  1. ^Oh, okay. The Pacific ocean next door opens up worlds of opportunity for the Caribbean Cove area. My interest has peaked.
  2. This is a beautifully decorated park. Lots of shrubs, flowers and trees. Creates a very cozy and secluded backdrop for the park. The pavilion area is my favorite, absolutely gorgeous. It's unfortunate the Walaba Lake Flitzer experiecned an ejection, but this goes to show how extreme the ride is. Luckily, only better restraints were added, and no trims. Interesting that you chose the 1930's time period (Great Depression). This could be a rather difficult venture, but it should add some spice to the story.
  3. Any park with a classic arrow hyper is already an instant win! I appreciate your attention to detail with the queues. I know they are nothing more than aesthetics, but it helps with the realism. I'm intrigued as to what else the park has to offer.
  4. I hope the new Caribbean Cove area attracts lots of visitors ($$$) to the park. It introduces two classic flats and a world's first water ride. Lots to do there! I do worry that the GP wont find much of a difference between the two similarly themed Caribbean and Adventure themed areas. I'll just let them decide for themselves... A Caribbean themed eatery would make that area even more well rounded, just my 2c.
  5. Geez. 2014 isn't the best time to be visiting Amusement Parks.
  6. A little change of pace with this update. GhostRider RMC Iron Horse conversion. This is a WORK IN PROGRESS (however, all the Gs are in check) 37.5 meters tall, 1058.9 meters long, 2 inversions, 77° drop, 58 mph, +4 Gs max. First turnaround section has a 90° banked camelback followed by a banked u-turn into a barrel roll off the plateau. 13 moments of airtime. Ranging from -0.8 to -0.3 WIP POV.
  7. ^ Thanks. Much more coming soon.
  8. Why can't it be the best steel coaster ever? Kolmarden is building their very first wood coaster and they claim it will be the best thing ever. I'm just excited to get back there soon, it will be great no matter if its the best ever or just a solid ride. For some people, if it's not Intimidator 305, it can't be a 5-star coaster. Even though there IS much more to a coaster than intensity. Expedition Everest, Gemini, Wild Eagle, Veil of Dark etc.
  9. I don't think anyone is taking this seriously.
  10. Wicked Twister. Need I say more?
  11. Saturday, May 20, 2006 Jessica Hill - coaster enthusiast Valley Hills opened last weekend to some heavy crowds, especially with their new attractions. Luckily, I brought my camera this time. So rejoice in this photo trip report! One of the first new things I noticed this season was Pulse. The ride now has one straight tower & one twisty tower. This new version of Pulse kicks a$$! The coaster pauses for a second while you face the ground. This was my favorite part about V2, and I'm ecstatic that Valley Hills has an even bigger version. This section seems to have gotten a beefier support package, similar to Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. This must be due to all the swaying it was experiencing before. Luckily, I was able to ride Pulse before the line became ridiculous (55 minutes). The new Pulse is already a hit with the GP. Sun Spin received some love this off season with an all new red, white & blue color package. Now it is known as Patriot, and I think it matches up nicely with Parachute Tower next door. I absolutely adore this new color scheme! However, I do wonder if this was Valley Hills' doing, or CF wanting to bring a piece of WOF to the Valley? (what is that in the background?) Ah, yes. How could I forget? The new headline attraction for '06, Cardinal. Valley Hills claims another record with this one. Cardinal is the worlds largest HUSS Giant Frisbee. The ride reaches heights of 148 feet at 122° Pictures do not do it justice! Cardinal is truly GIGANTIC!! Fun Fact: The midways of the park are now connected in a continuous loop. However, this new segment is below ground level. It provides some much needed relief from the Sun. She's a beauty. (sign will be fixed later) Not only does Cardinal provide lots of spinning, but also a few good pops of awkward, yet enjoyable, airtime. Alongside Cardinal, a new lockers and restroom facility have been installed. Valley Hills just keeps adding these left and right. Also new this year, Snoopy's Bounce House located in Camp Snoopy. It's your standard trampoline-esque attraction you find at the carnival, but with a $5 upcharge. (what's that I see in the backround?) Déjà Vu was up and running today. I wonder how long this will last? I'll give it two weeks, tops. Cardinal looks even better when lit up at night. One last look at Cardinal & Patriot. Jessica Hill
  12. Since no one was able to decipher the teasers, I will reveal their hidden messages. 1st & 2nd puzzle pieces This relates to the attraction, which you will see in my following post 3rd puzzle piece Pulse will go from free-fall (9.80665 m/s) to suddenly hitting 0. Again, you will see what I mean in my following post.
  13. This is may be another reason why so many enthusiasts find Wing Coasters a little on the weak side. Wing Coasters have a wide train design. Therefore; all rotations will produce lateral forces. And the only way to reduce this is by making elements long and drawn out since the train cant simply rotate around the heart-line.
  14. Every park has its ups and downs. Not every business is successful (or pulling in the numbers they want) all the time.
  15. The question still begs: when will she get new paint?
  16. I guess you're right that they could Iron Horse it in that way, but I personally would rather have a new RMC built from scratch because they'd have a lot more freedom to get creative with it. Contradiction? You can get much more creative when being limited by what's already there instead of having a blank canvas to work from. Plus it would be a lot cheaper to just give it the RMC treatment rather than to demolish and start from scratch.
  17. ^Similar overall design, yes. I'm glad to see B&M trying to spice up their hammerhead turn. The one for Carowinds2015 seems to be inside banked. Similar to Leviathan's. Source While, Nitro's is simply a hill with a curved drop. Source
  18. No Limits representation of the first drop + turn.
  19. I think you may have the first and last turn mixed up.
  20. The drop could indeed be bigger. I'll break this down for you. For a 325 foot drop to achieve 100 mph, the lift would need to be at least 28.2 m/s, or 63 mph. a.k.a. not happening. The drop would need to be approximately 102 meters or 334.4 feet to achieve 100 mph. Again, this omits any friction and air resistance.
  21. For the love of the Intamin Gods, please do SOMETHING with ma' Mean Streak. It deserves some lovin' Now I'm going to take this with a grain of salt for now. I hope it's a water-coaster/slide for Soak City. That place could really use some newer attractions.
  22. Hair Raiser, Sky Scrapper, and Banshee are some excellent B&M coasters built lately. This coasters blueprints do look promising, I just hope this ends up kicking some a$$.
