^ You're welcome any time Shawn! --- PART FOUR: ALTON TOWERS I was looking forward to introducing Andrew and AJ to Alton Towers seeing as its probably the best park in the UK. Alton Towers is also home to Nemesis which is by far the best coaster in the UK and it was running awesome when we visited. Despite it being a warm Saturday in April we managed to get everything done with relative ease. It's always great to see people enjoy these parks that you tend to take for granted for the first time. Andrew and AJ seemed quite impressed. Onto photos... We had great whether, an excellent touring plan and most of all loads of fun at Alton Towers! And there was still more fun to be had that night. Although I'm not too sure if any of those photos should be posted up here! I'll be back with more soon! Nemesis really was running as good as ever when we visited. I'm glad Andrew and AJ got to experience it to its full potential. AJ even claimed he got to ride with a really hot chick. However, we have no proof. We all got a few good rides in to round out the day. Having all the other coasters conquered it was time for some more Nemesis whoring! OK Elissa, don't freak out but I'm afraid this McDonalds has turned to the dark side also. Looks like they enjoyed it! Yeah, I'm sure they loved this. It was then time for me to laugh at the other six who decided to do Corkscrew. Although I will admit that the likes of Griffon have diluted the experience a little. Despite the fact that it's a one trick pony. Oblivions still quite a special ride in my view. Next it was time for AJ and Andrew to complete the UK's B&M collection. Although not worth the hour long regular queue. As I said you have to make full use of single rider on this one. Whilst not quite up there with Dragon's Fury its still a fun ride. Making full use of the single rider line we all got on pretty quickly. Working our way around the rest of the coasters, we did Spinball Whizzer next. Both the riders and onlookers get absolutely drenched. The splash battle appeared to be quite popular. As we were making our way round we quickly checked out the new Mutiny Bay area. One of Dave's many camp poses of the trip. Oh yeah. Steve was meant to be flying back to Scotland on this morning but his flight got cancelled. So instead of hanging around an airport all day he came to Alton Towers to hang with us some more! Although as powered rides go this one is pretty good. As AJ will attest to. Some of the losers count powered coasters so we had to ride the Mine Train. Scott and Divv went on to disturb everyone else by rocking out to Duel's awesome soundtrack. Scott does his best zombie impression. We then worked our way around the rest of the park. Hitting up Duel next. Dave, Mike and Andrew also gave Ripsaw a go whilst they were in the area. They got off rather lightly. Sorry about that Shawn. But when we realised that when we were in the queue we agreed that we had to include that quip in the update! Nemesis also has these blood rivers. Although they're supposed to be red but turn out pink. Kinda like Shawn's tattoo. It really has such a messed up and cool layout. Mmmm... Nemesis... I think AJ and Andrew will agree that its one of the best coasters around. Nemesis was running really well today. Finally! Time to ride Nemesis! Reason enough for anyone to visit the UK! But the other guys seemed to enjoy it. I'll admit, I'm not much of a fan of Air. AJ and Andrew prepare themselves for some serious lying-on-your-back fun. No not that kind of fun! Then it was over to Forbidden Valley for a ride on Air. After Rita we got to enjoy the recently reopened Sky Ride. It also has some nice airtime moments. Rita's just a load of fun. As do Scott and Mike. Dave and AJ enjoy some front row Rita action. OK, the losers finally got in. Lets go ride some real rides! We also got Tractor ERT! Hi losers! Like Squirrel Nutty! Where we get to go and ride exciting things while the others wait! Divv and Andrew on the other hand are members of the cool club and get into the park early. This is the Losers Group. Also known as the people who didn't have annual passes and have to wait to enter the park with the regular guests. Yes, we're at Alton Towers! But arrive we did! (And I even got Andrew hooked on Lucozade!) The road to Alton Towers was a bit of a shock to Andrew and AJ. They couldn't quite believe that all these winding roads led to a huge theme park.

Sound seems to be working ok for me. Here's a YouTube version if it helps...

Yeah you missed a great night Scott! Actually here's a little of what you missed. Thanks to AJ for the video... MVI_3798_agk.avi Hi Shawn!

