  1. I find Blue Streak to be more uncomfortable than MS. To each their own...
  2. It's unfortunate that Sandra had an unpleasant experience, especially since she visited on a whim. I like the look of the pathways and how the scenery / shrubbery blends in with it, nice aesthetics overall. It's odd that Go-Karts & Topaz Whip were down for the day with no explanation. But I do wonder what could be keeping Beehive Down The boardwalk area seems very serene and calm, it maintains the "vibe" of the park well. Although I still do think that a flat-prominent boardwalk area would be a huge crowd draw for the park. The Rocky Mountain Elk seems to be the only thing that could really attract crowds from a distance. Eagerly awaiting the next update! new message
  3. It also saves the park the headache of purchasing a ride from scratch. They get something that is pre-built and simply have to relocate it. Also, not every park is on the same budget, so getting a ride for even $2 or $5 million cheaper is ideal.
  4. Once again, Coaster Express.
  5. Rule of thumb; used things are cheaper. Why pay more when you don't have to?
  6. ^Excellent. This could be something spectacular. Your coaster is finished.
  7. You enjoy doing the physics booklets from parks
  8. Boardwalk area should be nice. Did you get my message?
  9. I would be cheaper to just re-do Mean Streak with RMC than to completely demolish, and create a new coaster from scratch.
  10. Kingda Ka's official structure height is listed at 137m due to it sitting on 2m footers.
  11. Devin Smith - park spokesperson Coasters Restaurant isn't the only change being made to the Valley. Multiple rides will receive a new branding this season under new names, themes and colors. Batman: The Ride will be re-themed into IGNITION, sporting an enhanced color scheme. Catwoman's Whip will be re-branded as Scrambler, and Camp Looney Tunes will be transformed into the friendly PEANUTS themed Camp Snoopy with all new names for its attractions. Superman: Ultimate Escape will undergo extensive maintenance, and is expected to re-open in July under its new Pulse moniker We look forward to seeing you all on Valley Hills' 32nd annual opening day! -Devin Smith Don't forget to check out the all new website! © 2004 Cedar Fair Entertainment Company | © 2004 Peanuts Worldwide LLC
  12. I tried to omit as much generic-ness as possible. This park will return to it's roots, that's always been the plan. But with a modern twist. Yes, Coasters Restaurant! Hopefulyy, Cedar Fair puts some effort into this one. I would'nt like to see Valley Hills turn into the next GL.
  13. Nowadays, if it doesn't make you grey-out or eject you from your seat, a coaster is considered bland. Obviously, money talks louder as parks (who know more about the industry) continue to spend big bucks on beemers. I find everyone's opinion about the company irrelevant, as they still produce multiple coasters on a yearly basis. Supply & demand > enthusiast's opinion
  14. I would say it is light floater, like on B&M hypers. Only you don't really feel it because the restraint, by then, is really tight, but I did notice there was some. It seems there is some very light floater air. My calculations were correct, I thank you all.
  15. 5 cm difference? I sense a few lawsuits coming from this. May God be with the passengers... So this "company" just creates concepts. The real work is the calculations behind the 3D-renderings, that is the deciding factor of anything built ever. Pretty aesthetics are only the end results of these fined-tuned calculations. No limits is the RCT3 of real coaster design. I can see why a knock-off company would go for something as professional as this. Good luck to CoasterLab, and I pray they don't find themselves in court with GH.
