I'm looking again. My last job went for eight months. The company was more than pleased with my work, but like so many others, had to do some downsizing. I can't stand hunting for work. But something will turn up because it always does. If I have to list one of my strengths, it's the fact that I do interview well and rarely have to go to more than a few before landing something. The best of luck to all of you who are looking. Eric

^ No disrespect to you, but getting that list done in 3-1/2 hours is possible on an uncrowded day, but between crowds and walking to each ride, that would be quite a stretch. 15 coasters would mean riding five an hour, more or less. (Note: I say 3-1/2 hours because the park has been opening at 10:30 more and more as of late.) I've gone on days where there was hardly anyone in the park and couldn't ride all of those in that short a timespan. And I walk pretty fast, too. Maybe five or six hours would be more reasonable. But to make a long story short, yeah, you can ride all of SFMM's coasters in one visit, provided they're all open. Eric

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Maybe we can start calling this ride "Terminator Salivation" because my chops are dripping... Seriously, this ride is coming together very nicely and in no time we'll be seeing those Millennium Flyers racing around the course. Not a lot of tall drops, but some low to the ground turns and airtime are going to put this ride into the top five at the park. Eric -
"I meant a floorless coaster." (Cedar Point Princess) If it's floorless, what would you stand on? Eric

^ Remember that June is the start of summer in our hemisphere, so most likely, June will be quite hot here. If you can go during the week it won't be too bad, but you might seriously consider getting the Q-Bot. Since that isn't up and running yet, I don't know how much it is. No doubt you'll find out if you keep an eye on this thread. Eric

^ WTF?!? That's two minutes I'll never get back... ^^ I'm worried that you remember the day you heard it. But then, I still remember the combination to my hall locker in junior high---35 years ago! Eric

Wow! My house wasn't even that much. I'm not much of a camper, but one of those little teardrop campers wouldn't be bad. I could probably even tow it with my CR-V. Eric -

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

^ That's a nice site with lots of great pictures! It amazes me that the Millennium Flyer trains still contain so much wood. These days, you'd think that trains would make use of a lot of steel or aluminum and fiberglass. I've wondered how well the trains hold up with the wear and tear of use. Would it possible to provide trains without a "banister" as you call it on the front? That would make a for a great view, but I'd imagine there might be a safety issue or two. Anyway, I look forward to three-and-a-half months from now at SFMM! Eric EDIT: I forgot to ask which CAD system is used at GCII? I'd guess SolidWorks, but I know AutoCAD is still common out there. -
"We didn't start the fire It was always burning since the worlds been turning" (Jds03) Quotin' Billy Joel, eh? I just heard that song yesterday. Eric
-
No, and I've never even played it once, believe it or not. Do you like Chick-fil-A? Eric
-
That was a different take on the song, but you definitely have talent. Good luck on the show! Eric

Cedar Point summer 2008

I have a feeling that supertrooper is being sarcastic about the pictures. As for me, I thought they were darned good---a lot better than I could take for sure. Eric -
"'I eat Big Mac's while doing science projects.'" (Six Flags Enthuseast) One more grammar nitpick---plurals don't have apostrophes. Eric

I'm not actually listening to it right now, but I heard it earlier and it's running through my head... Happy Man by Chicago. Eric

I don't know how many besides me are paying by check, but to whom should the check be made out? Before posting this, I read the flyer and FAQ, but I didn't see that anywhere. What I do know is that I'll get my payment in the mail ASAP. EDIT: This must be Brain Fart Friday for me. I did see one place where you send checks to TPR...can you make out checks to "TPR" or does it need to be an individual's name? Eric -
All the time...why those nasty little varmints... Have you ever been to any kind of car museum?

In the Terminator thread, I shared a link to the construction site of Terminator, but I didn't mention that Mr. Six is now on the main page of that site, replacing that Asian guy, but keeping the "More Flags, More Fun" slogan. My guess is that Mr. Six is indeed back and the Asian guy is out? If so, thank you Six Flags. That guy was...annoying at best. Eric
