^I actually quite enjoy Rolling Thunder. The Fun:Pain ratio is still high enough for me to get on it at every visit. Usually I'm the only one in my group who tends to think so The one coaster that sticks out as the roughest for me would have to be Mind Eraser at SFNE. That ride made me miserable for almost the whole rest of the day.

The Mysterious B&M Green Wingrider Track

They managed to fit in 200, 300, and 400 coasters; if they really wanted to, they could fit in whatever they damn well please. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
UrbanLegend replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know that there's a massive amount of stuff crammed into CP; I was just saying that if, for whatever reason, they were to actually run out of room at some time in the future, there isn't exactly a parcel of land next to the park that CF can begin to develop. Of course, me being stupid and wrong and stupid is still a possibility. -
Although I would love to see a forwards train and a backwards train, I'm guessing they'll run both backwards. The former option would probably lead to empty forwards trains being run because the GP want a backwards train like they saw in the commercials. Although I suppose that could be solved with a Forward Line and a Backward Line...

^Basically, with almost every major park I can think of (with the exception of maybe Cedar Point ), take the amount of land the park currently occupies, double or even triple it, and you have the amount of land the park can potentially work with. I'd be really interested to see if this would actually happen. Everybody buy more Hershey bars so we can get more Hersheypark! -

Now that is cool! It looks like it might get some Dragon Khan riders wet if the timing is right I don't know my way around the park; ow close is this going to be to a footpath area? At first I thought the tiled portion would be pedestrian areas, but that wouldn't make much sense now would it. -

I think everyone is getting this confused with the 'What Is Your Home Park?' thread. -

This coaster, plus its theming, looks absolutely sublime! I love it!! I have relatives in Berlin, I'll have to persuade them to take me down to Europa Park someday; now's as good a time as any to go for the first time. -
O Great Title Fairy, I formally request a custom title from on high! I petition that it shall read: "Suddenly I desire string cheese and fresh breath..." If it appeases thee, please make it so *Attempts to turn off stereo. Stereo breaks, can only play Fresh Prince theme song now*

HOLY CRAP this ride is photogenic! I can't wait to see it in person in two months! Also, the station entrances/exit completely make sense now that all the railings are mostly all in. For some reason I was partly convinced that the station would end up being a confusing mess. -

I think it's best to limit yourself to one punctuation mark per sentence. So far the discussion has leaned toward a Cedar Fair park getting this, perhaps Cedar Point's rumored 2013 addition. That, or an overseas park that needs extra time for transportation. But as far as statements backed up by facts go... -
http://www.webcitation.org/65VNNWB6G In all likelihood it's going to the scrap heap, but idle speculation sure beats studying any day of the week Assuming some park is willing to handle this ride's baggage (perhaps switch to LSMs?), where do you think it would go? EDIT: Another random question I just thought of. What's the longest a coaster has been in storage and lived to tell about it?

Well, they are similar in that they're both made by B&M. That must be what they meant. Hell, I would give them credit if they figured out that the two are both made by the same company based on their track shape. -

^^ Silver Dollar City is already getting... something from Rocky Mountain Construction next year. Footers are already going in. Nobody's quite sure what it is, but it'll likely be magnificent. So, no, not SDC. -

If Cedar Fair really wanted a Flyer, they would purchase a Flyer. There's nothing stopping a park from ordering any B&M model that they want. Hell, if CF wanted another stand-up somewhere, B&M isn't going to say "Sorry, we only manufactured those from 1990-1999. You'll have to pick another model." B&M would gladly take Cedar Fair's money. (Although I could be completely butt-talking here ; who knows if they still have the machinery capable of making the trains for all their different ride styles). That being said, they'd be more likely to buy a Wing Rider, since that's the hot new thing now. -

IT's big. IT's fast. IT's coming. Closer and closer and closer. German premiere 2014 [presumably the first of its kind in Germany... whatever IT may be]. Here. At Heide Park Resort. Although I do realize now that right now is a bit early for track fabrication to start for something opening in 2014. My mistake; I guess I was a bit eager to put two and two together. -

Except that the new Heath Ledger Joker would never have this bright of a green; this would be more befitting of an Adam West-era Joker. Besides, what tagline would they use for a Joker-themed Wing Rider (in the same vein of 'stand up to your fear' or 'the last stand')? -

Once again, this is from Hershey's FB. Upon realizing that trackwork was complete: Well the first thing is that he was actually the sixth to post, but what I found most amusing was that he included his contact information (which I obscured so as not to spread some stranger's personal data). I guess he's giving it to the park so they could contact him to be the first to ride. Man, I wish it were that easy -
Best Theme Park Map Design
UrbanLegend replied to RollerCoasterSmi's topic in Random, Random, Random
That Kings Island map is actually the first map in the Cedar Fair style that I dislike. Too much empty space in the green areas. At least add some trees or something. Or a rotting run-down SoB structure Now my addition: Colorful and informative (2009?): Tacky confusing bullshit (1997): But at least it still had GASM and The Chiller. My, how Great Adventure has changed. -
TPR's SFGAm X-Flight Construction Tour!
UrbanLegend replied to mcjaco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Goodness, I feel so wrong, but also... so right This is at least the third 2012 coaster that's going to one of the oldest rides the park (Leviathan/Dragon Fire and Skyrush/Comet). Must be some memo going around the parks so people can get some nice old/new photo ops How might the drops of X-Flight and The Swarm compare? This one is a lot more bowed outward than its UK brother.
