  1. So decided to scrap my KW plans and will be going to SFoG on June 9th instead! Its alot easier in terms of my travel and a new park, so makes sense. Also I'm excited to finally try Goliath, TC of course, and a Schwarzkopf! Also at least in POV's Great American Scream Machine looks pretty great, and supposedly Scorcher was one of the, if not the, best standing coasters granted thats a low bar. Im pretty stoked to visit. Sucks its a weekend but I'll get fast pass, I assume it'll be necessary? Never used it at a SF park. I see there's diff prices for how much line you wanna skip. I guess its not like CP where its a free for all? Does it still allow unlimited rides?
  2. It does look like an epic ride. Been lucky to have gotten on Hypersonic and that launch was something else. Since this is basically the same, that will be a helluva ride, I imagine it'll be forceful and have ejector on that hop, but damn so short. Gunna hold off on getting there this year, will wait for the reviews
  3. Yeah I deff wanna try it. I'll prob pop down some random weekend. Falcon's Fury was down when I went last time anyway so gotta cross that off
  4. I've always wanted to try one of these. They look fun. Tough to judge POVs but looks like decent whip-iness in the back. But I will not drive 4 hours to BGT, partly to try this new coaster. *Already planning trip*
  5. Thanks! Good to know. And nah never been to the park. Excited to go, esp for Thunderhead. Sweet thanks for all the input yall. This is why I love TPR. I had no idea there was the ERT event...interesting.
  6. Interesting. It would be nice to squeeze it in June on Sunday and not make a new trip to it. Thanks, I guess I missed that unlimited option on the site.
  7. So I see the park has weekday hours in Oct, and full day!! I wanna commit to going to this park, and Im thinking this may be a great time. I mean a weekday in October?! Weather may be pretty nice too. Anyone familiar with the park at this time of year? What are crowds like? I am thinking earlier in Oct to avoid possible halloween crowds? Otherwise I will likely have to go on a Sunday in early June. I see the park has a fast pass type thing but does it allow only one skip on Lightning Rod? If so, I get it but I do wanna maximize my rides on LR.
  8. What are the crowds like on an early June weekend? Mainly a Sunday. I heard its not so bad later, like Oct but I may try and squeeze into my June trip on the way back home.
  9. I recall that as well. 2017 is the year I went myself. I deff remember getting I think 7 rides on MF during the normal day hours! It was a very quiet day and I was shocked how much I got done in normal hours. Granted it helped I knocked out Maverick early ERT and didn't need to wait for it. Yeah MAverick had some issues that night, it opened late, then not long into the session went down, I bolted and went to TTD, which had its own bugs BUT I was glad I waited it out b/c got a roll back finally! But there was no SV then. Even last year on what was a pretty quiet day (I got a few near walk ons with MF) the line for SV was still 2+ hours all day, Maverick was generally above 1. Guess I'll see when Im there how bad the lines are. I skipped the boat last time, but heard great things and the pics were wonderful! I may do it this time.
  10. I took a 4 hour nap last time, and there was prob a good hour or so I just kind of relaxed in park. Im sure some can do the whole day straight, and I ran into one last time....met at morning ERT, bumped into at dusk, then met at night ERT and never took a break!I don't got the energy or cocaine for that
  11. Slow your roll there buckaroo. I said morning ERT Nice try though But nah all good, I guess I'll just have to accept a morning full of MForce still one of my favorite rides. I'll find a way cope Deff gunna be an epic day. I missed out last year. I too was a bit too slow, so I made sure not to repeat it this year. I got spoiled after coastermania 2017. There was nothing like that day. Did a season's worth of rides basically in that one day.
  12. Tis the plan! Hey not like I'll gripe about 1.5 hours of MForce ERT! And I didn't know about how the ops work. I did assume for an event like this they would use an extra shift/get extra people for the day and not have their people work like 15 hours. Like get extra for the day and stagger em or something, so you dont have crazy long shifts or people working till 130 then going in a few hours later, but good to know. Huge kudos to those that work that madness for us!
