  1. Looking at the Membership info, it appears that with a Gold Membership, you get free parking at all Six Flags parks. is that the same with the Gold Season Pass? because that free parking at Fiesta as well as SFOT makes it worth if for us -- turns it into a day trip, instead of staying overnight (yeah, we get two days by doing that, but we also do it so we can walk to the park from the Best Western and don't have to pay for parking). . .
  2. Um, she can't get pregnant if you do her in the caboose... ok. .this was funny!
  3. heh. .it's so good, because they got almost the entire original Broadway Cast back (only ones not in the original cast were Mimi & Joanne). so yeah. . my answer is "Rent". . seen it dozens of times, own the soundtrack, own the DVDs (both of the film and the final Bway show), and . . yeah EDIT. . LOL, just realized you were telling him to "Rent Billy Elliot". . .not the film version of "RENT" I'm dumb sometimes. . LOL
  4. Are you sure that's what that is? looks to me like that's not the first drop, but rather that's the final dive off the cliff, and then up into the tunnel (the tunnel entrence has always been covered with an open sided tunnel before it actually goes into the rocks). if you go back a few pages and look at the posted layout, you can see the tunnel there after the dive off the cliff. but there's no tunnel showing at the bottom of the 1st drop.
  5. I dunno. .based on the comments regarding the Ship's crew, and some very nice looking Youtube video of the trip?. . I don't see how a case can be made. even if there is some awful pictures/video -- the "good" stuff counteracts it. no way would a ruling go against the Cruise Line. . I just don't see it.
  6. Well. . that didn't take too long (tho the solo lawsuit filed the day the ship actually docked kinda takes the cake). http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/20/us/florida-carnival-triumph-lawsuit/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 the only folks who will benefit from this, are gonna be the lawyers. shame these folks got inconvenienced, but it's not like they were in any mortal danger -- no judge/jury in their right minds is going to rule in favor of these passengers (who are coming across already as greedy moochers). Carnival refunded your cost, gave you ANOTHER cruise free, *and* offered you $500. . that's likely the best offer they are gonna get.
  7. huh. that would be a good fit for it (in the trailer, it looks to be behind Frisbee running out along side the parking lot. . .which is something that SF0T does w/ Judge Roy Scream.. so wouldn't be unprecedented location. and really. . with the remake of Rattler, it leaves Fiesta w/out a true woodie. so maybe. (tho I'd be lying if I said I was happy to see Pandemonium still in the trailer. . LOL. . . seriously, even the old Joker coaster (backwards corkscrew) was better than Pandemonium is)
  8. ^^ Larry is a total sweetheart, and we've been using him for over a dozen years now (he's the Brother of one of my friends, so I was using him for solo travel even before Nick and i met). As I noted, he knows what we like, and it's great having 'family' as our travel agent. . tho as I noted, he's a bit fru-fru (we were ready to kill him on our Hawaii trip when we thought he had booked us on Gay only tourgroups. . LOL. . but it turned out we just happened to be on the buses with several groups of lesbians). . He has always done an incredible job for us (Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Hawaii, Vegas). . he typically gets us a really, really good deal. but sure!. .if you don't mind looking for us, I'd greatly appreciate it. we have to be in Vancouver on 5/25 for a wedding, so we are looking to fly in on 5/24, and be available to leave on a cruise starting 5/26. we advised Larry that we can do anything from a 7-12 day trip. Whatever would work. here's the pricing he gave us for Celebrity: Inside Cabin including taxes - Total for 2 - $1860 Outside Cabin with Verandah OR Concierge Level Verandah Cabin - Total for 2 - $3380 Celebrity Suite - Total for 2 - $3720 Sky Suite - Total for 2 - $3820.00 THANKS!
