Great post! And I know it's great to have variety and keep the families there but no doubt the choice of more thrill oriented rides is a wise one. A little sad to hear it's short...IDK the space available at SDC but I just imagined a huge sprawling coaster.

I'm also curious. Went cheap and didn't book a hotel and chose to stay with friends...and hour away. I forsee one VERY long day ahead for me. I'm in the same boat! Solo to KD so I need to hang with some of the TPR gang that day. IDK when email with details is coming but we do have ERT for I305, Volcano and Dominator right? Just bought tickets and same issues... If you guys want to hang out around the park let me know.... can't wait for the event!!! Funny I'm kind of a shy guy, not like me to just buy tickets to a coaster enthusiast event..let alone drive to VA by myself to meet with strangers. I think it'll be a good thing for me. Deff excited to meet some awesome people! I'm game to hang with anyone willing, just an FYI I didn't get fast pass. Though I guess I could when arriving at the park still.

I'd agree with no real point buuuuuut a launch on a woody!? HOLY shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Would be worth it just for the awesomeness. Can't believe no one has pushed the limits to a launched wooden coaster actually.

Confirmation! So f-in stoked. Thank god my job came through so I can afford this trip AND eating...and may be a busy weekend but it's gunna be worth it for all the ERT alone. Also I love the park

I believe there is also expected ERT for Volcano and Dominator? This will be one heullva day!

Huzzah! Finally...my first ride on I305 and I'll get to whore it like a champ. Makes up for the fact that apparently the trimmed airtime hill has really been beefed up. Well at least according to what "they" say

Depends how big a list. I easily have a top 5 and even have em ranked, but after that it gets really muddy. I have a list of coasters that are clearly better (like a top 10 or 15) but it's not really a list, more a pool! I've yet to add Maverick, I305, Bizarro and Boulder Dash, all of which should happen this year and that'll make things a lot more difficult. Agreed with some others, the list is for fun and I dont take it too seriously.

Yup Happiness is living with a few hours of SF:GA, Hersheypark, Dorney Park, Knoebels, SF:NE and even Kings Dominion not horribly far away. Oh and Boulder Dash and the Cyclone neither of which I've ridden! : (

How long has the wait for flying turns been? I think 4 or 5 years by now. Most hyped coaster of its time!

Quite a few of us went with Sharktopus. We should use our collective TPR might to get this officially named the sharktopus roll!

Looks like a fun little coaster, and its cool to see GCI breaking out. First with their really big rides, now a traditional out and back hilly kind? Awesome

There's all kinds of rumors flying around. I've heard its gunna be some epic terrain coaster that rivals Maverick and will be the longest coaster on Earth. There's also the record breaking inversion, and having multiples launches. If so 2013 will finally have to be the year I go to Cali! Well ok Im going anyway haha

It usually involves a cup of water and a roller coaster. The idea is to make it back to the station with some water still in the cup. Who needs water rides?

Well it was absolutely not great...just a "fun lil ride" Never done a wing rider so I'm obligated, I guess. ...twist my arm...

Random one, but I've been wondering and need the opinions of my fellow coasterholics. What do you count as a coaster cred? For example: Dominator at Geauga Lake now at KD. Steel Venom now at Dorney Park. If I've been on the former, then ride em at their new places, ya count this as a new cred? I mean this isn't a clone, but the same physical ride. IMO I probably wouldn't count a relocation as a "new" coaster but IDK, just wanna hear some opinions. Whadya guys think?

Sad thing is there's still way more trees, green and etc than SF:GA. That place is like an oven. I really do think it's more replacing old with new and better...over sacrificing mass appeal for teens. There was never a line for DT or the tower anyway. I'll miss DT but a huge wingrider sounds great!