  13. Millennium Force, Valravn, GateKeeper and Raptor? It sounds pretty outstanding to me. They close the line for ERT at 1:30 so the crew will probably be there from before 8:00 in the morning (since it's an early entry ride) to well after 2am and then they need to be at the park at 7-something the next day. As it is most of those people would be lucky to get 4 hours of sleep before working a 14-15 hour day again the next day. They're not Disney where they have tons of staff available for each ride, a lot of those ops will be working all day Friday and Saturday. Putting the ride on morning ERT too would be insane. Well to each their own, MF and Raptor obviously. The other 2 are ones I care much less for. Hey what'd I say about the internet gang up? I aint havin it. Needless to say its not that big a deal, I am just changing my plan. Was just caught off guard, and Im not gunna wait till 11 for those so I just gotta think now If Im gunna want a FL+ which ya know, is part of why I do this event, to avoid it. I assume crowds wont be so bad on a weekday in early June but its also SV and Mav...3/4 of the park was at those 2 rides last year Deff glad Magnum is on ERT cause yeah TTD was down most of my last coastermania and I dont even think I got on last year, (glad to see in 2018 it still is a crapshoot ha)
  14. Thanks for the gate info! I figured they'd only open main for Coastermania but always wanna confirm. Well, apparently concerns for a rush to the back was unfounded. No SV or Maverick for morning ERT? Yikes. That's a fairly weak ERT session imo I mean Gatekeeper and Valravrn lol. Least I can get those out of the way and not have to worry during the day. Guess I'll still need FL+ lol 11PM is a long time to wait and even being in the park before the crowds arrive I assume everyone will flock SV and I can get maybe a ride in. And yes yes I know this is great and Im lucky to be part of it, many wont get hours of night ERT please spare me the usual jumping on to flog... I am allowed to be slightly disappointed. Was hoping to get SV and Mav out of the way and not have to really think about em during normal hours. And I had to take a nap last time because I just didn't have the stamina to go from 7 to 130 lol definitely happening this time.
  15. Are there still multiple entrances to CP? If so is it open to all or just CP hotel guests? I recall years ago there were multiple entrances but, then, I believe only guests could use em. If there are and they're open to all, does anyone know if Coastermania uses them or just the main entrance? Basically, is there anyway I can get as close as possible to the back of the park for the event. As for FL+ for a summer day I'd imagine it's invaluable. Late season the park was empty enough I didnt need it on much rides. I used it of course, it was handy for Raptor and Valravn (decent ride, I wouldnt wait long but thankfully I walked on 3 times in a row) and esp Maverick and SV. Got 5 rides on SV, which would deff not be possible as the wait was 2+ hours all day long. Even hour early access, walking my quickest wait was already 45 mins! I also got 4 or 5 rides on Maverick. The time saved on these also freed up a bunch for others. Got I think 7 rides on MForce, partly thanks to no line, but also didnt have to use up 4 hours waiting for those two rides. No way I would've managed the day I did without it. If I ever go to CP on a non ERT day I will have FL+ And I thought it worked fine. I was a little surprised it didnt work like some others that choose a time for you, and yes it did mean waits were kinda long. SV was 30-40 mins all day with FL BUT better than 2 hours lol and the lack of limitation was nice.
