  1. If you ever see purple cheese, run for the hills. See, purple cheese has an intense fear of high places, so you'll never find it there. Honestly, I prefer sharp cheddar myself. Eric
  2. This is where some sort of display/electronic sign would come in handy. They could push a button or enter info at the closed attraction and it would instantly update out in front or wherever. But I know that's quite an expense, so I don't expect it, like in a few months or something. Funny stuff what the GP say. Now, they may have been messing around, but still, some people hear that stuff and believe it! But, Robb, do provide some feedback. This will be a good way to "test the waters," as it were. EDIT: I've often wondered if employees "close" because it's almost the end of their shift and they want to spend the last half hour or so "kicking back," which would explain turning off the donut machine. Eric
  3. This isn't a "me" story, but once when Diana was about two or three, she got ahead of us at a shopping center. When she noticed that we were quite a ways behind her, she stopped and turned around, then shouted, "Come on, Eric! Come on, Lori! Hurry up!" Eric
  4. ^ Get your cheeses straight, dude. Blue (actually "bleu") cheese is that moldy-ish kind that they put in salad dressings. Green cheese is what the moon is made of. Eric
  5. "...I would think it would be inexpensive to put in a variable-speed chainlift." (Revolucion) The ride already has one. We had an event out there sometime back where "racing Colossus" was advertised, and on one ride, I was about halfway up when the other train was at the bottom, and they slowed us way down to let the other one catch up. Once we were at the same point, they sped it up again. Ideally, if they want to go the racing coaster route, then they should incorporate a layout that doesn't favor one side over another. Of course, that would mean rebuilding Colossus (which would be nice). Eric
  6. ^ I almost had that for dinner, but went to Del Taco instead. Eric
  7. Nice pictures. I didn't know they made right-hand-drive PT Cruisers. Eric
  8. ^ Loses panties on a regular basis and fights with imaginary creatures. < Loses jobs on a regular basis and fights with the EDD. V Loses teeth on a regular basis and fights with the family cat!
  9. Interesting. Our visit was on a Saturday, and I asked the cast member/hostess specifically if they had a single rider line. Her answer was, "No, but if you put your stuff in a locker and come back, I'll take you up in the elevator." So, I put my camera in one of the short-term lockers, returned to the line, and as promised, up we went. I got to ride in the front row because there was a spot open. Eric
  10. ^ Then it'll be time for your 2009 update! Eric
  11. Robb, just be sure and let Jay and or Neal know. That could help in the future... Eric
  12. ^ When did Hulk get a single rider line? I was there in October 2006 and they didn't have one then, but when I asked about it, the lady was nice enough to take me up to the loading platform in the handicapped elevator. Eric
  13. Believe it or not, yes. I take the L.A. Metro (bus or rail) whenever I can when I'm down there. It's slow, but I don't have to worry about my car or pay $$$ for parking. Do you like your first name?
  14. ^ Got his dairy products. < Got his Splenda. V Got his panties stolen!
  15. GhostRider at Knott's had good airtime at one point. And even now, I get some on a few hills. I've always thought that a good, long airtime machine along the very west side (behind Batman, Riddlers, former Psyclone) would work well and not take up too much space. Maybe one day, though. Eric
  16. ^ Cedar Fair parks = Pepsi. Disney parks = Coke Six Flags parks = Coke Anheuser Busch parks = Pepsi (I think) Eric
  17. Never. Bad for you, even though they have calcium. Do you have one of those flash drives?
  18. Funny thing...I was just out at the park on Wednesday, and I considered going out there again today since I really don't have anything that I have to do today (it's Easter---the girls are off somewhere). Jay and Neal greeted me that day and asked how the park was looking (they were with Mark Shapiro, too). I told Jay that I hadn't seen the park that clean for a lonnnggg time. And I wasn't suckin' up, either. I wasn't aware that adults could ride those Tweety cages. And thanks, William for the CENSORED label---I don't think I wanted to see what was behind that! Interesting, too, was that the Cyber Cafe's original name was The Coffee Grinder, where they served...coffee! Funny how things come full circle sometimes. I looked at today's hours awhile ago. They're open till 8 tonight, so...maybe... Eric
  19. "They had skateboards back then!!!???" (sfotkid) They were carved out of granite, and the wheels weren't so round, but we made do. I won't tell you how we heated our homes before fire came along. You'll just have to use your imagination... Eric
  20. "but Mark Shapiro is biased against inversions" (RIP Psyclone) Interesting...I wasn't aware of that. But with SFMM holding the record of the most inversions in a park, I think avoiding more---at least for the time being---is a good idea. This Ninja-like ride looks...fun...but it is too close to the same type of ride. Personally, I like the crazy canoe one. That is really different and looks like fun. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that S&S coasters seem to have very low-capacity trains/cars? Nowadays, getting a lot of people through a ride requires the seven- and eight-car trains that we often see---and nine-car trains on B&M hypers. Long ago, the old Mountain Express (Schwarzkopf Wildcat) used single cars, and the line could reach 90 minutes on almost any given day. I don't think SFMM would go for any rides with such low throughput. This is another reason why the idea of adding new flat rides tends to be shunned there. Eric EDIT: I guess I was writing this when you posted, Elissa, because I saw your comment about S&S's capacity.
  21. ^ Much easier to see the picture now! Anyway, yesterday I took a picture of the gas prices at one of our local gas stations. I'm not sure why anyone would get full serve premium at this price, but...we have a bunch of well-to-do seniors (Red Hat Ladies, perhaps? ) who wouldn't want to get a little gasoline on their hands... Eric
  22. Dare I mention the time that a friend and I skateboarded through the house when my folks weren't home? Eh, everybody did that... Eric
  23. Hmmm...I thought all of the updates were done, hence the sinking of the thread... Eric
  24. As one who rode Superman even before it was open to the public, I can say that it no longer packs the punch like it once did. With the Intamin rocket coasters and S&S's air launch ones that get you to speed in two seconds vs. seven, this LSM-launched ride really pales. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but it just isn't the big deal it once was. Eric
  25. Wouldn't it be funny if SFMM got one of those Crazy Canoe rides, but, like the one in the video, had a giant eagle on it, so they called it "Eagles Flight?" Eric
