  1. As much as I would love to have a forward and a backward train, would that even be feasible? What modifications are necessary to be able to run a backward train, and would those modifications also be able to support a forward train?
  2. I just figured it's another TPR inside joke, with no one actually believing in it. Although I would be curious to see how the whole 'Aquatrax!' joke started...
  3. I would definitely take the park map with a grain of salt (the size of your fist). The Six Flags maps are even less accurate than the Cedar Fair ones IMO, and they don't even have the charm that CF does. Or maybe they're trying to tell us that they'll remove the zero-G roll as well... CONSPIRACY!!!
  4. QFT. Sometimes when I look at TPR I feel like an idiot for not finding a problem with every coaster. I went to GAdv with some college friends in October, and I was pretty much the only one not to find Bizarro boring. Even if it's one that I know is rough or isn't terribly interesting, I'll go on it and enjoy it at least a little bit because, hey, roller coaster. It's not something you do every day (well, at something I don't do every day) and I try to cherish every moment of it. Except for Shockwave at KD. Tear that to the ground.
  5. Nope. People in the reporting business should just stay the hell away from discussing theme parks. They literally have no clue what they're talking about a majority of the time, and that misinformation gets spread to the general public. Irresponsible news-reporting IMO. If that was the stance reporters took, there would be no news anywhere on any subject.
  6. Dark Knight! Move it out of there and put a giant multilooper in the Dark Knight/Chiller spot. Ever since the Chiller left that whole area has been dead. Also, to get a little pedantic, Bizarro isn't really a clone; it's the original floorless! But it is on a nice flat tract of land, so I should probably get in as many rides on it as I can before it's gone.
  7. If you use the scroll wheel to scroll up and down quickly on that last picture, it looks like the train is dancing!
  8. I'll just go with the mantra of "They've probably figured this out by now."
  9. Do you mean like in the stations of floorless coasters? At first I thought that there would be a similar mechanism for the winged seats, but now I'm thinking that they'll just hang over the station platform. Although now that I think about it, that'll leave people's legs dangerously close to the floor when the train dispatches... anybody have insight on the dispatch procedure for the trains?
  10. I don't think it's any wider than I305's track (but who knows how that compares to the box-spine); I think it's just beefier to account for the larger trains.
  11. Pardon the double-post, but this news from Screamscape seems pretty noteworthy: Is that real-life Mario Kart I see as an option? And the iCheetahMaverSpeed that Magic Mountain apparently isn't getting? I'm guessing it goes without saying that the 500-foot prefab Wing Rider Aqua Trax was one of the other options.
  12. Those that wouldn't be ready for KK almost definitely wouldn't be ready for a 450-foot drop tower inside of KK, so I'm struggling to think of what kind of attraction would have to be in that area to bring said scaredy-cats over there.
  13. Today has gotten so much better! And in regard to the the padding that may or may not be there, those don't look particularly painful to me. I've never really had a problem on Intamin restraints, not even when stapled on El Toro (but that's probably because the adrenaline makes me forget really quickly (as I'm sure Skyrush will do too (this is a lot of parentheses!!!))).
  14. There's also the fact that not everyone wants to sit on the wing seats. I've told a few friends about the winged seats, and showed a few of them the concept art, and pretty much all of them are terrified of the idea of hanging out on the edge like that. It'll just sort itself out. And if for whatever reason i doesn't, HP will figure out pretty quick a way to make it work. PRE-POST EDIT: This could probably be as simple as a sign saying "Hey guys, the seats are different, you might wanna think about this before you sit down."
  15. I looked at the picture for a good five seconds and thought "huh, I don't remember clicking on the Dorney Park Discussion Thread." Maybe I should go to bed... Either way, looking good! Those colors are very pleasing to the eye, and hopefully won't fade as depressingly as the old colors did.
  16. This actually looks a lot less compact than I thought it would be. But still looks like a whole lot of fun! Hopefully all those empty spaces will get lots of nice theming or landscaping.
  17. What if this happened and they intertwined the two? So the middle of Flashback's cobra roll would be threaded through Boomerang's loop, and vice versa, and then they were run at the same time? Dueling Boomerangs. WHOA.
  18. Here's his response to how Mantis is Green Lantern: I just don't know how to respond to any of those at all. Was this this particular commenter FunAndOnly, by any chance?
  19. A brief Google Image Search shows that the towers were always blue.
  20. ^Doesn't that particular type of scorpion only glow blue underneath a UV light? So is this a "scorpion at a blacklight party" themed ride?
  21. Well at least its queue won't need any switchbacks then!
  22. I am also ambivalent about this idea. Unlike LL:DOD or Giant Drop, I don't see how a drop ride could be grafted onto Kingda Ka's support tower without some serious retooling, at which point it'd probably just be easier to make the drop ride a standalone structure. That being said, has there been any new news regarding KK's broken-down-ness? Have there been any attempts made to fix it in the off-season or is it just sitting there all busted up?
  23. ^I really hope it's a game-changer as well, but in all likelihood, the only game being changed is B&M's own. For better or worse, Intamin takes many many more risks than Walter and Claude do.
