I've noticed that Amtrak trains passing behind my house more often than not have six cars rather than five. That must mean more people are taking the train. Eric

It's Japan. They're just...different... Seriously, my guess is that it's for maintenance and structural evaluations. Eric

I hope Shamu bites any PETA people who buy the park. What a bunch of nut cases... Eric -
Head Rush and Greyouts - Getting Old?
ebl replied to brianwolters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"I'm no expert, but I am considered the "old" man here so..." (OldJJman) I have three years on ya, JJ, so...who's the old man? Anyway, there are so many factors in all of this. And all of you have given good suggestions to ward off the problems of high g forces. But sometimes, the force is just too strong even for the most healthy, in-shape person. To me, the best thing is to avoid rides that are too intense for your own individual body. That's not "wimping out." That's being smart and taking care of yourself. Eric -

Would you visit Heme Park Review? I didn't think so... What would you get if Taco Bell supersized their combos? -

Nice TR. Coney Island is one place I've always wanted to visit. I had no idea that the Wonder Wheel was still open (still standing, yes, but not operating). Of course we all know that DCA has a modern version of that ride, and I've ridden that one a couple of times. Eric -
A bowl of fresh California strawberries sitting just to my left as I write this. Eric P.S. And they're all for me since no one else in this house eats 'em!

So, last year they added the 424 area code as an overlay to the 310 code here in SoCal. And wouldn't you know...my boss's cell phone number falls into that area code. I've never known another number in that area code, either. Eric

I'm sitting here at 1:15am in the morning posting on a theme park message board because the girls are watching some stupid TV show in our bedroom and I can't get to sleep. So now you know my deep dark secret of the day. Eric

"You never rode the hang 'n bang, Kong? Of all the Vekomas I rode, Invertigo was the smoothest. I never rode Stealth, just Invertigo, Boomerang (Both KBF and SFDK) and Kong...oh, and maybe Gadget's Go Coaster at Disneyland." (Angry_Gumball) Don't forget, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a Vekoma, too, and it's pretty smooth if you ask me. As SLCs go, I've only ridden Kong at SFDK, and I really didn't have any problem with it. And I rode it anticipating such because I'd heard the horror stories about those rides. I last rode Invertigo in 1999 and found it to be rather smooth and enjoyable. But like almost anything mechanical, downtime will occur. Stealth came and went before I could get to it, but from what I've heard, I really didn't miss much. Eric

Got gas yesterday for under $4 for the first time in awhile. So, $3.999 isn't much below $4, but it is below $4... Eric

Yes, we do. Unfortunately that makes it easy for my other half to watch nonsense TV at 2:30am when I'm trying to get to sleep. Do you use any of the instant messagers (Yahoo!, AIM, etc.)? Eric

What is the coolest coaster name?
ebl replied to Hilltopper39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just re-read this entire topic and was surprised that no one said "Montezooma's Revenge." That was always a classic to me. And even though the ride itself sucked, "Psyclone" was a cool name---a nice play on words, actually. Eric
