  1. Lunch at Del Taco - $3.08. Eric
  2. No, not even once. Do you look for another job while you already have a job?
  3. ^ Flies when hungry. < Flies when traveling. V Attracts flies!
  4. ^^ If you turn the can over, it's a B&M inverted, right? Eric
  5. ^ After Labor Day, SFMM is only open weekends. That means even though school is back in session, weekends are wide open for everyone---even the thugs! Eric
  6. "...they put coaster beans in the ground..." (CreditCrazy) Coaster beans? I'd sure like to see those. Eric
  7. Given my age, I remember seeing the real Spartacus! The movie...no. Do you play any sports?
  8. Funny how so many people comment on how fast Terminator is going up (and I'm guilty of it as well). But remember, the vertical sections were mostly pre-built and only had to be raised into position. Then the cross bracing is done and track is laid---and fairly quickly as well. More and more like steel coasters, wooden coasters are designed on computers and assembled like a giant puzzle. Nowadays, it really doesn't take long to build even wooden coasters. Eric
  9. No, but it's on my list of parks to visit someday. Do you use public transit in your area?
  10. Great to hear about this! Montana finally has something to put it on the map! Eric
  11. I've not had the opportunity to ride Nemo at Disneyland, but I did ride Nemo at Epcot twice. I like what they did there. As for DCA, I've always liked it, but in five years, I'm sure I'll LOVE it! Toy Story Midway Mania is already a great start. The Little Mermaid ride and Radiator Springs Racers are two attractions that I look forward to. And the trolley down Hollywood Blvd. is a good addition. Eric
  12. ^ Sort of like the old "Baby on Board" signs. Someone with issues could very well go out of his/her/its way to intentionally disrupt your drive, as it were. Eric
  13. ^ Yep. When you're in town, tune to KNX 1070 (AM). They do traffic reports "on the 5s" (10:05, 10:15, 10:25, etc.). Listen for the magic word, "SigAlert." (Google that and learn a lot more than I could tell you.) Our freeways can be notorious for traffic. We've taken trips to Knott's from Camarillo where I live, a mere 75 miles away---and it's taken over three hours each way! Around here, "rush hour" lasts all day. Eric
  14. ^ Here in Southern California, you see that a lot for young men who passed away at a young age---and who were quite likely gang members. As for another peeve, also ar rear window related, the pictures people put up to represent their families. I saw one on Saturday that had about nine kids listed, the parents, and the family pets. Then there's one here in town that has a big white Raiders logo (representing Dad), a big pink one (for Mom), and a bunch of mini Raider-logos for the kids. Epic fail. Now, I'm proud of my family, but you'll never see them on my back window. Eric
  15. I've survived Flashback and Psyclone at SFMM, GhostRider at Knott's, and Rock 'N' Roller Coaster at WDW. Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris couldn't be rougher...could it? Eric
  16. And just a note...in my experience, car rental agencies want to know if you plan to travel outside the state, so if you rent here in CA and wish to go to Vegas...let 'em know. Eric
  17. When you're in the hospital, that's about all there is to do. But I've done that at home, too. Have you ever eaten lunch or dinner out somewhere, then ate again when you got home soon after?
  18. ^ Maybe you were "xcelerating" time a bit... Eric
  19. "Can't someone throw this beagle a chunk of wood from GhostRider???" Fixed. Eric
  20. I think the worst coaster at Knott's (for me) is Timberline Twister. Thanks to those lap bars, I get a good crease across my thighs that lasts for days. To me, there are no bad coasters at Knott's; just a few mediocre ones and an extremely painful wooden one. Eric
  21. ^ Too bad hers isn't a metric tape measure that measures in millimetres! Eric
  22. ^ I have to disagree with you about Silver Bullet. Sure, there are better coasters, but for me, Silver Bullet packs a good punch on the last helix, and I actually get some air around the overbanked turn and in between the two corkscrews. My only gripe about it is the weak first drop. Eric
  23. One thing we can be thankful for is that Six Flags never had that Asian guy running through the parks yelling "MORE FLAGS! MORE FUN!" That would have been annoying. But great to see Mr. Six back and in the parks (I don't think he was in the parks back when he first appeared). Great to see Terminator progressing. I look forward to the backstage tour of that area at WCB in a month. Eric
  24. ^ "Showers" basically means that it's going to rain. Not real hard, but it'll be wet. Probably best not to go to SFMM if it's going to be wet, but that's just my opinion. However, the park may be closed if the showers are hard and steady enough. Click here and go to the very bottom on the left. That's where the park hours are, and if they're closed, it should say. Or call Guest Relations at the number on the site before going to the park. Eric
  25. Today I was behind a Saturn with a license plate frame that read "My Saturn Can Kick Uranus." What he didn't know was that my Honda can run rings around his Saturn... Eric
