2021 TPR Coaster Poll Results!
JJLehto replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice! As always thanks for the epic amount of work that must go into this! Results overall are not real surprising but as always the fun is in the detail, and there are some surprising individual results. That's why I love these! So easy to follow the hype, or the shit talk, that makes so much buzz but the results are the results...and that is what matters The mass opinion. Also can't lie always feels nice when rides you really think get unfairly disliked/lack of hype (like Twisted Colossus, Wicked Cyclone) get some love. Though TC ahead of SV is a very unexpected result! With VC just opening, Iron Gwazi, Pantheon I am very curious for next year! Yall we live in great times, so many dope rides out there. -

I think my faith was right, seeing both that POV some rider cam vids looks like some more airtime than expected and both reactions and comments so far have been nothing but "that was really good!" Also wasn't someone saying that top hat was pointless/terrible? Looks to fly pretty quick over it I am waiting for all the enthusiasts that were meh on this to suddenly start gushing now lol But yeah I am pretty excited -

It's a fun ride and I'm a sucker for history (even though I get things change/wear out) so yeah glad it's still hanging around! And it looks kinda cool. -

Yes, that is all true lol But also like...the community is making the comparison, which is fine just seems a tad silly to me...They are clearly not the same league and (as we pride ourselves) we're not "GP" like...we're not supposed to be the "THIS IS A CLONE OF X" "This is just like Y but worse" clearly they are two different tiers of ride, similar but ya know just seems silly to compare. At least I get Skyrush/Candymonium as they're both hypers at the same park, though still a tad silly to me we all kinda know a B&M standard hyper is not an Intamin. But yeah to each their own, just I see no need to compare these two especially when it always ends with "VC is so clearly superior" duh, we all knew that XD Unrelated, I am now front loading my vaca much as possible due to a possible lead in the employment area, so I am now gunna do Sea World in Feb, day before I do universal. This will be Feb 20 so I can just squeeze it in! -

Yeah to each their own color is always a very personal preference thing, I do like it seem more sea monster-y but as long as it still rides good. I've heard in recent years its gotten a bit rough (though I never know what that means, sometimes one area w/ some rattle = this thing is death...and we all have different tolerances). I recall it was fairly forceful and intense but its been like 15 years lol And I do agree Ice Breaker looks superb. Its color, but layout! I know it's getting the "cool but..." to VC but it's not VC and never was, kinda unfair to even bother comparing. I am still stoked for it. (Bracing for probable let down XD) -

Enthusiasts really do have little faith sometimes (or just cant help but get jabs) I mean...they're gunna paint it and not leave it a random, rusty mess lol like it's still being constructed! -
Superb! Least based on the animated POVs....this felt like it may be the best dive at least in North America, as it looks more compact and doesn't have the MCBR that kills all its speed, (dont care, the 2nd dive is never that special and the rest of layout is always ass, would gladly take the lack of 2nd dive if it means no MCBR). We shall see I guess, at least it's a little different.

Nah man, I can say I never had any want to do that lol I like cold, but doing rides? I'm good fam. Barhopping though, different story! -
I do rather like those colors, will agree it feels a lot more alpine now! Though yeah a Griffon touch up would've been nice so it could stand out still. I really like the new Kraken colors as well, good job Sea World....on the paint choices, not so much opening your 2020 rides but who's salty? not me XD

These were my assumptions as well, and yes single rider is a god send! They have saved my butt on the HP ones for sure. Sooooo honestly I'm going mostly for VC and to a lesser extent Hagrid's as those are the new ones for me. I used to go to Universal every year (sometimes twice) so I don't feel a need to do everything, will of course do as much as I can. Likely gunna stick to IoA. Decided to mostly visit friends in Tallahassee and pop to Orlando for a day-ish, do the Fun Spots on my way out.

I mean the schedule was to be at 200+ in 2020. Can't quite help how life goes but hey, better late than never! I am lucky to be able to do it, I'm an idiot and didn't realize I had 10 more PTO days than I thought, some of which need to be used by March so I was like **** it, might as well go to Orlando and ride VC LOL BTW what is the deal with Universal and fast pass type things? Its a Feb weekday so I figure may not need one but then again its Presidents day long weekend. I probably will forego one, but just curious. OH wow little slow with that official POV but there ya go! Yes, its deff a tad sped up/theres an effect. On the illegal POV's Ive seen they deff dont look like that. I do kinda hate when parks fluff up their POVs like that but I also totally get why. I'll stick to the various not official ones XD

Yeah Im with ya, it adds ride length, and its not boring like a slow helix or just kinda meandering around, not sure what's not to like. (Though I think they made a similar comment about Pantheon so guess back and forth launching just aint their thing). Oof yeah...comfort collars, and for Ice Breaker, but not Pantheon...it's a choice XD That said still looking forward to this ride, prob more than I should and will be gravely disappointed, but flights and tix booked...I'll be here in late Feb! Kind of excited, last went here when Kraken was the only ride. Excited to see if Mako and Manta live up to the hype -
As the # approaches 200 and is becoming filled with more top tier rides this is becoming very difficult. It's like trying to find miniscule differences in pieces of gold. I also try to remember accurately how some rides felt, am I overhyping the RMCs etc...wish I put this much effort into other tasks XD Like others I had to go with groupings because it becomes too insane otherwise. Tbh I mostly focused on a top 25 and a bottom 5 the rest....eh lol Anyway, here is my top 10: 1. Steel Vengence 2. Twisted Timbers 3. Lightning Rod 4. Wicked Cyclone (Its been since 2016, I need to ride this year as I hear its gone downhill) 5. Storm Chaser 6. Skyrush 7. Fury 325 8. Twisted Colossus 9. Millennium Force 10. Voyage Bottom 5: Anaconda - KD FoF - KI Vortex - Carowinds Vekoma SLC Scream Machine - SFOG GASM was a new addition for this year. God that thing was awful. So much so it takes the bottom. Vekoma SLC you know what to expect and least theres OTSR, inversions etc. How GASM is that bad is beyond me. I have been on worse but they no longer exist so there ya have it.

I value the knowledge and tips/advice of the enthusiast community but I won't lie, I could never live with yall XD Though hilariously I have been applying to jobs all over, including CA, so watch me end up living by KBF anyway. If so anyone is always free to crash on my couch and beer is absolutely acceptable payment.

Yeah to each their own (crazy I know this is the internet differing opinions is supposed to = time for war XD) I feel Pantheon does have a great layout. I personally like the flow of it, seems natural and not wasted at all, and we used to always gripe when stuff was the same ol so I appreciate this is doing something different. Nor do I think it will be uncomfortable, but again opinion only Some of those other points I think are venturing from opinion into trying to be contrarian. I am not sure how one can feel the spike kills the pacing, that seems to be when the top speed section is starting and not sure how it may make the ride feel shorter, isn't it adding ride length? It'd feel very short without it. Even as is I wish there were one or two more elements! That's my only thing, wish it was a tad longer, though I think it's a killer layout.