  16. I actually disagree about the top 10 thing. I may be the black sheep here but I REALLY like Cannibal. It's in my personal top 10. Granted, I haven't been around the block nearly as much as a lot of the other people on the site, but I think Cannibal is just a fun coaster. It's super re-ride-able. It's not forceful, that's true, but it has a ton of hangtime and the first drop is absolutely amazing. Take that for what you will. I hope I'm not alone in this, I think this ride deserves more credit than it gets. ...4.5 Gs isn't forceful. Got it! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] I would expect moderate to heavy crowds on a September weekend. It depends on if Frightmares has started yet since that draws lots of people. The park is definitely doable on crowded days though thanks to the wonderful single rider lines on Cannibal and Wicked as well as overall solid operations for the major rides. Honestly, the worst part about crowded days at Lagoon is navigating through people on the midway since the park has no queue space for the major coasters, flat rides, or food services. On any crowded day, the lines spill into the walkways and can get rather obnoxious to deal with. Cannibal is an excellent coaster. I wouldn't say it's "top 10 in the country" or anything of the like, but it does what it's supposed to very well and has some unique elements you really can't find on other coasters. I like it mostly for its originality and weirdness. Thank you! This is what I was looking for. TPR to the rescue as always. It would likely be early to mid Sept. Waiting on WCB dates. I may just try a weekday, so in August, just to try and avoid the crowds entirely. Yeah, August is Hot and Crowded, even on week days. lol I might be able to get a great discount voucher for you...maybe not as good as Doppel Looping, but close. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk For real? Well, I may flip a coin then on aug weekday or sept weekend and risk it, apparently the single rider line is quite helpful. Hey Im excited about Cannibal. Honestly the idea of a very beyond vertical 200+ foot drop alone. And I cant pass up the chance to get to certain parks I will realistically prob never get to again. Like I'd kick myself. Oh and hot I always am basically from June to Sept so no way around that
  17. Im stoked to finally get on Fury, and visit this park! Its another park I never bothered with, but like many others I feel like its lineup has really become solid. Im excited to visit. Some quick questions: Im not expecting crowds to be bad on a weekday in early June. Specifically a Thursday. Is this fair? Is there a way to get from Charlotte airport to the park without a rental car? I got time to kill, got a good 3 hours between flight landing and park open.

  19. Never, ever let one person's opinion dictate how you feel about a park, ride, or experience before you get to go there yourself. For all you know your favorite coaster could end up being Puff The Little Fire Dragon. Nah I feel ya. Perhaps bad wording, (as Im prone to!) not like that swayed me either way, I was planning on going, just looking for input And nah my #1 was MForce for 14 years no one's opinion can sway me.
  20. Coaster Studios. Who's views I usually agree with, even in ways/rides I differ from many. Also, I just haven't heard much about it, or the park, at all so thus why Im seeking input. And yeah that drop has me kind of amazed. I am super curious what 200 foot (very) beyond vertical drop is like
  21. Come on, you've been around long enough to know that word is only used by people who front that they're so hardcore they can't enjoy themselves. Go and have a good time. True, and prob funny from me who still defends MForce but ya know it just out of the way(though apparently not nearly as a bad as I thought!) Also ya know...needless to say I was 80% convinced I wanted to do it and was looking for the few people to give the confirming nudge ha Though I do know nothing of the park and have some questions. Mostly I am curious what crowds may be expected. It seems like it will have to a Sept weekend, so if anyone has any idea. Is it single rider friendly? I know some rides you cant ride front/back solo which is fine, and for any that require two people guess I'll have to ask someone, which is also fine. I am hoping to get lots of rides on so just curious if crowds are a concern/how to dodge em. Im assuming there's no Fast Lane type deal. If an August weekday would be better, I could try that (flying IN to CA opposed to out)
  22. Well, since I'll be in CA, which isn't close to Lagoon but the closest I'll be any time ever in the forseeable future, I may try to stop by. Perhaps take a layover in Salt Lake City. (Nothing flies directly to Tallahassee anyway) Esp since it seems I can get from the Airport to park without a rental car!? I know this is a family park with a collection of mostly moderate rides, but I've heard good things about Wicked, not as much about Cannibal, (was let down to hear its supposedly forceless???) but I do love a Schwarzkopf. CoasterStudios, who's opinions seem to strongly align with mine, found the spinning coaster and....Roller Coaster not bad either. Think its worth a day trip to the park? For a solo traveler esp? Is Cannibal as awesome as it seems? I see that in Sept, when I'd likely be going, its basically weekend hours. Any idea what crowds would be like on a Sept weekend?
  23. Epic. What a weird and cool looking ride this will be. Any farther update/talk around town about possible opening? My return trip depends on it being open by June or not. Im gunna show horn KI instead. Playing chicken with myself on how long I should wait to book tix back and gamble on it being open or not
  24. Great layout, I really like it, and considering the opinions I've heard on White Cyclone were near universally crap, RMC has done it again!
  25. Holy crap those pics. For some reason the POV gave me a more spread out feel but that is compact as hell. Cant wait to ride!