  9. hmm. . ok, thanks for the feedback. the pricing seems a little high (to me at least), but that's for either the suites, or for an outside room w/ balcony (i'm thinking that's likely the way to go). The inside rooms seem reasonable: ~$1800 for the two of us . . .but again, I'm thinking outside is way to go. Smaller ship doesn't bother me tho. . .as long as it has Casino and restaurants we're happy regardless of size (heh). Do you think it's worth it to try and get a more "current" ship? we absolutely can push back on our agent and tell him we don't like this, what else do ya got?. . hehe
  10. I'm not an Alvey . . but the only four things that ever seem to get a line at SFOT when we are there are: La Vibrora, Texas Giant, Titan, and the Flume. all four are located on the left when you enter the park, and Titan/Giant are next to each other. the flume is a good one, but the lines can be insane -- particularly on a hot day -- but to "cool" down, we typically skip the line and instead go on Runaway Mountain (a perfectly acceptable indoor coaster). I'd catch the bobsleds (la Vibrora) first, since that will get the longest, slowest moving line in the park early! Mr Freeze -- if it's open -- can sometimes get a line, but we've found it moves pretty fast. Shockwave too. . line moves fast. Same is true for Batman, Runaway Mine Train, and Judge Roy Scream (this one won't ever have a line). so what we do?. . go to the left (along w/ everyone else), and just ride things in order. Of course, we don't mind standing in lines of 10-15 minutes. hope that helps?
  11. ok. . heard back from our Travel Agent (he's a little fru-fru, so he always tends to go a bit high end, sigh. . but he knows what we like), and he's recommending: Celebrity Century - 7 night cruise from Vancouver, day crising the Inside Passage, cruise Icy Strait Point, cruise Hubbard Glacer, Juneau, Ketchikan, cruise Inside Passage, back to Vancouver. Really only 2 stops - Juneau and Ketchikan, but both are good ports, the other has amazing scenery of the Glaciers, depending how close the captain can get (last time was very close) In regards to the Century, he says : "this is the ship we took for 19nights - they were going to renovate the whole ship, so was nice, but should be REAL NICE" Now I don't recall what cruise he and his partner took for 19 days. . but it obviously was prior to the renovation of the ship I'm curious as to your opinion, Elissa, of the itinerary mentioned above. My Agent points out it's only two stops, but says they are good ports. . and the idea of the cruise is to enjoy the Alaska Glaciers/atmosphere. . so it sounds like there's a bunch of that! so what do you think? we had him look into 1way and then flying back from Alaska. . but we couldn't get it to work with the Wedding (only option would have been to arrive way earlier than the wedding, and we can't because of work).
  12. LOL. .you're like my twin! I rarely go out clubbing these days, but when I was in my 20's we used to go to the local "preppy" bar -- where me, with my big purple mohawk and tattoos fit RIGHT in lemme tell ya ) -- but I loved to dance. . so I would go out on the dance floor and dance. Just me and a friend, or just me by myself, and ignore everyone else. It made for a fun night, and we didn't engage any of the drama (we weren't there to meet anyone, we just wanted to enjoy the music). after a night of dancing, we then would go to our local "dive" bar -- which technically wasn't a gay bar, but EVERYONE hung out there, and we would spend the remainder of the evening doing shots with our bartender friends, the drag queens, the lesbians, and anyone else who happened to be in the bar. . all were welcome. and those are some of my happiest memories
  13. ^^ there are plenty of social groups/clubs (some of them BASED out of bars/clubs), that are welcoming of all -- so that caused me to do a double-take, as I disagree with your statement: The thing that upsets me more than anything is that we want rights, but don't know how to get along with anyone in our community and we can't respect anyone's point of view except our own and that drives me nuts. If you are going to a club/bar, and you are feeling that way, then you simply haven't found the right atmosphere that's a fit for you. For certain there is a neighborhood bar, watering hole, or social club that is a good fit for you. . where you feel like "Cheers". . you walk in, and it's a community. they exist. You just need to find them. I know I bring up age a lot (as in I say to posters. . "you're young"). . but it's true. trust us old farts if the club isn't comfortable, it means it's not the right one for you. . but there is TONS of love and acceptance (and tolerance of all quirks) out there. . you just gotta keep looking until you find it! (((hugs)))
  14. hmm. . .since it won't let me, I'll just give ya the text "Krypton Coaster" and not "Krypton Koaster" ??? Learn to spell Feezda Tejas!