TPR's Indiana Beach Video!
Divv3k replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
TPR DVDs in widescreen?! That's awesome Robb! As someone who's owned a widescreen TV of some sort for a good six or seven years I've always been quite anal about keeping things in their proper aspect ratio. I'm also one of those people who notice things being made "fat" when watched in the wrong ratio. With widescreen becoming more and more the standard its great to see TPR adopting 16x9. TPR DVDs will look really awesome in widescreen! Oh and Coaster Expedition Volume 10 is awesome too! -
PART THREE: DINNER TIME! After Chessington we drove to Nottingham to meet up with Dave and Mike, more Midwest friends who were going to be joining us for the next few days. Now the Hooters Crew originally got its name because of the group of people at the start of the Midwest Trip who met up at Hooters in Cincinnati. However, as the Hooters Crew evolved as the trip went on many fully fledged members never even actually visited Hooters. So with that in mind I bring to you in pictures our visit to the only Hooters in the UK! We had a great night in Hooters (how can you not?) and it was a real great way for us Midwest friends to catch up! Alton Towers will be up soon! Come back tomorrow for some free beer! OK, here's some babes representing! OK< I know you're wondering "Where are the babes?" Well AJ scared them all away with a knife. That Hooters Hot Sauce is HOT! Dave - another exteneded Hooters crew member met up with us tonight (along with his brother Mike, also a Midwest Trip member). You won't believe some of the things they have on the menu! But what to have? Yes, we're here! At the ONLY Hooters in the UK!

No, we did both Thorpe and Chessington on Friday. Speaking of Chessington... PART TWO CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES Being that it was a school day in April we figured that we'd be able to hit both of these parks in the same day and we were right. Chessington was dead and so we got to ride everything we wanted very easily and also got to stop by the Greedy Goblin for a nice pub lunch. Onto some photos... We left Chessington just before closing so that we could head to Nottingham to meet Dave and Mike and get together for a very special dinner... Two parks into Andrew's trip and things are going pretty well. We finished up the Chessington experience by checking out the powered mine train. Steve has had enough of AJs constant shouts of Maaaattttt Daaaaammmmooonnn!!!! I still maintain that wild mice are amongst the most boring and lame rides ever. Onto the wild mouse and AJ practises his Mexican for the experience. Yes Elissa, you're not seeing things I'm afraid. McDonalds is no more at Chessington. Say hello to Burger King. AJ tries to access Private parts but has no luck. The ride itself is not bad. It has some real foot chopper moments. See what I mean? Vampire has one of the coolest station's around. AJ gets himself psyched up for the experience. Next up we did Vampire. So here's a nice shot of the ride's sign. I genuinely believe that this is one of the best coasters in the UK. If Fury is anything to go by I absolutely cannot wait to try out Winjas and Crush this summer! Then we got to ride the awesomeness that is Dragon's Fury! It's weird that I hate spinning rides but absolutely love Fury. First up we hit Tomb Blasters. Would have loved to have seen this ride before it became a shoot 'em up. It's still quite cool though. Unlike Divv and Andrew who made full use of their Annual Passes on this trip. AJ and Steve are upset that they have to wait in line for tickets. Ah dammit... Bubbleworks is closed. Andrew and AJ will have to wait til next time to experience this randomness. Second park of the day - Chessington!