  16. Monday, October 25, 2004 Kevin Richards - Chief financial officer Six Flags Theme Parks Inc. officially terminated their contract with Valley Hills amusement park on October 1. This includes all licences and property's associated with the theme park company. The City board was beginning to make final preparations on what to do with the park when they received a very interesting phone call on October 10. The persons on the other side of the call ask to remain discreet for the time being. However, the City board seems very interested with the mystery company that has made an irresistible offer. The City board has been very cooperative so far, they have to take what they can get now. So far, the company has agreed to pay for the Amusement Park, the land and assume the parks debt. However, they demand that the land have minimal zoning restrictions, and all previous City involvement with the park to be terminated. They also demand that the City government's only involvement will be in collecting taxes as they see the City as being ill-advised, inexperienced ,and closed-minded. They find the City board as a corrupt group of people that shouldn't have such an influence over a $150 million dollar property. The discreet company has also offered a 7-year $15 million-plus investment plan to increase revenue and attendance by at least another 20 percent, while also improving upon the park's infrastructure. The company has a lengthy experience in the amusement industry, and is using it's knowledge of the industry to to persuade the City board that they are well-equipped for management. The City board seems very confident in this company and have until November 10th to make a decision. ___________________________ Friday, November 12, 2004 Kevin Richards - Chief financial officer Luckily, Valley Hills is a place I can return to.
  17. What do you mean? My coasters need more color. It's going to take more than a few dense City board members to destroy Valley Hills' amusement empire. You mean Ed Hart might take over? Would be fun. ^Yeah, kind of, but having the park stay closed for a few years until someone like Ed Hart takes over the park and reopens it! Intriguing. Thank you all for comments. Don't worry, Valley Hills isn't going anywhere anytime soon. All part of the story. I thought I'd add a little spice to the story-telling as this era was meant to be rather 'bland' when compared to previous years. Now that this phase (Six Flags) is over, Valley Hills will (well, at least I'm planning on) return to it's classic feel, with a modern twist.
  18. A few notes I'd like to make Food Overall, I find that this park has top-notch food vendors, especially considering it's size and age. Buffet U.S.A. is a nice sit-down buffet with a decent atmosphere. Alpine Cafe also is another notable eatery. Although I do wonder if this park offers any typical park food; Funnel cakes, pizza, cotton candy? Flats Rotor fits into this park well (it's actually a decent in-game flat that goes good with almost anything). The Merry-Go-Round is ideal for a park like this - wonderful choice. Although, I do wish to see some more foliage around the bases of some flats, particularly MGR & Ferris wheel. Some bushes and shrubs, along with path edges (which you've already mentioned the park is working on for next season) would make the rides look more appealing. Well, at least in a visual aspect. Topaz Whip really reinforces the park as a family-day destination (well, that's how it seems to me). That's a excellent CS piece, and looks stunning inside Topaz Park. Skydive is an'iconic' attraction for the park, and is placed well to give excellent panoramic views. Coasters Beehive. I know this is your park, but I personally find the multiple parts about this ride unnecessary, wonky, and really out of place. I could re-profile this coaster for your if you'd like, to make it more realistic, as I find numerous issues with it. P.M. me if your interested. Rocky Mountain Elk is a nice A.S. coaster, with a unique and twisted design. Although, the ground paint could use some diversity, and maybe a splash of foliage. This coaster could really benefit from some foliage, use the environment to your advantage! Anyways, that was my very detailed opinion of this park so far. I do like the direction that the Boardwalk could take Topaz Park, and will be awaiting the next update.
  19. Chinese Knockoff Company comes with Chinese Knockoff quality. I'll pass.
  20. Nice start to Topaz park, it has a small collection of rides that suits this park well. Topaz Park has that 'small park' vibe to it, small and country-like, yet still feels roomy. Try adding some more pizzazz to your paths; borders & benches would easily do the trick. This park has limitless potential, and would look even better with a few more flats. Looking great!
  21. Question. What would one consider the airtime on Kingda Ka's camleback hill? Is it light floater air, comparable to B&M hypers? Personal physics project.
  22. Source As you can see, Dragon Fire isn't as big an obstacle as you made it seem. Canada's Wonderland / Cedar Fair wanted something tall, and B&M delivered a product that could do that efficiently. Yes, any other park could receive the 'standard' issue lift. But you have to admit that this seems to be very effective & efficient, especially when working with these heights. I305 is also proof of this. Also, notice how the radius is small for a lengthy train, such as a Hyper. _koppen has already explained this in his previous post.
