  1. I also thought about that. It really would be important for the ride to do something other than spiraling down to the right. Probably it will have some elements that switch the direction (I guess). Looks like a very cool and original concept.
  2. I couldn't really find a picture from the exact same angle but this one is close and it does show how much wider Banshee's one is. Mostly by looking at the support which holds both the entry and exit to the loop.

  5. I agree. I don't even see a 500 ft tall ride coming soon. What I would really like to see would be a hyper/giga coaster with inversions since the last record breaking coaster in terms of height or speed that did go upside down was steel phantom (for speed) and Dragon Mountain (for height), right?

  8. I've never ridden kumba (sadly) but I have been on rides like Dragon Khan that have a really awesome roar, Great Bear also sounds pretty cool and I think every single B&M should sound like that. I'm a bit sad that lately their rides have been coming out pretty quiet. Maybe they have been filling more of them with sand or maybe they get louder with age. Anyway, it should be illegal to silence the roar of B&M.
  9. It really is looking great. I have pretty decent expectations on this ride. I also find it interesting how they are building this: one bit here, another one there.
  10. Is that a Coliseum? If so...
  11. I don't see how forward acceleration can be influenced greatly by the seat on the ride. Well let's say you sit in the very back of a coaster. If there is a big first drop (like on hypers and gigas) you will notice that the back is pulled by the rest of the train over the top. If you sit in the front, on the other hand, you will be left sort of hanging for a while before the rest of the train enters the drop. This can also be noticed on some loops, for example. When I rode batman the ride at sfgadv I remember that, when sitting in the front, it would have a sort of hanging feel once that part of the train had cleared the top of the loop while in the back it was the opposite: it would be "pulled" down the second half of the loop. The longer the trains are the bigger the difference is. In theory, the middle is where there are less forward or backwards forces as it is the center of mass of the train. You can clearly see the two stops on the graphic as then the forward acceleration is negative but throughout the rest of the ride there are smaller variations partially cause by this.
  12. I know. I just wanted to show this picture as there are some similarities. I'm aware that you knew there were some.
  13. Interesting. I assume that, given that there is forward acceleration throughout the ride, you didn't sit in the middle, right?
  14. ^^Me too. The more pictures I see the more I love the colors. By the way, given that the top speed will be hit between the zero g and batwing (isn't that correct?) I'm assuming it will be the ride's tallest inversion, right? And maybe the tallest in any B&M inverted. Does anyone know how tall Alpengeist's immelmann is? Batman la fuga at Warner allows people to go under the loop and take pictures like this. It isn't exactly the same angle but close.

  16. Well I have to say I didn't know anything about this until now. 200ft?! That's insane for an "in-house" built ride!
  17. Speaking of colorful...

  19. Looking nice. I quite like the way this will interact with surrounding rides and terrain.
  20. Mantis
  21. All intamins, RMCs and B&Ms disappearing. What's worse than getting hit in the eyes by mosquitoes during Kingda Ka's or TTD's launch?
  22. Anyone who misses El Toro because they chose Nitro or because they "ran out of time" deserves not to experience El Toro! I know what you mean, now I realize it was a colossal error but the first time I went to SFGAdv I hadn't really realized how well rated el toro was and I hadn't had particularly nice experiences with wooden coasters. Not only that but my parents decided we had to leave earlier than expected because of the rented car. This year I returned to the US and went back to great adventure JUST to ride it and it was closed. I will also never forgive myself for that.