Hey people, over the last few days a few Midwest Trip participants rolled back the months by having a little get together in the UK. Specifically it was a few members of the extended Hooters Crew (you may have seen that name mentioned before in some of the Midwest reports). It all started in January with a random MSN conversation between Andrew and myself that resulted in Andrew booking flights to London for this past week. After others heard that he was coming over we managed to round up a couple of other new Midwest friends and we had a little reunion in the UK. So we had Andrew (coaster_dude2002) coming over from Canada, AJ (AJMouse) coming over from Holland and UK members Scott (Fallen Heretic), Dave (fudgey), Mike (Meik) as well as myself (Divv) from the Midwest Trip. Also joining us was Scottish member Steve (cobra_roll06). We even had Matteo come over from Italy to join us for the first few hours of the trip while we were at Thorpe Park. We had an absolute blast and I've got a feeling that this might be quite a fun trip report. I've pooled together most of the photos that everyone took and it looks like there's quite a good selection. It may start a little coastery but there should be some real fun antics in here too by the end. --- Update List: PART ONE: THORPE PARK (Below) PART TWO: CHESSINGTON PART THREE: HOOTERS! PART FOUR: ALTON TOWERS PART FIVE: BLACKPOOL NIGHT LIFE PART SIX: BLACKPOOL PLEASURE BEACH PART SEVEN: OAKWOOD --- PART ONE: THORPE PARK We decided to split our first day between two parks since we had the feeling that both of them would be pretty quiet this day. We were right, after getting to Thorpe Park for opening we were able to hit everything we wanted to very easily. We basically did all the coasters and a couple of the flats before heading out in the afternoon. I'm sure Andrew, AJ and the others will chime in with their thoughts on the parks and rides as we go along. Here's the first batch of photos... Here's part of the group. It'll be getting bigger soon. We had a great time at Thorpe but I think we were glad we had Chessington in the afternoon since we got everything done in record time. Chessington will be up soon! For a powered ride Flying Fish is not that bad. "Hello Ladies I'm AJ and I'll be in Blackpool soon so keep an eye out for me!" Before heading out of Thorpe we had just enough time to squeeze in the Flying Fish. Andrew can't quite believe what he's just experienced either. Here's Steve's after face! "WTF was that?! And how do I get out of here!" I don't think I've ever seen people so excited for a ride! X FULL STOP NO WAY OUT!!! And of course we had to do the "absolute must ride" coaster of the trip. You've all heard the full name before, but this time we bring you the slightly different version... We managed to squeeze in a ride on Detonator - one of the better drop rides. Who knows? Who cares? It's a fun ride anyway! Will there ever be another? This was the last B&M coaster to be built in the UK. Although its not the best B&M invert by any means its still the best ride in the park in my view. Nemesis Inferno was next on the list. Slammer gets the thumbs up from Andrew. Being that there are only two of these things around Andrew and AJ didn't want to pass up on the opportunity to ride. Seeing as we were in the area and there was no line a few of the guys rode Slammer. AJ relived the Colossus experience many times afterwards. These barrel rolls at the end go on a bit too long for my liking but they sure make for great photos! Yeah it's a bit shakey but I've definitely been on worse rides. Divv and AJ brace themselves. Next up was Colossus. We even got a little air on the hill. The launch is good. Although maybe not quite as good as Furius Baco for me. It's fun for what it is. Stealth was the first ride of the trip. AJ's excited to be here. The coasters are visible right from the car park. First stop of the day - Thorpe Park! The car's all packed so lets get going! Andrew is in the UK and we're just about ready to head off on our four day tour.

More awesome stuff Jahan! Funnily enough, I went into Beech Bend with 96 credits too. Although unlike you I opted to make Dragon Wagon my 100th. It just seemed quite fitting at the time. -

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
Divv3k replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't be too hard on them about the theming seeing as the old Tussauds regime who brought us the likes of Air is now gone and has been replaced by Merlin. The Tussauds name has pretty much been removed from all the places it used to be embossed in relation to the parks. The ride looks interesting. I'm glad it looks like Thorpe is having a go at theming something. Plus with a height restriction lower than the other big thrill rides this should to appeal to a broader audience. -
Thanks for posting this Erik! The coaster looks really cool. I absolutely loved Tibidabo when I visited last month but felt it lacked a real "signature attraction" well except for (Plane on a stick). This coaster looks like it could do the job - very reminiscent of Lisebergbanan!

Just wanted to say how much I'm loving this TR Lou! I was also in Chicago in August but I was having camera issues at the time so seeing your photos brought back some nice memories.

