  1. A lot of people have Big Mike banners in their signature. Eric
  2. The U.S. could use more inflatable stuff for the 7th Inning Stretch in ballparks here. The one at Dodger Stadium would say, "Thank you for coiming...drive safely" because people start leaving then! This looked pretty cool, though. Eric
  3. No, but I should---I might get a good buy on a big screen TV. When you eat out, do you leave more than a 15% tip?
  4. Very interesting TR. But, yeah, they're cuties... Eric
  5. Hardly ever, so...no. Are you an NHL fan?
  6. ^ Rules regarding cameras on rides still apply during our ERT sessions. Eric
  7. I'm halfway to 98...that's a start! I wonder how a ride on Pilgrim's Plunge will compare to Perilous Plunge at Knott's? Eric
  8. When I saw the pictures, I thought part of the ride looked like a Skycoaster, but realized that it was just a tall corkscrew or dive loop. This looks a lot like the type of track Intamin uses, and I'm seeing it used by other manufacturers as well. I think this style allows more freedom in the design of inversion elements as well as spanning great distances without so many vertical supports. It'd be great to see something like this in the U.S. sometime---particularly out here on the West Coast. Eric
  9. Here in Southern California, driving 20 miles is like going next door. SFMM is about 40 miles from where I live. Short answer: yes. Do you look at the Caller ID before answering your phone?
  10. Yep. Not a show I'd like to see again. Have you gotten any new credits this year (2009)?
  11. One advantage, though, of "Mommy/Daddy friends" is that you can swap baby sitting with them for a night out with your wife/hubby. But I agree that sitting around talking about nothing but what the kids are doing is...boring. Eric
  12. ^ OK, now I understand. Took awhile, huh? The funny thing about employers is that they still haven't figured out that a person is LESS productive when they're ill. It's LESS EXPENSIVE to give that person a day or two off to recover than it is to have the entire office/work area infected. Eric
  13. A very unsmart thing for a diabetic to do...so...no, I don't. Has/does anyone make fun of your name?
  14. ^ Glad to see you back here, but we still miss you at that other site... Eric
  15. Regarding paid time off, it should be granted for parents to take care of sick kids, or themselves. Unfortunately, too many people take advantage of sick time and use it for "mental health days." I personally know people who routinely call in "sick" so they can go to the beach, shop, etc. As was explained to me by one company, that's why they took sick time away---abuse by employees. Eric
  16. ^^ I agree with you 100%, but in many cases, employers no longer offer sick pay. A lot of parents can't afford to take the day off---even though they should---so they drop their sick kids off at daycare/pre-school. What we used to do with Diana is split the day---I took her in the morning, then we switched at lunchtime. Of course, there are the ones who just want to get rid of the kid for the day so they get a break. I understand that, but when you choose to have kids, you take all that goes along with it. Then there are the parents that bring their screaming kids to the library, but I've already addressed library noise above. Eric
  17. ^ Does the train still have the OTSRs? As I said previously, I hope they did what other Premier coaster operators have done and removed them. Regardless, this is good news and it's time to visit Las Vegas again! Eric
  18. ^ Gerd. < Eric. V Raggedy Ann/dy!
  19. ^ You may just want to put your (ex?) boyfriend's picture in your drawer instead of flipping it down. The cleaning people may just think it got tipped over accidentally. ^ As for your gum dilemma...that's a sticky one... My rant is that when I go to the library for a change of pace, people forget to put their phones on vibrate or off. The ringtones are often bad enough, but then they take the call sitting right there, talking as though they're on the street. Hello...it's a library! If you're going to talk as though you're out on the street, then go out to the street! Eric
  20. Yeah, seen a few... Have you ever shouted at a total stranger because they did something stupid?
  21. I thought part of the lift was already in progress, but if not, it should be soon. Remember that they need some time to test the ride before it opens---and that's only three months away. Eric
  22. I've already been out to SFMM three or four times so far, so I'm due for a visit. Maybe I can convince Diana to take a trip with me. And maybe this time I'll bring my camera in to get some pictures of Terminator. Even if there isn't any additional structure up, I'm sure what already is up will have some of the track started. That, too, is major progress. Eric
  23. Since we're lucky enough to have an airport in our city, I hope someday to learn to fly. They offer lessons; I see ads all the time in the local papers. It's really cool that you got to do it already! Eric
  24. ^ Funny...according to Consumer Reports, reliability for all of the above isn't so hot. And Saturn started off as its own entity, only to end up being merged into GM as yet another brand. I kinda liked the GMC Acadia, but have not test driven one as of yet. Eric
  25. [takes bow] Thank you, thank you. I'm sure both of my fans appreciate it... Of course, you know there's a B&M Beauty Supply store in our town, right? I'm not sure what to do with that... The more I read this topic, the more I'm inclined to take a trip out to SFMM this weekend to follow the construction. The weather's been reasonably nice, so I hope there's been some progress... Eric
