Alton Towers Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kinda have some news here: Here is the promised better shot of the poster and do my eyes tell me lies or are those Lap bars? Also From Towerstimes Facebook a sneak peak of the Inoculum of Joy (spider). This is getting interesting. -

Found this on the Towers2go Facebook page. They said to release the full poster of it tonight. Guess this is a hint towards the trains. Weird design I must say. Apparently Burger King left the park this year and is replaced by Burgers Kitchen. Found this also worthy of letting you guys know. -

^ The 15th is the earliest that I can do. It will only be later on in July that I can go. Any chance that there are single rider line's? -

^^ That was actually the plan. I was planning to go between the 15th and wanted to fly back on the 20th of July. Any way to skip the original queue-line's? -

Finally more action on site. They're taking to damn long for the vertical construction to begin with. Just a quick question here: How long will queue be in mid July? I'm going then and so wondered about it. Besides I think you made some mistakes with the text on the pictures as they point out to other pictures. -
Worst Lift Hill View
RCT3Bross replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This totally made my day. Haven't laughed so hard in times. My worst hill view is a general one. It goes for every ride that gives a view on the Parking lot man that's something I don't want to see till the end of the day. -

I've been follow this project all long time since I'm going on openings day (Yes there will be pictures ) and I must say that this area sure looks nice. This isn't going to stop for some time since next year they will come with a brand new entrée and in 2015 (maybe) a mega coaster of 20 million €. They planed a lot and will sure to battle against the Efteling soon I think this park can be our (The Dutch) new pride. This park sure is on the right track. Besides love the music in the link just sweet. -

It's been some time since we heard from the park so here a Update of the new Billboard of the Swarm: Source: http://planning.runnymede.gov.uk/RBCNGE/ngeResultsForm.aspx?intref=RU.13%2f0125 Here some pictures: You go through it when you're exiting the 0 G roll. Also they seem to do some edits on the ground around it but i guess just the missing pieces of the Billboard. To get you more into the idea of how it will look on his place. And the Billboard it self. Apparently there was a contest on Facebook about what it should say. I guess we need to wait about that since the contest is over. What do you guys think about this edit? I think its makes it look more like a city but I already thought they had enough for the Swarm. -

And an other piece: Still 3 pieces and they're done with the last inversion. Looks good. -

I lost it. I mean like the one on Raptor (Gardaland), X-Flight and the Swarm. I should have said that better. Looks like they did some changes to the Support of the In-Line twist. -

^ More like a barrel roll. I guess the normal in-line twits would have been to long for this ride. Looking good no figure they where late today they already connected two pieces on the ground. -

They're done with the Inclined Dive Loop and there on there way to the last inversion the In-line twist: Looking at this we could see the In-line twist up tomorrow. -

^ I know what you mean this been bugging me the last few hours. I can see something but can't confirm if it's a piece of track or part of a crane. You can clearly see a difference there on the screen-shot atop of this page and on the current image. I guess we need to see where the next piece lands. -

Each piece of track gets me more and more exited about this ride. I have no doubt in my mind that they will finish the circuit this month. -

Hmm I don't know how late they will end today's sift but will they place one more track piece today? Or work on the next support already? Or will they leave that till tomorrow? I just watched the supports of the Diveloop and there almost ready with that too, only two left, one big one small. There fast Hop to see the Inline twist soon. -

Went back to Towertimes and have come back with a Update on the smiler: 8 February: Still corrected. Also a look at Oblivions repaint. Staffordshire knot close up. A lot of concrete. Starts looking good. X-Sector 2013 in the making. A lot of ground work on the Smiler. Oblivion repaint. Footers on top of the hill. Construction storage. X-Sector. Even the station gets some love. 12 February special piece: Covered piece of track. Brake or Secret Weapon? Weird angle. That's a some side wing. Note each picture has been given public on Towertimes Special Smiler page. So what do you think about the covert piece of track? Do you think its part of the Secret Weapon or can you link it to a piece of Gerstlauer. Also on Towerstimes main page the park map has been updated now with the Smiler on his place. But it was a small image so I won't share it. -

Read that article just now and it seems they where putting money in this ride like it is water. I've heard that it was was bad and so I don't understand this at all. I wonder what happens if the ride doesn't get better or even more worse. Will they understand then? Surprised that I don't see any comment of Robb about this. -

Perhaps this is just that little push that I needed. This ride always kept me from the park and with OzIris opening last year I'm thinking about this park a lot. I'm going to hear if the ride is getting better after this, if it is I'm going. -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
RCT3Bross replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Blue fire it is. Currently my favorite coaster I've ridden. The launch totally surprised me unlike any other launched coaster I done.
