rougarou is under a spell for 101 days. A coaster with a drop of 325+ feet could achieve speeds of approximately 101 mph. Just throwing that out there.... -

Source Sheikra track. RCDB Dive Coaster? This is most likely something with a wide train (Dive/Wing). Those are the only type of B&M tracks that I've found that prodominently use flat cross ties

Devin Smith - Valley Hills spokesperson The 2005 operating season officially came to a close last month, and now the numbers are in! Attendance rose 1% this season or 18,146 people. With a grand total of 1,832,712 visitors in 2005. Average in-park guest per capita spending also rose 6% or $2.35 this season, totaling $41.55 per guest. The season pass sales were also the strongest Valley Hills has seen yet. Also, Coasters Restaurant was received well by the public & was the highest earning vendor in the park this season. 2005 was a financial success for Valley Hills! Now that the off season has arrived, it's time to begin making preparations for next season. Pulse is receiving some very heavy off season maintenance this year. Pulse's vertical twists have been removed!? (pictured) I can't say much more about this, but your'e in for a big surprise in 2006. Stay tuned! Elsewhere in the park, heavy ground work begins..... Something BIG is coming to the Valley! -Devin Smith -

This is the second set of lockers at Valley Hills. They're breeding. Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to try something simple, yet eye-catching. Coaster's Restaurant fits that to a T. Well, at least that's what I think of it. >.< How many fixes does it take to get a GIB up and running? The world may never know... Thank you.
