I keep on laughing at people here who don't want a Tony Hawk coaster because other Six Flags parks already have them. You forget...PARKS DON'T EXIST TO PLEASE US! Most people who visit SFMM haven't a clue as to what else is out there, so a Tony Hawk spinning coaster or even a Dark Knight coaster would be something new. I wouldn't mind a smallish type coaster. They're good for families, take up relatively little space, and they can be fun. As to how long the next ride will take to build, if it is some sort of small coaster, the bulk of the construction time will be prep and foundation. The ride itself is prefabbed and will go up fast. ^ I wasn't aware that you could use WDW tickets in any way at the DLR, but it's nice to know. Using child Swap, it shoudn't take that much longer to visit attractions. I'm sure you know about that, but if not, a cast member will fill you in. ^^ Larry, I understand what you're saying. Most of today's kids don't have a clue as to who Walt Disney was---and as time goes on, even fewer adults do as well. But it does give knowledgeable parents a chance to teach their kids something new. Eri

Your kids would like Legoland. And it's a little different from the usual Disney, too. We took Diana there when she was 11 (in 2001) and we all had a blast. But having been to both DL and WDW, I will say that there is a "charm" about walking around in Walt's original park. Eric

Great day yesterday at the DLR to celebrate 50 years of my existence. Good times with good friends, and it wasn't that busy. Eric

Thief: When I was a kid, I took a candy bar now and then, but that was about it. Victim: My 1983 Toyota Supra was stolen three times, and I got it back three times, though not necessarily in the best of condition. Apparently it was cheaper for the insurance company to replace seats, stereos, and wheels than to total out the car. Eric

"I'm not sure which wires are crossed in your brain..." (BeemerBoy) No wires are crossed. They just abruptly end where the old gray matter used to be. Eric

I understand how advertising brings much needed money into the park, and a little bit of it doesn't bother me. But it can go overboard. Honestly, though, I just ignore it or make fun of it. Eric

^ My nephew and his wife live in Vancouver, so there's no excuse now for me not going up there. That place looks like a lot of fun! Eric -
"I almost bought a Mazda 6, but the wife wanted a CR-V. It's the one time she says I was right." (mrjaco) Very interesting because my 2002 CR-V has been nothing but reliable. And quite economical, too. Just last weekend I took a drive to San Diego and got 32.9 mpg (380 miles round trip) with the air conditioning on. Sorry for your experience, but you're right about cars being a crapshoot. Even with reliable brands you just never know. I've heard of Toyotas being lemons on occasion as well. Eric

First off, Happy Birthday, Mo! My own is on Saturday and at 10:10am local time, I leave my 40s behind forever. At least I'll be at Disneyland. Anyway, nice find here. Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something like this. Eric

Green is good---especially if it's a traffic light! Is it nighttime at your house right now?

Just finished eating some nuts and a piece of 90% cocoa dark chocolate. Next up: the walk. Eric

^ Agreed. All I ever see of Kennywood are the coasters and maybe Pitt Fall. This was a great report! Eric

"Readers, make sure when you are reading you don't miss that last picture with the blinking red eye, I almost missed it and that is a solid ending!!" (BigMike) I noticed that and just assumed Lady Bebes had herself armed in case anyone tried anything while she slept. Nice TR! Eric -

I'll assume the cable wasn't running... I'd like to have seen him walk the one on the old Eagle's Flight at SFMM. That sucker was high! Eric -
^ I went to LAUSD schools and that's about the time we usually went back. It does seem late compared to where we live. Earlier, I gave some thought to heading out there, but having gone to San Diego yesterday, I decided to rest up instead. Last weekend was pretty busy, so I'd guess that today would be as well. Eric

Favorite coaster cars/trains or ride vehicles

Terminator Salvation--The Ride has nice trains. I can't say they're my favorites, but they do look cool and are quite comfortable. Eric -

Strangely, a terrain woodie might be a good fit. That would be quite different from what they've had, and their sister park down south has a woodie already. Eric -
"Since then I've been an avid collector [of theme park maps], but my parents don't really approve. They think collecting maps/brochures is a waste of time." (netdvn) Some parents... Rant time: I don't understand some voice mail systems. You call someone's cell phone, they don't pick up, it goes to voice mail. I really don't need a lecture along the lines of "Record your message after the tone. When you are finished recording, hang up." Is THAT how you leave a message? I've always wondered... Eric
