  1. Winner. Never ridden but Scream at SF:MM seems pretty sucky.
  2. When I was a kid there was the Jet Star (I know right) which was in the same place. Never rode Star Jet, but yes, the view was great. The ocean right in front of you, and the view of the pier. It was all superb. Also Jet Star was a classic, replaced by Star Jet, which has been repaced with the ocean.....tough luck for that space!
  3. M Force. How can you not love it? And the view is great the entire time up! Magnum is another great one.
  4. Retracked....by Vekoma...soooo is there even going to be improvement? I will admit, the new restraints on Sidewinder at Herhsye were a vast improvement. Going backwards into the cobra roll though, still cause some neck thrashing. Obviously that wasn't retracked though, with both maybe the ride will be fun : O
  5. Well we wouldn't be enthusiasts if we didn't care Does look pretty sweet. Can't wait to go this August. And hopefully it'll disperse the crowds a little better. There's usually not many in that area, maybe Gatekeeper will draw some of the ungodly mobs to that area. Although it may cause the lines for Wicked Twister to go up
  6. Remember we can only see the people that have posted there's in this thread! It'll probably go very high again, (was #3 in 2010) but I don't know if anything will overtake Bizarro. Curious to see where Skyrush will fall, as well as Leviathan and Shambhala. based on what ive seen in this thread (i know its not enough) but bizarro seems to be lower than it used to... about skyrush, shambhala and leviathan i'm pretty sure they will all rank high I mean hey, it's possible. I'd find it pretty funny that so many (or maybe just a vert vocal few) hate the ride with a passion and yadda yadda its the devil...they'd flip a lid if I305 ended up as #1!
  7. Well, I agree that we disagree! Riding some of the older B&Ms in the Orlando area those start to give you "hot ears" from the shake combined with the OTSRs. A launched B&M would be a good addition to their portfolio but would nevertheless prefer Intamin or Mack launchers - the restraints are better, the ride smoother and more forceful. Ah but as you say, older! I've never been on a B&M that rattled my head! Even Batman the Ride is still pretty smooth. Just the standing ones suck, but hurts the babymakers, not the noggin. While the Intamin ones are too flat...maybe I'm not describing it right but when I do get some thrashing it ends up chopping into my neck, bashing my shoulders! You are right about Intamin being more forceful though. I hear ya Wes, and their new innovation, the wing coaster just seems gimmcky to me. Havn't gotten much opinion but up to now I've heard it doesn't feel much more forceful/different than normal rides. As it's been said, they take supreme time and care for every coaster and new idea, and I love that but they are a bit slower as a result. I'm fine with it, but they are a bit traditional. Have they lost their cutting edge to Intamin?
  8. Not the closest to me, but I've never been on it either. Always looked cool too.

  10. Apparently the opening day is March 15. Sigh...will have the time not they $$, later in the year may have the $$ but not the time. 2014 it is...damn I'm jealous of those who will be going this year
  11. Damn it...this pains me even more I have zero chance of making it here in 2013
  12. In terms of just the actual launch...my best was Hypersonic XLC at Kings Dominion. 0-80 in 1.8 seconds, never felt anything so intense since. It didn't have that take off and accelerate feel, it was just a BOOM and you're at top speed feel. TTD/KK is great too in the other way, nice to feel yourself going faster and faster until you're at "oh god shouldnt be going this fast" Also KK front row gave me cheek flapping As for best actual launched coaster hmmm...Maverick. Best "pure" launch coaster: Storm Runner
  13. Yes, that is why I love them. It would be a beautiful thing, and B&M restraints are so much better than those Intamin ones. Let's hope a park takes them up on it soon!
  14. Well like I said No doubt it's gunna be awesome, and Im frantically trying to think of a way to get some fast cash by March 31st so I can ride this! Agreed, it looked cool in design but I thought maybe it'd be underwhelming but real life pics makes me think quite the opposite
  15. They are incomplete I know buuuut I kind of would like to see the trains stay open front like that, would be whacked out and scary Yeah the ride doesn't look to have much airtime as we think...just that one hill, but its short and goes 68 mph...my guess you'll be flying out of your seat just due to the speeds alone
  16. Is a surprise to me since, supposedly, they abhor launched coasters and didn't even design the one on the Hulk...but this has always been from the internet. I tend to take the word of enthusiasts but as someone above said, could be urban legend. Well good stuff! B&M is great but a little traditional...would love for them to get into the launched coaster game.
  17. AMAZING God...I know Im gunna blow my vaca days and $$ to go soon
  18. Maybe they don't want to not make guests [and enthusiasts] worry about it. It's a much better feeling having low expectations completely exceeded than having high expectations not met. I'm pretty sure that their priorities are in this order - train/chassis issues > station design > restraint system. Aww taken slightly out of context ; ) I was saying we all know parks like us to speculate and stay in the dark! I peronally had no issue with the original restraints anyway. I would kill for a less maddening station design though
  19. Yesss.... Still need the full, legit POV, this didn't give you a true sense of speed (I imagine it hauls major ass) Great though. RMC may be a force in the future, if not already.
  20. Same for me! Gunna be great, and between SFMM, SFNE and a few other parks here and there I should be able to hit the 100 mark
  21. Definite The yearlies: Herhsey Park and SF:GA New: SF:NE, Lake Compounce, Coney Island aka the Cylone, SF:MM Possibly Cedar Point Knotts Berry Farm (first 2 $$ dependant) Knoebels (if flying turns opens up than definite) Dorney Park (been a while) Quassy
  22. And trust me...Dominator wasn't that great. (Scrubs off all its speed way to quick, shame after its unique first half). Especially compared to Medusa or Kraken! I have always wondered how forceful the wingriders are. They don't seem very much so, but I think it's decieving in the POV because you can't really see track. Seems calm because its just air and scenery we see! No doubt the chopper effects are a big part of these rides, but its also big and fast, I bet this will be great.
  23. Well now, a park come out and tell us something? So we don't wildly speculate all winter? Aw now we know that's the life of an enthusiast. The issue isn't that the bar is flat, it is the angle of the bar. Since the point of contact with the rider is a thin surface area all the force is applied to that small area versus being distributed over a wider area of the thigh. Makes sense. Though I did hear they did modify them last year with a less hard material. Just a month after my first time it did seem greatly less painful. Hope they can do something to make it more comfortable, it really is Intamin's biggest issue.
  24. Cedar Point. Went with 3 of my best friends, and though they turned out to be very impatient, it was a great time...and we lucked out all waits were under 45 minutes (which seemed to be their threshold). 2 days at the park, did everything, often multiple times and finally got to ride Maverick after 2 failed attempts before. 4 times in a row! There was more to it, like stopping in Cleveland for some beers, stopping at Penn State randomly, for some beers, and sandwhiches at Primanti's in Pittsburgh. Was a helluva trip. Would love to get there every year, especially with Gatekeeper new this season, just hope they can learn to tolerate a line
  25. CT is a couple of hours away, and its a new park with perks? Sign me up