Photo TR: Divv does the Irn-Bru Carnival
Divv3k replied to Divv3k's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Cheers for the kind words folks! Yeah Chrissie, we'll do Loudoun or M&Ds one time when I'm back in Scotland and they're open. It was a shame you couldn't make it to the carnival. Scott, it's not just in photos that you look perpetually drunk. You did the top spin after we left? -
Every winter the largest indoor carnival in Europe comes to Glasgow and being Scottish and being in Glasgow for Christmas I obviously had to check it out. Another reason was that it gave me a chance to catch up with Scott (Fallen Heretic) who I hadn't seen since rooming with him on the Midwest trip and I also got to meet another Scottish member - Steven (Cobra-roll06). It's always good to go to the carnival with some fun people since the fair ground rides aren't generally my cup of tea. Well, the two credits there might be my cup of tea. I hadn't been to the carnival for a few years and it looks like I didn't missed much. The standards seem to have slipped all over the shop. When we got there we went to try and buy our entry vouchers at the box office only to be told to go somewhere else to get them, who in turn told us to go to yet another place. This is just one example of the disorganised staffing we continuously witnessed throughout our visit. I don't want to be too negative though. Scotland doesn't have much park wise so the carnival is a welcome addition, especially at this time of year. As part of your £10 entry fee you get ten vouchers each good to get you on one ride. For a guy like me who doesn't like spinning rides it was hard to find much to do with them past the two coasters. They weren't much exciting for coasters either. A wacky worm and a small spinning coaster, although they did afford Scott and I to relive the "lift hill dance" of the Midwest trip. There was a crappy fun house too which looked good from the outside but had too much stretches of walking and even a cattle pen right in the middle of it. Most of the other rides were spin and spews. Anyway despite the Irn-Bru Carnival not being so Divv-friendly I still had a great time. It was really good to catch up with Scott again and great to meet Steve too (who has kindly donated a few photos since my camera battery died before we left). Here's some photos... That'll do it from the carnival. Thanks for reading! Group photo. Me (Divv3k), Scott (Fallen Heretic) and Steven (Cobra_roll06). Scott tries his best not to lose any limbs on the way down. More slide POV! Steven in the background appears to be quite ready to consume Divv's head! Scott and Steven pick up their free souvenir doormats! The Super Fun Happy Slide seemed like a good way to round off our visit. Not to be outdone by any other carny. The Irn-Bru carnival has plenty of counterfeit cuddly toys to win. The drop tower was probably the best ride on offer. Giving a long programme and a bit of willy-lift too. Although Scott and Steven had a go. Bouncy bouncy couldn't even tempt me. The chair-o-planes were about as spinny as I wanted to get. The spinning rides were pretty much all past by. Steven can't get over how much fun he had in the fun house! Slide POV! Like the cattle pen! Steven can't wait to sample the stories of fun that await. The fun house looked like loads of fun from the outside. This ride was not Divv approved. Scott looks forward to the final turn into the brakes which was great for realigning our spines. The next stop was the spinning coaster. Yes Steven. You are sad and pathetic. The first stop has to be the kiddie credit. Every Christmas the Irn-Bru Carnival takes up hall 4 at the SECC.

