  1. Oh god forgot about that. Yeah.....really glad they are (hopefully) just putting that idea to rest. Agreed this is a good fit for the park and space! Glad they are putting it to good use.
  2. Major oof. Very sad, and yeah dropping the policy is better than not but when it comes after public shaming..doesnt feel very "valid" from them, especially if they originally defended it. Good on the people though, that is an epic response and they got em to nix it!
  3. I'll be the guinea pig. FOR SCIENCE! If I die you can have all my assets. (bad new for you XD)
  4. Holy hell this is indeed actually happening. I never imagined I'd want to stop at Indiana Beach but this looks wild. And I've never ridden any of the big crazy intense Schwarzkopf's (and even the ones I've done pack some wallop) so yeah I am stoked Saw this picture
  5. Ironically (or the internet and its perpetual spying mechanisms) in my side bar on YT (w/o looking up RFII) was a RFII POV from earlier this year, looked quite fast and smooth (from the best you can tell from a POV) so yeah I will stop by here again to give it another go Esp w the above comments confirming it may have just been a bad day/needed retracking when I went
  6. I hope! I deff recall early on seeing lots of ads for it, and ironically (despite being the enthusiast of my group) I do know some friends who have already gone. I do hope it survives and even grows, I love the idea of a park I can go to in winter and has some legit solid rides!
  7. Yeah and the thing is if we are honest about it, (which I admit is hard because holy shit I WANT this to happen so bad) I'd not blame people. We're coaster enthusiasts, most are not. Ive already seen so much "oh come on itll be fine/who wouldnt want this!?/well why live there then??" but if people can be honest and not rabid interneters....I get why locals wouldn't love this. Hell, I love parks and I like the sightsof em...but for 300 days a year I'd prob not want to live right near one and I know many prob DONT wanna see some 300 foot thing. That said if the park is really trying to go ahead with this hopefully they will try things like sound barriers, sand in the track, the quiet chains etc to make a good case. So yeah I basically hold 0 expectation and will just try to forget and wait and see. Because the thought a Fury-style giga with a supposedly 340+ foot drop and pretty gnarly helix? I'm already excited and don't wanna be crushed lol
  8. I still am treating this like the last Tool album, ignore the "this is the year" every 2-3 years and just forget about it till one day it's there lol Also I'm not gunna try to gleam anything from those pics this is just riffing (given KBF isnt that big/spacious) imagine if its more a twister Fury style giga...what a way for KBF to finally get their giga! I kinda hope so.
  9. Thanks! This was my thinking, glad to hear it's not too off base. Oh I wish, I always do weekdays when possible esp not in peak season, sadly this time it was not in the cards.
  10. Glad you had a great visit Hilltopper39! Kudos for going at this time of year. IDK how people do rides, big ones too, when its like 40s and 30s lol It really is a great experience. I wont lie in my mind I figured it was at least a bit overhyped but I was totally wrong, the park was as fantastic as everyone says. Already plotting next year's trip. Glad LRod was running well. Maybe the kinks got ironed out over the season? I know early on it was a little spotty and when I went it wasn't open with the park and they wouldnt guarantee it may, but did open around 3 PM. That was May though, still early on. And now that its been crossed off this list I can skip some rides and do more of others like Thunderhead and Wild Eagle. I really liked both but only got 1 ride each.
  11. As epic as this would be I'd almost be sad because it'd mean the 10 (+??) year meme of "Knott's getting a giga!" would end. But it would be cool. I also reckon the usual issues (space, noise, will it be considered an eye sore with locals and CAs very strong local rights that can block anything if people dont like it) will arise but I HOPE this is true because having a giga just smack in the middle of a city would be crazy! And it would be a great W for KBF them getting CA's first giga not SFMM lol
  12. Certainly the use of PTC's is not ideal! That is encouraging. I know ofc that coasters, especially wooden ones with some age, can be temperamental. I'll prob give it a try again next year, I really wanted to love it.
