Theme park Passes Thread
jray21 replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cedar Fair Platinum, Disneyland Premium, and Six Flags. Pictures are all too faded/grainy, and didn't scan well. Also, Knott's Berry Farm was out of the platinum pass cards when I went to process it, so I have a yellow card that causes a ton of headaches because none of the other cedar fair parks believe me when I say it's real. I'm about 9 hours from Knott's, but they were open before CGA. -
Does anyone use RSS feeds?
jray21 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I tried them once, but they just reminded me of emails. I used them only in relation to front page updates. They ended up being a chore to go through. It seemed easier to just go to the main pages for the information. -
Two things I noticed in the pictures. 1. "It also had numerous upgrades performed in the off-season." (Stratos-Fear) Wheels? 2. The Claw marks on the Rampage T-Shirt. It was more of a severe punch to the tailbone then a scratch. I was really hoping to get out there again this year, but things just fell through. I think the park is looking great, and can't wait to see what happens for next year!

I've had a lot of practice on some games while I worked at a park. I'm pretty good, and have won quite a bit, with the Wacky Wire, and the Bowling Ball Game. I've also won two iPod Shuffles on the stacker game. I'm ok at the milk can toss game, but will only attempt it at a park, not a carnival. I'm about 50/50 on basketball as well. The one game I hate is the ladder climbing game. I practiced a ton (we had one at our park), but I could never do it. But for some reason, little asian people had absolutely no problem with it! I'm 1/2 asian, but I guess I don't have the ladder balance gene. I forgot about the rings and bottle game. Yes it can, and has been won (I think it was the ring toss that was won by KT or Katherine at Kemah Boardwalk!) but it is absolutely luck, and it is next to impossible. Hence the largest prize. We once took the buckets of 50, and dumped the entire bucket from only about 3 inches above the bottles, and it took over 600 for one single ring to go around the bottle neck.

Elissa's Thoughts on the UK and Europe Trips!

Europa was an incredible park and a great surprise for me. I really didn't know much about the park before I arrived and I was blown away by everything. The theming, the food, and the rides were great. Blue Fire did seem a little slow, but it was very smooth and still a fun ride. The rest of the rides at the park were awesome, and I definitely have to go back sometime. The hotel was incredible, and it was so fun hanging out with everyone! Great report Elissa! -

Elissa's Thoughts on the UK and Europe Trips!

^^I would expect nothing less from Elissa! Those were some great times. So sad to be home. The hotels were amazing! I still can't believe what an incredible value this trip was with the hotels, the food, the Qbots, ERT! I was watching that volcano like nothing else! I was so nervous it was going to start up for our flight! Speaking of bus drivers, remember this guy!? -
Elissa's Thoughts on the UK and Europe Trips!

I can only compare Saw and Mystery Mine, because those are the only two I've been on, so take take this as you wish. I thought Saw was a lot smoother than Mystery Mine. Also, the theming was much better. Dead body squirting blood on you beats anything but sharks. I think Mystery Mine is still a great ride, and better than most, but I do give the nod to Saw. Also, my limited experience has taught me that with Eurofighters, the middle seats are better than the outside, and the front row is better than the back rows. Also, I did notice that certain trains were better than others. I had a really good time at Thorpe Park, and their employees were still much better than Disneyland Paris'. And seeing the dog crap on the Queen's front porch was awesome! Wagamama - I think we should all band together and solicit them to bring in a test location to the west coast(they do have some in the Boston Area)! -
I don't understand why they don't just keep the rides open. California Screamin' is on the non-viewing side anyway. Sure the sound bounces around, but during Fantasmic you can still hear Big Thunder, and Splash Mountain's Drop. I mean, it is still a theme park, not a broadway production in a Symphony Hall.

Elissa's Thoughts on the UK and Europe Trips!
jray21 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Elissa - Awesome report/thoughts! Robb - I Totally agree! The German Fair was a very "interesting" day because of some participants but that was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for me! People just need to realize that things like ERT do not just magically happen. It takes of TON of work to put things like that together. As for "Bonuses," the value of the trips themselves are by far the greatest bonus! For me, the bonuses are meeting new people, getting to ride a coaster 13 times in a row, not having to wait in most lines, laughing the entire trip, getting hair cuts by a world famous Brit, taking over planes, weird German Rapping, awesome movies, Wagamama, etc. I know, next trip, you should have the entire schedule empty, and just make each day a surprise park day. And instead of saying certain meals are included, make them all "bonus" meals Can't wait until you cover Europe! -
I still have a severe case of Post-TPR trip Coma. Have no desire to do anything.