  15. that's not the Producers, that's the queens themselves. not sure if you've known any Drag "Superstars" / Performers personally, but I used to work door at a gay bar for several years, and maintained good friendships with several. . . the Drag persona is ALL about the drama. (all that "throwing shade" and "telling the T"?. . . it's all an act). I'd actually put money on the idea that the "feud" between Alyssa & Coco this season is all a gag they are pulling (staging it) to keep them both on the show as long as possible by offering the producers the promise of further drama. These two were friends for years, and they seem to be friendly here and there as well. . . . so yeah. . .the "meanness" that you are seeing? it's ALL performance (as I said, I'd put money on it). view the show with that in mind, and you can really enjoy it more
  16. Nothing here (never had em). but i used to get gauges, and studs every year for my Birthday, with the comment -- you LOOK like you should have piercings (I used to have a purple or red Mohawk for many, many years )
  17. I'd say "Paris" has best theming on the strip. tho Flaming's "Margaritaville" Casino is quite nice too. We're staying in CC for NASCAR weekend in about 4 weeks (first time we've ever stayed at this property). . I'll make a point of going into Adventuredome and taking pics, if anything new has gone in by then.
  18. ^^ having an openly gay creator also helps with the "sensibilities". . not that the show is overtly gay, but it has very gay undertones and it doesn't have to be either/all. . heh. .we love RuPaul as well as Blood and Guts (LOVE Walking Dead, and AHS, and slasher films too!).
  19. one of the best shows on TV. absolutely hysterical, and some of the bawdyness Ru gets away with! OMG. stuff that you have to scratch your head and wonder how the heck it gets past the censors! the main thing Ru always says is that the fierce queens need to stand out by showing their "Charisma Uniqueness Nerve & Talent" (yeah . that's the credo they get away with EVERY week!) and I can't even post a clip to the over the top "lipsynch" mini contest from last week. . as this is an all ages site here, and the set up for the contest (kneeling behind a divider, with only their lips showing thru a "hole") was definitely not for "all ages". . . LOL. . we were absolutely shrieking with laughter! so yeah. . Drag Race is one of the most fun shows on TV (oh, and you are absolutely adorable. . . yet I mourn the loss of the Hollister avatar )
  20. Add comic book fans to that list too (with a very much higher proportion of us being Wonder Woman fans)
  21. ^^ I was *totally* just teasing you, since every pic I've seen on TPR you seem to be wearing it and hey, I did say you look good I actually buy a lot of my clothes in Thrift Stores, or at Concerts (I'm very much a T-shirt & shorts person. . that's why I love the Tech Industry. . I get to wear those to work every day). if I have to go "nice". .then we just shop at Kohl's. honestly tho. . I have a lot of weird/fetish stuff that I only wear at conventions (like Dragon*con, or Las Vegas Fantasy Fetish ball). . so if you asked me, i'd absolutely say that I'm not a fashion snob and don't really own anything "name" other than a couple of Polo's I've had for many years.
  22. But you only have that one Hollister shirt! (not that you don't look good in it. . but. . . . )
  23. ^^ You're just not seeing the part of Houston where the majority of the "acceptance" (my word, not yours ) is. ie: the Montrose. I lived off of Montrose and Richmond for about 4 years a long, long time ago. . and yeah, it was like the gay ghetto, but I felt very accepted there. of course, this was years before Paul Broussard and for you younguns, here's the wiki entry on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Paul_Broussard I had moved to Austin 4 years prior to this. . but it still shocked the hell out of me (the fact that I so easily recall his full name speaks to that )
  24. I have over 10,000 vinyl in "Sound Warehouse" Record crates (remember those??). Mostly full albums (lots of metal, including multiple copies of every KISS album - many of them bought when they originally were released), and mainly focusing on the 70's-late 80's. what's not full albums are 12" singles (at least 2K of them) -- mainly 80's Industrial, Dance,Goth,Alternative music -- since I used to get the new singles every week at the Record Rack in Houston after hearing them in the club #'s on lower Westhimer. I guess you could say I'm a collector, since most of what I have is worth quite a bit of $$$ particularly the 12" singles from classic industrial bands, as are the rare picture discs and "blue label" KISS albums. but I still do listen to the vinyl fairly often.