  13. Interesting! I want to stop by again some time and give RFII another go because it's so legendary and does have a fantastic layout, but the rides I had (this was either 2017 or 2018 I forget) were brutally rough...and I got a high tolerance, even enjoyment, for rough rides but holy crap it was jarring! Took away from the experience and it also felt kinda sluggish, not much air...I assumed because so much of the ride was being shaken away into oblivion lol But if some retracking happened/will happen I may give it another go. I wanted to love it but instead I needed advil and to sit for an hour
  14. Yeah given the long, (looooooong) saga of opening this place, which was still a hot mess, the general dying of malls and the **** luck of opening than a pandemic happening, all jokes aside (and they seem nothing but valid) I do kinda admire this place is still even going. I've always been torn between "just go and whatever you can (mostly for the Takabisha that is slightly steeper clone) because lord knows when this place will close" and "nono try to time it so all is open" I do see Sandy's is now closed through 1/31. Ugh lol
  15. I will be there on a Sunday, specifically May 1. Hope it won't be toooo crazy. The only time I went park was jammed and I had to buy a fast pass (most things were 60-90 minutes) though that was a Saturday and during a busier time, also that food and wine festival was happening. So I assumed it was just a bad time, hope it will be better and some of the above stories will be ironed out. It is indeed a wonderful park with an increasingly good lineup, would be a shame if it was somewhat sullied by bad ops/running. Anywho if anyone has an idea of what its generally like that time of year please let me know!
  16. Interesting. This would be great news, I am trying to front load my trips as much as possible this upcoming year so I would be quite happy if it was May! I too was impressed with the length of the ride, and overall layout. Looks to be on their stronger offerings imo. lol yeah that animation is pretty jank, funny it came from the park bc I know I saw a guesstimate POV (I assume from amusementinsider they always create those things) a while ago that was far better XD But yeah this may be one of the best rides in such a small park out there!
  17. 100% happening: April: BGW, KD May: Universal/BGT October: Texas. SFoT, SFFT, Sea World, ZDT and now Cotaland (which ironically the race is technically why I am going, did not expect any creds to pop up there) Not yet happening but surely will: Annual Cedar Point trip. Im thinking Labor Day weekend, hit up KI as well. Fun Spot Atlanta, SFoG probably some random weekend, whenever the new RMC is open. I am an idiot and misunderstood my company policy and just realized I am getting 10 more PTO days than expected.... so I am now thinking what else I can do! Either add a day to April and squeeze in Carowinds, or Perhaps a Carowinds/Dollywood weekend. In March thinking another FL weekend to do Seaworld and the FunSpots. Also was flirting with the idea of taking a longer CP trip go out to Chicago a city I've somehow never been to and do SFGreatAm. Maybe Indiana Beach along the way...never been and they are adding that Schwarzkopf.
  18. Yup, was gunna finally go last weekend but saw Sandy's was down. Given the price I did say I wont go unless all the coasters are at least open. Surely this was the case for a while and I just wasn't thinking to check but oh well! Glad to hear its will likely be some time, I wont really bother looking till probably 2022
  19. Ah this time that I both love but stresses me out lol I have to do it this year though I did too many new, and quality, creds to skip out on. Going to be hard I made no attempt to really rank my top 10 (let alone 25 and so on) this year but guess time to sit down and do it. Hey for a long time it was my legitimate #1 used to take so much flak from enthusiasts but screw it!
  20. Interesting, when are you going? I'll be there for Good Friday weekend 4/15
  21. Looks phenomenal. Can't wait to ride. Most hyped ride of 2020 finally happening, better late than never! And yes I love the layout, very interesting, and looks like it hauls over that acceleration hill Also excited to go to BGW in general, last time I went was 20 years ago!
  22. It does, I like Atlanta deff excited to plan this and for more than just this dope ass RMC. Yeah I too am curious what time frame we may get. I too would prefer early season but that does seem optimistic? I only do parks early/late esp in the south so we shall see!
  23. It is a good Aquarium, I rather like Atlanta. I do think I'll pull the trigger on it. Can't turn down something like this on the east cost/such an easy weekend trip.
  24. Perhaps a crazy move but I'm using Good Friday as a long weekend to drive to VA and visit BGW. Holiday I know but is this one where people are more likely to go to a park? Hope not an my heathen ass has a fairly quiet park lol Also how does the Platinum Pass work? Is it nationwide? Since I'm doing both BG's, both Sea World's, I figure this may be worth looking into?
  25. News like this causes me stress, because I now need to find a way (with limited PTO I am saving for a big trip) to get myself down to Atlanta to do this! This looks like a spectacular ride! I used to never take trips JUST for parks but think its time I break that rule and fly to Atlanta for this!