The Official Nintendo Wii Discussion Thread
Divv3k replied to MiamiBoii4392's topic in Random, Random, Random
Got a Wii a few days ago. Loving it! My arm is also in pain from Wii sports over play. Ah well, it's worth it. Just getting into Mario Galaxy now. I'm in awe! -
Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this second part of the trip report - work and christmas stuff has just gotten in the way! Anyway, I have time now so without any further ado here is part two: Tibidabo. I should start by pointing out that I wasn't feeling too great on this morning due to maybe having a beer too many the night before. Luckily a quick stop at the side of the road on the way to Tibidabo sorted out my stomach for the most part. Also big thanks to Oriol who picked us up at the train station in Barcelona and took us all the way up to Tibidabo as well as sorting us out with tickets. You're the man Oriol! Tibidabo itself was excelent and the view was simply breath taking. I'd seen pictures of the view from the park before but they simply do not do it justice. Seeing Barcelona from that high up really was a sight to behold. The rides themselves were nothing special but since most of them offered a variation on looking at that amazing view I was impressed with most of what I rode. Unique rides like "Bucket on a Stick" and "Plane on a Stick" really make this a place worth visiting. Whilst I really enjoyed Port Aventura and found that place very impressive in many areas I still find myself prefering Tibidabo in many ways. The place is just full of charm and has many unique takes on the park experience. Onto the photos... I could post photos from Tibidabo all day. but they just don't do the place justice. I really enjoyed it. Thanks again to Oriol. And cheers to Tom, Ben and Jake for providing company. Until my next TR... The view transforms to this at night. Just as impressive! As evidenced by Tom here. Watching the sunset from Tibidabo was another one of many "must photograph that" moments experienced this day. This might be the only coaster here just now but there's talk of another being added soon. Plane on a stick gets a long queue at all times of day. It's one of those things that you just have to ride. As night falls the park still looks incredibly cool. Those that didn't throw up in the morning also gave the Top Spin a go. It also has a little dark ride section. With a nice little "surprise" at the end. Apparently the suspended monorail is the oldest ride in the park. There's not enough Divv photos in this update so here's one of me. Rideop extraordinaire Oriol takes on the Dodgems! The ferris wheel also offers another look at those same amazing views. Who needs the London eye!? "Bucket" offers a cool look at other parts of the park. You might not want to shake the bucket much as it's a long way down. The infamous "Bucket on a Stick"! This definitely had a "homemade" feel. It was very cool. Hotel Krueger was a haunted walkthrough thingy with live actors and such. It was quite creepy, the actors talking in Spanish probably added to this. There's our man Oriol operating ride! Thanks again for the transport and tickets! The coaster was also very smooth. Something I didn't expect from this inhouse built ride. Tibidabo also offers a credit, which just makes the place even more appealing! Wherever you went in Tibidabo you couldn't help being blown away by the view! I'm sure Tom will thank me for posting this photo of his arse! Castle Misterioso was a welcome surprise. A type of Funhouse walkthrough which offered plent of laughs. The only downside was that the "Super Fun Happy Slide" inside was closed. There's a powered coaster there too. It's actually quite good fun and was a lot better than expected. Although Tom, Jake and ben appeared to enjoy it. "Swing on a Stick" is a ride I avoided after my earlier bout with the previous days exploits. The most famous of Tibidabo's rides is "Plane on a Stick" or Aeroplane Ride or whatever it's called. Of course you're just reading this to see the rides so here ya go! There's even cultural experiences on offer for those of you who are that way inclined! Home to one of the most stunning views you'll ever come accross at a park. The second day of our trip took us to Tibidabo!
-
Ah well, our trip reports are pretty similar as expected. I suppose that happens when you're walking about together and stop to take pictures at the same time!
-
Well I'm not long back from another foreign theme park adventure and so of course a trip report must follow! Although this one won't be quite as epic as my last trip report I hope you enjoy it (even if it's pretty similar to Tom's)! Seeing as it's off season for most parks around here in order to satiate your appetite for coasters and parks you really have to look at the parks that actually are opened at this time of year. Thankfully Spain has a few parks which fit this description and allowed Tom and I to visit some parks we hadn't been to before and at a time there is much else on offer. We visited Port Aventura and then Tibidabo and had a real good time at both places! Here's the Port Avenutra portion of the trip. I'll get to Tibidabo soon enough I'm sure. It was a real early rise for us seeing as our flight left Stansted for Reus at 0610 in the morning but thankfully since I live only a few minutes from Stansted we didn't have far to travel in the morning and were able to sleep on the plane and were then able to take a bus that got us to the Port Aventura El Paso Resort where we were staying. The hotel was quite nice and being close to the park is always a nice thing. We also met up with other CoasterForce members Jake, Ben and Oriol later in the day which was nice since it's always good to meet other friendly enthusiasts and share expereinces. Port Aventura is a really impressive looking park. It really measured up to the likes of Busch Gardens Europe for me in terms of theming and it has some really good rides. A couple of poor ones too, but for the most part it's a pretty good park. Maybe not as good as a lot of people hype it up to be in my eyes but it's still a cool place to spend a day. Anyway, in typical Divv TR fashion I'll just do my ride run through: - Furius Baco: When we got to the park this was opened so we went straight for it since you just know these things can just die at any moment. And what with my luck with Intamin rides this year there's a good chance it could die on me. Thankfully it didn't! My first ride was on the inside seat on the right of the front row. Really good ride! Lots of fun, a bit shakey, but it still has a really good launch and some real good sections. I rode later on the outside closer to the rear of the train and I wasn't so impressed. A bit too rough for my liking but not the worst in the world either. Oh and the preshow bit before the launch is very amusing. I'm still not really sure how I rank this against the other accelerators I don't think it's miles ahead of the other ones but I don't think it's miles behind any of them either. - Stampida: Ouch. This was not a good ride. Both sides really jackhammered quite a bit and banged me up in quite a few places. It's a shame really, since it does have quite an interesting layout and I love the interaction but sadly it's just too rough to enjoy. I wish I got the chance to ride this with the old trains. - Tomahawk: Better than Stampida! Actually one of the better junior woodies I've done and you can interact with the other Stampida trains without getting killed! - El Diablo: Arrow mine train. Pretty lame to be honest. Just as it starts to get good you hit another lift hill. - Templo Del Fuego: This was really cool! Anything with copious amounts of fire is good in my book. It's just a shame it wasn't Stampida that was burning. - Hurakan Condor: A bit of a letdown. I don't know if I've just done too many drop towers to appreciate these rides now but I really didn't think the ride was that exhilarating. Plus the standup floorless side really wasn't good for my manhood. - Dragon Khan: Excellent ride. My first B&M sit-down too. I really liked the layout and it really had that early B&M "feel" that you get on rides like Nemesis and Batman. We got quite a few night rides, which were really good, this ride just doesn't let up. - Tami-Tami: Just another kiddie credit really. - Sea Odyssey: I didn't know what to expect from this so I guess it was satisfying enough to walk on and experience. But not anything overly exciting. I think that covers the rides. Some good and average rides and some really good theming make PA an impressive place and I had a fun day. Although I have to say I wasn't too enamoured with the operations, the amenities or the food. Only two sides of Hurakan Condor were running and the ops directed you to where to sit. This was the same on the coasters, you were never really allowed to pick a row you sat where you were told. Every time I tried to buy some hot food it was always cold, I don't really think that's acceptable for any park, especially one of PS's calibre. Tom also searched nine different locations in the park which were supposed to have cash machines only to not be able to draw cash out of any of them for a number of reasons. But I don't want to dwell on the negatives too much, since I did have a good day there and I'm sure I'll go back one day. That said I'm in no big rush. Onto the photos! (which will probably look eerily familiar to Tom's, but anyway!) Of course it wouldn't be a Divv TR without a photo like this to end it! Tibidabo will be up soon! Which just got better and better as night wore on! Of course that just meant we could go ride Khan some more! But it died so us geeks just took some track photos. As the sun set we headed back down to Furius Baco. Khan provides double the vertical loop goodness. But enough of all these other rides. it's all about Dragon Khan! Sea Odyssey. A fun walk-on simulator ride. Not the best in the world, but not bad either. Yeah there's a kiddie credit too. Tom took pictures. Check out his TR. Khan is not only a great coaster to ride. It's also one of the most impressive looking coasters I've seen. Not bad for a ride that's approaching it's 13th birthday. You see Alpengeist? Cobra rolls really don't have to be huge! Riding Khan has made me even more determined to ride Kumba soon. Why don't B&M build coasters forceful like this anymore? Mmmm... Khan twisty track goodness. Tom enjoys using the "Cheeky bastard" entrance! That's right - time for Dragon Khan! Finally! Time to ride my first B&M sitdown. It seemed that whenever the ride was about to get good you'd just hit another lift hill. The arrow mine train was up next. Not much to write home about. But like another certain 300 foot Intamin ride I rode in Ohio a few months ago this was a bit of a letdown. I expected a lot from this, since I really liked Apocalypse at Drayton Manor. Mexico is also home to Hurakan Condor. Like everywhere else in the park, the Mexican section has some really cool theming. Like so many other junior woodies I've rode this year, this one was better than the larger one sitting next door. You got a right doing no matter where you sat. I don't think one train was worse than the other. They were both just as bad as each other in my view. A shame because this ride looks like it could have been great. Where the comfort of the ride wasn't affected by where you sat. Next up was Stampida. If you can only ride this once try and get the front centre seats. (if somehow the ride ops let you). It really makes a huge difference to the comfort of the ride. Another happy train of inside seat riders laugh at the people sitting next to them as the train comes in. The queue line has some crazy theming. But it all makes for a fun pre-launch. And more importantly - Furius Baco! Enough of the hotel. Let's hit the park! This was the view from our room. Sadly this bar never opened while we were there. The Hotel El Paso would be our home for the next two nights. Welcome to Port Aventura. Home to Woody and copious amounts of graffiti. As soon as you get off the plane you can actually see Port Aventura in the distance!

