  2. An always difficult assessment, but; 1) Skyrush (back outside rt) 2) Phoenix (front) 3) Volcano:BC (front-obviously) Honorable mention: I305, Phantom's Revenge, Lightening Racer, Thunderhead
  3. Dollywood i believe on October 13th, and perhaps Knoebels the following weekend.
  4. Big Bad Wolf @ BGW in 98', I shall always miss that ride, it got my whole family "into" coasters.
  5. Alpengeist in 1998, at a time when the 2nd half of the ride rocked almost as good as the first...still a very special coaster to me.
  6. That would be Loch Ness Monster at BGW in 98', probably my fourth overall coaster at the time. And that led to my next coaster with inversions, Drachen Fire, a beast of a whole nother meaning and experience
  7. Verbolten at Christmastown last Friday night, the winds were blowing, the temp was falling, and the lights were spectacular! I still can't decide what storyline I enjoy most in the "Forest", but they all still entertain immensely.
  8. ^ & ^^ Thanks guys, it indeed helps very much, I appreciate it.
  9. In order: 1) Sea World Orlando 2) Busch Gardens Tampa 3) Hershey Park 4) Busch Gardens Williamsburg 5) Adventure Park USA 6) Knoebels 7) Six Flags America -One last trip to BGW for Christmastown next week for finishing 12'.
  10. Hey Chuck, first off, thanks for the consistently great level of seasonal updates you post faithfully on BGW's goings on. Your pics and captions are the best, kudos. I do have a couple thoughts/questions for you. I'm hitting Christmastown for the first time on Friday, the 21st with some fam that hasn't been there in awhile. Can I safely assume that it'll be quite busy if the weather is decent, but not as full as a Saturday? If it is packed is there any plan of attack that works better than others, or just be patient and work your way thorough the park as normal. Also, i've been reading some contradicting info on just how cold the temperature has to be for Verbolten to be running. One site said 40 degrees while another says they can run V down as low as 32. It's certainly not going to change our plans, but it would be nice to accurately know as to not get our hopes up to ride if the temp is closer to freezing than 40. I'm sure if anyone knows for sure it's you, so thanks beforehand for responding to my post, and Merry Christmas to you & yours.
  11. ^ Ha, I guess you weren't impressed, it ranks so low it didn't even make your list! Would it be your least fav B&M Invert?
  12. 1) Alpengeist 2) Montu 3) Afterburn 4) Talon 5) Great Bear 6) Fire 7) Ice 8) All the B:TR's -This is a historical list, Alpie isn't quite what she used to be, but who is? Back in the late 90's/2000, the 2nd half rocked like the first. -Actually had some sub-par rides on Montu this past May, but again, the overall years of rides on her rate very high. -Luved Afterburn, Talon, etc. -If I rated Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge as a "one" ride experience, i'd have to move it to #1, again, at least when they indeed still dueled. But separately, thay aren't in the same class as the top group...and I don't think they really were meant to be viewed that way, even if they are two credits...imo.
  13. Always a great discussion...always a hard decision, at least for me. In my top 10 steel, I have 4 Intamin, and 6 B&M's. Actually, all 4 Intamin are in my top 6, but still, i'd give the slight nod to B&M. Even counting their Flyers & Standups, the least fav types for enjoyment in my book, they are all so consistent in quality rides, if not "overthetop" excitement, I just have to make them the top dog in this comparo. My last B&M ride was ancient Apocalypse (Iron Wolf) last month at SFA, and at least from the front outside seat it was extremely fun, and even surprisingly a tad forceful. My last Intamin was S:ROS the same day, and she was just plain worn out. Give her the rehab IW just had and that would change things up, but B&M's seem to just keep going strong with the proper tlc...
  14. ^ Impressive... My first would be ol' Nessie at BGW. In 98' I believe, and my 4th coaster overall, at the time...blew this newbie away.
  15. Adventure Park USA this Sunday (car show, putt-putt, and The Wildcat), then Knoebels on Friday, October 5th...
  16. Standard: (Ranked by least discomfort) Carolina Cobra @ Carowinds Sidewinder @ Hershey Park Flashback @ SFNE Boomerang Coast to Coaster @ TGE GIB: Deja Vu @ SFOG
  17. #1: New York State Fair Parking Lot Coaster #50: Steamin' Demon @ SFGE #100: Skyrush @ HP
