  1. Some of these aren't rumors...though sadly the one in NJ is probably never happening. I'd love an epic woodie on the shore that connects the piers! www.thecoastercritic.com/2012/06/top-6-rumored-2013-roller-coasters.html As for ideas, I had this one that could never happen unless a park had a states worth of energy dedicated to it.. A jet fighter dueling coaster. The seats would be on the outside like a wing coaster and the tracks would have a "dogfight" with crazy maneuvers and all kinds of stuff. What I was thinking though is a unique launch system, one that could control their speed in unnatural ways. Like accelerate going straight up, or making quick boosts/brakes. Basically like each train had an "engine" like a plane. Not sure I'm explaining it right, but in stead of launch and carry through there'd be launches throughout. Though it'd need insane levels of energy and I'm not smart enough to think of a way that could enable such things
  2. Going to Cedar Point this August with some good college friends. I'm stoked, we've booked the hotel and will be staying 2 days (last time I went we tried one day and needless to say it didnt work). I've missed Maverick twice now so I am ready to finally slay the beast.
  3. The WORST line was actually Skyrush on opening day. 2 hours (we waited for front row and added about 45 minutes) but it was 95 degrees that day I believe. 2 hours in the brutal sun. Felt like death by the time we got there. Parks really should have entire lines covered with canopies, or get more of those mist fans.
  4. One. Sidewinder at Hershey Park. I'm content on keeping it at one. Quality over quantity...much as it'd be nice to pad the number I avoid the things. Ironically the new trains on Sidewinder are....*chokes*...smooth! Turns the ride from brain trauma to actually enjoyable.
  5. As long as the TPR bunch is friendly and willing to let me hang with em then ok: Count me in for King's Dominion Edit: Oh final...does everyone get fast pass? I'm strapped at the moment and would like to not fork out the extra 35, unless everyone does. I'll sell some blood then.
  6. Skyrush. 6/30 It was nearing the end of our day and they wanted to relax in the arcade. Not really an arcade guy (and I'm a cheap ass) so I ran to nab a final ride on Skyrush, my fourth of the day and it was a wing seat back row.
  7. Is this usually a group thing? Or do people often split off/do their own thing? I only ask because I will almost certainly be making this trek alone...so I want a group and meet people! I've gotten split off and done a park alone before and it sucks lol This is as simple as we meet and go? If so I'll be buying ASAP. Been wanting to do KD and I305 but had no good "reason" to go this year, so this is perfect
  8. I like KD and have been dying to ride I305 (despite quite a few people who have told me it's not that great). Only thing is I live in NJ, and it's not that far a drive....but anyone who's been: Is it worth it? Looks like we get some exclusive ride time and that alone is tempting! Is that part of the price? Also...our these trips just a good time in general? If so I'll be buying ASAP! Oh, also sounds like we meet up early...any idea when this will/usually happens? Day of arrival? I'll think about getting a cheap hotel or staying with friends about an hour away depending. I hope to be working by then and since I have a 5ish hour drive guess I'll need to take off work the Friday before. ha
  9. Longest wait ever was 3 hours for Kingda Ka, a couple days after its opening. Though it broke down, a couple of times, so it really wasn't that long. We were near the station, and knew we were already screwed so just waited it out. Longest "normal" line was El Toro last fright fest. 2.75 hours, that was a moving, not broken down line!
  10. Hey TPR. Total noob here, but not new to coasters. I have been an enthusiast since 1999, or when I was 11. Uh...I live in NJ and really don't like my home park of SF:GA and think Kingda Ka isn't worth much of a wait... though it has some killer rides at the park. My favorite park is Cedar Point, my favorite coaster is Millennium Force (though I've yet to do I305, Bizarro or Maverick), I've been on 74 coasters and will be looking to increase that number when I go to Cedar Point this August and finally add Maverick. I drove to Hershey, PA to ride Skyrush opening day, and it was awesome. ...I also enjoy writing, reading, nature walks and music. I am currently looking for a real life job (college had to end sometime) but really...I hope to make it as a writer. Until then, gotta pay the bills and park trips.