Theme Park Review Hoodies are BACK!!!
Divv3k replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I picked up my hoodie from the post office today! It's super comfortable and it's nice to have an alternative to the black pullover I already own! This will serve me well over the coming cold months. -
Mitch's Coaster Poll
Divv3k replied to ScubaSteve442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sent mine in last night. Here's my top ten: 1. Balder 2. El Toro 3. The Voyage 4. Kentucky Rumbler 5. Avalanche 6. My Favorite Steel 7. Renegade 8. Cornball Express 9. Raven 10. Grand National Of course, Son of Beast secured its position in last place! -
Took me 10 seconds searching to find this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18449 You should also take into account inflation and the fact that the next trip may be a different length of days or visit some different parks from the 2006 trip.

EL TORO vs. THE VOYAGE
Divv3k replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode both El Toro and The Voyage in August and can say that I prefer El Toro. The reason being that EVERY ride I had on El Toro was amazing, it didn't matter what row or what time of day it still gave the same amazing rides (although the back row later in the day was probably gave me my best rides). With Voyage the rides in the rows closer to the front earlier in the day didn't compare to those rides I had in the back row right at the end of the day. In the end I really loved both rides and my best ride on Voyage was maybe slightly better than my best ride on El Toro. However, the fact that El Toro gives you butter smooth airtime filled rides all day and in any seat puts it slightly above it for me. Of course Balder still beats both
