  1. ^ I was thinking the same thing. Tidal Wave was my first loop!
  2. Definitely a white elephant gift. They just keep shooting themselves in the foot. It seems they give new rides to places only as a last resort, instead of a constant flow and update to all parks to keep the money coming in. Sure some parks are not performing, but in the amusement industry you have to keep ahead of the game always, or be left behind like Great America. They let everything run down, get a few small flat rides every now and then, announce a woodie and then don't deliver, and they wonder why no one visits. They blame it on the locals, but it was busy when Marriott had it and updated it constantly.
  3. The bowl slides are pretty fun, but have a lot more risk. These concepts look good, but the first one does seem really unsafe. I hope they already figured it out instead of just rushing into production like most companies.
  4. ^^^thomas town is pretty small. I remember walking through during WCB 2 years ago thinking it would be a pretty decent area. Then when I saw it this year I though, that's it? They definitely need more. I think the wiggle world at SFNE is a good attempt though. But at SFMM they would have to spend a massive amount of money and space to be even considered by parents.
  5. Did you not do the WCB? The wife and I rode almost every ride twice, and 80% of the time there was only two other people or less. Glad you had fun though! I wouldn't be surprised if SFMM asked Robb and Elissa to plan it:)
  6. Exactly! I think cars was Pixar's worst. I mean not horrible, but not nearly as good as the others. I really wish the ride was an original concept versus the "synergy" stuff that Disney does (Don't get me started on Stich!) Disney has by far the best creative staff and I don't know why they don't let them free like they used to. Oh well. What do we know.
  7. It took a while to build up to the half and full lengths. I also love running because you don't need a gym. It's a great way to see different places when traveling. Also, Congratulations on buying a new house!
  8. Best: The wife and I having Disney Sea to ourselves during school finals. Rode Indy a couple of times with the car to ourselves, as well as Journey to the Center. Worst: Being stuck on Terminator with no shade in about 100 weather.
  9. Touringplans is a great sight. I've used it before and it is really accurate. I know Verizon is coming out with an app that helps you plan when you are actually there, but until it comes to iphone I will have to rely on touringplans and the tip boards.
  10. Three bad experiences for me. Rampage at Alabama Adventure - Being on the first ride of the train that tore the track up, along with the many donkey punch pot holes during ERT. Pirates at Disneyland - Being stuck for 30 minutes with screaming kids after a pretty big earthquake. We were the second boat from the end lift, so that damn pirate with the gun kept on shooting us. But the worst part was the song! It was pure torture. Terminator at SFMM - Being stuck on Terminator Salvation for about 20 minutes in 100+ heat right before the station track switch (so there was NO shade) without my sunglasses!
  11. I loved the Pictorium IMAX movies as a kid. I wish they still had it. It was also a great way to escape the heat in the middle of the day.
  12. I know the dye looks nice, but I always hated it when that one small wave would just be high enough to hit you in the face. The dye, and the millions of people spitting in it, always grossed me out. Glad it's finally getting finished though.
  13. I really hope that Disney doesn't pull a Hong Kong. I still can't believe they opened that park with barely anything in it. Ok, I can. Hey maybe they will build Robb a Hong Kong style Animal Kingdom! Not only will it be Robb's favorite park, but it will have 1/4 the rides, so in other words, the parking tram will be the only ride, 1 show, and 4 animals!
  14. Sigh I miss Thunderhead, but even more, CINNAMON BREAD!!! Great photos!
  15. Burton Bm Tech Polo Top - Men's Castlerock, M $34.05 from brociety It's just a long sleeve shirt.
  16. I love The Office, Amazing Race, Just For Laughs, The F-Word, and Kitchen Nightmares. No, The F-Word is not what your thinking. It's not a 2 am Cinemax show. Its an interesting show with Gordon Ramsey, In Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsey goes around and rips peoples heads off because they have the grossest/crappiest restaurants and then he helps them turn them around.
  17. I love running Disney races. They are a ton of fun, and a ton of people, like me, just run for the fun of it. I am slow in long distances so I just enjoy the scenery. But currently I am way out of shape. I sprained my ankle about a month ago and it's just starting to heal, and then my mom got really sick so I've been in the hospital every day for the past two weeks. I'm doing the Dopey challenge at WDW in two months so I have a lot of catching up to do. It's not an "official" race, but it's the Goofy challenge with the 5k thrown in on friday. In regards to ipods, I cannot run without it. I have a shuffle and went through about 15 pairs of earphones to find ones that worked. I think I got them in Japan, but they are spongy (they don't slip out and are comfortable to wear for a few hours), they have a clip (so the wire is attached to my shirt and doesn't bounce around), and they have a cord adjuster (to keep the wires close to my head/neck so they don't bounce and pull them out). I use racing as a way to justify traveling. Instead of just going on vacation to WDW, I sign up for the races as an incentive to lose weight, stay healthy, and make it a reward of sorts. Even my wife, who hates running, is now doing the half-marathons. I don't think she will ever do the full with me.
  18. That is impressive. I was there a little bit ago and it was about 20 minutes and I thought that was good!
  19. Oh the memories.....and the pain. All those repressed memories are coming back. The wheel incident, and the TPR gang initiation beating on Rampage. Those potholes on Rampage gave me a glimpse of what prison must be like It was like a gauntlet trying to make it through the whole day. It was so incredibly hot, and with rides like the space shot (off the wheel), and Rampage, and the Boomerang, you felt like they were trying to destroy you. And it is true, you did get wetter in the queue for the Rapids than on the actual ride! But we did survive, and had one of the best days of the trip. I had an incredible time, and I can't wait to go back for more! Can't wait for next years trips!
  20. You should have stayed for the Texas Trip! At the It'Z Family Center there was a Tail group there!!!! There were about 20 "tailers" enjoying the place. We all did a moment of silence for you!
  21. Is there an age limit? I used to work for six flags in that area a few years ago and am excited to see how things are, and who is left. Can't wait to go!
  22. I would have to say yes. There is nothing more plain and basic, than vanilla ice cream (Chocolate is sooo much better).
  23. Thanks a bunch. I know how extremely busy you are with Scandinavia around the corner. I would have gone but I'm in Japan, so if you stop by Japan on your way to Scandinavia (Since it's just a few hour plane ride away), give me a ring! Thanks again for the help!
  24. First time I looked, I only saw one and thought those "four" people were full of it. Well, I looked again, and now I am also a four! I say four!
  25. Signed up. Looks like a great site!
