I would have loved that theme 1000% more. -
I forgot to mention that I got the MoviePass about 5 months ago and it's been AMAZING! For those that don't know, it $9.99 per month, or $89 per year, and you can see up to one 2d movie a day (No 3d, Imax, or special screenings). In the past 5 months, I have seen 29 movies, and only paid $50! Our movies average about $10, so I've saved approximately $240! I rarely get popcorn and drinks, so I still save a ton. Costco has(had?) a special where if you pre-paid for the year, you got access to some online movie website that I never heard of. However, the only warning I have about the MoviePass is that their customer service is absolutely horrendous. Luckily, I've never had to contact them and everything has worked great, but some of my friends had issues and MoviePass was horrendous to deal with. It's been amazing, and it does work at our theaters for the Flashback movies they show, and even for the DFX ATMOS special sound theaters that are a little more money (as long as they're not 3D or IMAX). Anyway, here are some movies I've seen the past month. Greatest Showman - I loved it! Great soundtrack, great movie! Shape of Water- Top 5 for WORST movie I've ever seen. So many people like it, but it was so terrible. I couldn't wait for it to end. Jumanji - It was entertaining. Nothing great, but a nice modern update to the movie. Paddington 2 - It really liked this one. I didn't see the first one until I was on Netflix and I was pleasantly surprised. The second one was good and pretty funny. There were a few times when I laughed out loud a little. Darkest Hour - I love historical movies and this one was pretty good. It was a good look at a part of history I never really knew. I know the Winston Churchill during and after the war, but didn't know much about him leading up to the war. Star Wars - It was good! Yeah, there were some things that could have been better, but it was much better than Episodes 1-3, and it was still a fun movie. I don't understand all the hate it got.

This cruise ship screams of terrible parents and terrible children. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/cartoon-network-cruise-ship/index.html Cruise ships aren't for everyone. Cartoon-themed cruise ships aimed at families with young kids even less so. But for fans of animation broadcaster Cartoon Network, a colorful new branded cruise liner -- Cartoon Network Wave -- is about to float their boats. The newly announced ship, which embarks on its maiden voyage from Singapore in late 2018, will draw inspiration from popular shows to create a kid-oriented experience at sea. Its 800 cabins are inspired by shows such as "Adventure Time" and "Ben 10," while 11 entertainment decks will host themed nights including circus shows and parties with the Powerpuff Girls. The ship will be the latest of several new oceangoing options for families with kids. Disney has just announced the return of two favorite cruise options. Its popular "Star Wars" and "Marvel" sea adventures will be on offer on select Disney cruises in 2018 and 2019. This colorful new ship is emblazoned with Cartoon Network star Jake the Dog. Cartoon Network's ship will be dominated by images of Jake the Dog -- the star of "Adventure Time" -- with others dotted around restaurants and bars. There's also a rope adventure park and an outdoor "Young Tooniverse" space for kids to play in. There will be some great entertainment options on this fantastic new ship. The cruise is the product of a partnership between Oceanic Group and Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of Cartoon Network and CNN. "Turner is always looking at new ways to bring our characters to life -- and Cartoon Network Wave will be their home on the high seas," says Ricky Ow, president of Turner Asia Pacific. Cartoon Network Wave will have its maiden voyage in late 2018. Pictured here: Artist impression of Cartoon Network Wave. All illustrations are subject to change without prior notice. Cartoon Network Wave will sail to 13 destinations across the Asia Pacific Region, including Singapore, Malaysia and China.

Nice report! The new ride is looking really good! -
Yeah, I would get a season pass as well. If you have 4 or more people, you can get them for $65 each, and it's upgraded to Gold with free parking. As for New Year's Day, it's pretty good at opening, but get's pretty busy later on. Most people are too tired in the morning and hung over to get the park at opening. However, the park doesn't open until 11 am so it won't be dead, but not too bad in the morning.

Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks

Sounds good! I absolutely love Carne Asada. -
Can that happen with $85 season passes? It can, so long as those people who have $85 passes are spending money each time they visit the park. That's where the problem lies---if you are ONLY known for roller coasters, people don't care to spend money. You do need all the other things to make the complete package, which is where SFMM is lacking. I pay the $8/month for my membership, yet only go every few months just to ride a few rides and leave. Talking about new areas in need of maintenance---when is the last time the water jets worked in YOLOPlaza? I'm sure if I bothered to go to the park more than once every few months I could find plenty more. Completely agree! SFMM has amazing coasters, but that's it. Everything else is done with half effort. If they stepped it up, they could be a huge competitor. When you visit a ton of SF parks, it's obvious that SFMM is on the top end of great coasters, but near the bottom for theming and operations.

There are a ton of reasons why they can go in different orders. Theming can be one, but also the foundation can cause a lot of issues. Depending on the makeup of the ground and the size and depth of the concrete blocks, it can take longer to cure or to support the weight. We had a lot of issues when we were building our slides at the waterpark I used to work at. We were built on a landfill next to a river, so there were a lot of issues with curing the concrete and the sizing.

I think once they have the massive amounts of cash after Star Wars opens we will see something done with Tomorrowland. I'm thinking, and hoping, just a refresh. My dream would be to bring back the people mover, but that will never happen. Also, I hope that they finally put a ride or something good in the Carousel of Progress/Marvel Experience/Star Wars or whatever it is now, building.
