Flamingo Land Discussion Thread

Great TR, making me wish for rain here in Florida! Also, this TR makes me look forward to doing Indiana Beach's Splash Battle during the midwest trip. Seriously, these rides look like awesome fun. -
Themeparkfan or Coasterfan?
Homer replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I consider myself a theme park fan. However, if I've been to the park thousands of times before, I just do the coasters and nothing else. Heck, I'll ride the noteworthy rides if need be. I also like taking pictures of some of the cheesy theming as well. -

^So do I, but we all have to work anyways...

Actually, I think a platform from the station comes out and climbs up the lift. But its a tiny platform that only one row can evacuate on. I think evacuating on an SLC would be scarier than the pain itself!

Man, if only I could get to Orlando. I want to get some Squishee, donuts, and Krusty-O's. Did you find a metal jagged O in your Krusty-O's? -
^Good for you. < I like girls. v Likes men and only men.

Just came back from seeing Transformers. It was awesome, nuff said. I'm still going WTF over how Shia LeBouf went from Disney Channel to main character in a blockbuster in less than 5 years. The robots were all badass, tons of explosions, and a nice cheap Bush joke in the beginning. Some bits of humor sprinkled throughout with badass fight scenes. Transformers = METAL!!

What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
Homer replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Homer's Top Ten (pre-Midwest Trip) 1. Kumba Its just a mindblowing and forceful ride. It never loses steam. The last helix blacks me out once in a while. If a coaster could blow my brains out, Kumba could do it any day. 2. Montu The first half, hands down, owns all other inverted coasters. And yes, I've ridden DD, Raptor, and Batman. That and the themed trenches were well done. 3. Dueling Dragons (Fire or Ice) Longest yet best themed queue ever. The ride, just as forceful and awesome as ever. I don't really have a preference as to what side but the ride in general is in my top 3. 4. Revenge of the Mummy Yet another awesomely themed queue, awesome airtime all over. Badass launch too. 5. SheiKra I have yet to ride the floorless version. However, I still hope the ride has kept its airtime. The Immelman's "Yay" airtime and the ejector on the second drop still better be there... 6. Mindbender Herr Actherbahn's greatest design ever. Forceful loops and a crazy dive that gives you the illusion of crashing into a waterfall. 7. Georgia Scorcher Best B&M Standup by far. Almost reminiscent of a Schwarzkopf design. Tight and forceful and I bet more headchoppers now thanks to Goliath. 8. Batman: The Ride Forceful old skool B&M. Although it is not as awesome as Montu. 9. Great American Scream Machine Out of the few woodies I have ridden this was the best at keeping a smile on my face and the mass of ejector air. 10. Half Pipe (Elitch Gardens) Fun yet short ride. It delivers a mix of air and spinning along with a fun little launch. The only peeve was that the ride hurts your shoulders. Other than that, it deserved a spot on my top ten. -
If I were Geico, I would have said, "Our insurance rates are cheaper than parking!" Great pics of SFGAm, glad you had a good time getting hopped up on Jolt.

Great Coasters on The Discovery Channel
Homer replied to Evan1127's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I saw an ad for this show over the past few days while watching and curious as to when the coaster episode will air. Will TiVo this episode, thanks for the heads up! -
Saw it on TV, yeah, I like watching that show from time to time, then again My Name is Earl is on at the same time. Anyways, I bet you didn't see this... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21366
