  1. ^ Being decayed and falling apart is not acceptable, but the simple unDisneylike "animatronics" just fit in with those rides. Eric
  2. I agree that SFMM shouldn't bother replacing Goliath's trains with four-across B&M ones. Those trains are pretty wide, though. Goliath's track gauge is close to or identical to that of B&M rides. If Goliath's trains seated four across, each train could carry 60 people! Spend the money elsewhere, I say. SFMM could always get some sort of Intamin or B&M hyper or giga sometime in the future. Eric
  3. ^ Better that he was throwing TP at your house, and not houses at your teepee... Eric
  4. ^ Has the same first name as I do. < Has the same first name as a guy Mom liked in school. V Has the same first name as a blue ribbon cow at the fair!
  5. Keep in mind, too, that some space opened up where Freefall was, and there are rumors that Tidal Wave is not long for this world. That area could well be where the new Wiggles World will go, but there are some nooks and crannies where some sort of coaster would fit. Not necessarily a big one, but a coaster nonetheless. I still think a good, airtime-filled out and back type could go along the south (Viper to Roaring Rapids to Deja Vu) and/or west (Terminator to Riddler to Batman) edge of the park. It wouldn't have to cross any fences and "sneak" onto NL&F-owned land. Eric
  6. Is there a way that you could rent or borrow a car? Does your aunt need you to be with her or can she get around on her own while you're gone? It'd be a shame to be so close and not be able to go. Eric
  7. It's a few miles up the road, but we do have a Carl's Jr. Do you hang out at the bowling alley?
  8. Too bad about management getting rid of the guns on the flume at Buffalo Bills. Were they just being PC or did the guns stop working, I wonder? It's always fun to shoot at targets on a ride. That's what makes such rides popular and fun. My last trip on Desperado was over 10 years ago. That thing had just gotten too rough, and I doubt it's any better. However, Diana doesn't have her credit on it, so maybe the next time we're out that way we'll stop. Looks like you two had a great time. One-on-one time with your kid is the best thing ever! Eric
  9. No, but community colleges have. If you have yet to do so, would you eat a deep fried Twinkie?
  10. ^^ Many, many times I've heard people say that they've rebuilt/remodeled Psyclone. That's sort of the equivalent of back in 1986 people saying that Shock Wave is "like the bobsleds, only you stand up" because it was right where Sarajevo Bobsleds was. Eric
  11. ^ Trust me, it's real. I've seen it in person. Eric
  12. It is real, and it is a "she." Even though I'm not much for tattoos, that would have been nicer had it been about a third to half its size. Eric
  13. No surprise a friend would have sent me this (and I didn't write these, by the way...): 1. I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian. 2. She was only a whisky maker but he loved her still. 3. A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption. 4. The butcher backed into the meat grinder and got a little behind in his work. 5. No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery. 6. A dog gave birth to puppies near the road and was cited for littering. 7. A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in Linoleum Blownapart. 8. Two silk worms had a race---they ended up in a tie. 9. Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana. 10. Atheism is a non-prophet organization. 12. Two hats were hanging on a hat rack in the hallway. One hat said to the other, "You stay here, I'll go on a head." 13. I wondered why the baseball kept getting bigger. Then, it hit me. 14. A small boy swallowed some coins and was taken to a hospital. His grandmother telephoned to ask how he was, a nurse said, "No change yet." 15. A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion. 16. The short fortune-teller who escaped from prison was a small medium at large. 17. The man who survived mustard gas and pepper spray is now a seasoned veteran. 18. A backward poet writes inverse. 19. In democracy, it's your vote that counts. In feudalism, it's your count that votes. 20. When cannibals ate a missionary they got a taste of religion. 21. Don't join dangerous cults---practice safe sects! Eric
  14. SFMM could use some more benches. When it gets hot out there, people need a place to sit for a few minutes. I have been there a few times when there just wasn't a place to sit, and had to sit on a rock, fence, etc.---where they DON'T want you to sit. It's little things that can make a difference. Eric
  15. Revolution DID used to knock your socks flat off. There used to be socks scattered on the hillside just below the ride. That was the proof. As many others do, I feel that vibrating rattle at the bottom of Scream!'s first drop. From what I've heard over the years, that section of track was dropped during construction and therefore "tweaked," but never straightened (if that's possible) or replaced. But I can't verify that such a thing actually happened---just what I've heard. It's the only floorless I've ridden, so I can't compare it to any others. Eric
  16. Thank you for posting this Photo TR of our local fair. I had planned to go today, but just wasn't up to it. Over the years, I have been, and it tends to be the same year after year after year after year... Pole Position = FAIL!!1! I rode it about three years ago. Never again. BTW, it's a Fabbri ride. The nerd in me made me ask the operator after the ride was over. What was funny at that time is that not only did he answer me, he also said that it was better than the similar German rides! I tried chocolate covered bacon at the Orange County Fair last month. It wasn't bad, but not something that I'd eat a lot of. Eric
  17. ^ and ^^: I don't think you guys understand. The cheeziness of those figures is what makes the rides classic! Eric
  18. ^ I like 'em the way they are. Kind of campy, but that's what makes them classic rides. The rides would lose their charm if you updated them. Eric
  19. ^ Honda has a hydrogen fuel cell car in testing right now. I believe a few people are driving them, but have leased them from Honda for the sole purpose of "checking 'em out." Having such technology more widespread would be a significant advancement in freeing us from our dependency on oil. And that's what we need to do. Eric
  20. Sometimes I think I should just quit with the jokes and get all serious-y. Eric
  21. "you mean facing up?" (trcg721) No, if your palms are down, your thumbs are on the inside, as they are in that picture. The foot would be backwards, though, unless it's implying that you're bent over backwards. Maybe SFOT should have painted a bunch of giant red, blue, green, and yellow dots all over and made a giant Twister game! Eric
  22. ^ Even worse---it was one of my jokes... Eric
  23. ^ Not if it's palms facing down. Eric
  24. ^ Eating a big sammich before going to bed will cause gas like that! Eric
  25. For some reason, I really liked that shot. Maybe it's just the prominence of the primary colors in it. But overall, very nice report. One of the better Photo TRs, honestly. I look forward to the rest. Eric
