  1. Aww, and I still had my hopes up too.
  2. Nobody really knows if they can/can't go upside-down...there is only ONE in the whole world at the moment after all. I like how everybody's all been saying that if it's an Aquatrax it has to do this, that, and the other thing, and it obviously CAN'T go upside down or maneuver some of the transitions the track on this thing is doing. Because you know, when you build one of a kind of coaster, you just HAVE to build all subsequent versions of that type of coaster the same way.
  3. rcknrollercoast registered on TPOL yesterday...everybody's convinced he's Tony/Tyler. Although, in all fairness, I think if it turns out to not be an Aquatrax, Wes should ban himself.
  4. So has this thing been scrapped already or is it just SBNO with no intent to open it back up?
  5. That's some of the concrete foundation and one of the old ride footers that were around the station area, but the station itself is still there.
  6. Yeah, but if you go to the rides side of the park, it's usually DEAD.
  7. I'm paying close attention to what's going on at Valleyfair for '07, just because I'm gonna laugh my ass off if it turns out that Maverick is the name of their new coaster and all the CP fanboys have been wrong for months.
  8. ^ I don't think Mantis has ever run all 3 trains, the 3rd has been sitting under a tarp beneath the brakerun pretty much ever since it opened. But yeah, I think I'm going on the 15th too, and advice...don't even bother riding Raptor in the morning, the line is ridiculous with it being right at the front. I usually hit all the coasters on the right side of the park first (Wicked Twister, Corkscrew, Magnum, Gemini) and work my way around, since most people are either at Raptor, MF, or Dragster in the morning.
  9. Discovery Zone totally OWNED Chuck E Cheese! Ahh, childhood memories...
  10. OMG! ^ My brother has one of these! It's called an Izz, it's like some robot thing that makes funny noises and lights up, but it's also an mp3 player!
  11. I know it's really early to be making any cost estimates, but can I assume the Midwest trip will probably be a bit cheaper than the other 2?
  12. Because some looping Schwarzies are in the USA and some aren't.
  13. This thing looks really cool, fits right in at Fuji-Q too. But...I'm still not seeing where Guinness got 14 inversions.
  14. If it's the coaster I'm thinking of at the IX Indoor Amusement Park, that's a Pinfari coaster that actually was at Geauga Lake for a while, and has been at a few other parks. I'd count that, just like their spinning mouse they had a couple years ago. Doesn't matter if it's on RCDB or not, it's still a credit (especially if it's not powered!).
  15. Looks like one of the larger portable Pinfari's to me. It'd be hard to find any info on it since RCDB doesn't list traveling coasters, and to my knowledge there isn't a traveling coasters database out there anywhere...it'd be really hard to do but I kinda wish there was one.
  16. Most likely time to see one roll back is right after it rains probably...first test launch on Dragster after a heavy rainstorm, it usually doesn't even make it to the curve at the top of the tower...at least the 2 times I've seen it happen.
  17. Just open them up in Paint and go to Image > Stretch/Skew, and stretch them by however much smaller you want them. If you want a picture half the size, type in 50% vertical and 50% horizontal. Just make sure to use the stretch and not the skew.
  18. That's not an Aquatrax, it's a SuperSplash. An Aquatrax runs on regular Intamin track.
  19. Hmm, I wonder how many "credits"...nevermind I won't even go there.
  20. I figure this would be the best thread to ask this...is there a "Report Post" function on here? Maybe I'm blind and not seeing it, but I thought there was one...then again I frequent enough forums to get mixed up.
  21. It's not really that unusual when you think about it...Six Flags is just an amusement park company, while Disney is a huge corporation that makes toys, cartoons, movies, etc...their amusement parks are just one of many facets of the company, whereas for Six Flags, the amusement parks basically ARE the company. They aren't selling tickets to the amusement parks or anything there, so it's really not like selling stuff from a competitor.
  22. 3 rows of 3 people per car maybe? Hmm...anyway, with a 50 degree first drop, I really hope this doesn't turn out to be like one of those "Jet Coasters" (see Chris Belson's video).
  23. Wizard's Cavern...wasn't that the old Broadway Trip at Cedar Point? Wow, that's like mid-1960's, that ride lasted a long time for a coaster that travelled that much.
  24. Ever since supports started arriving, my best guess for this coaster is a longer, better version of Rita (or possibly Speed Monster), a launch coaster that packs a lot of elements low to the ground. I say this because the supports that have gone up the last 2 days are all pretty low to the ground and the top connecting pieces are angled like they'll connect to track, not other support pieces, and all the other supports that have yet to be put up, none of them seem to be much over 30 feet long. I'm sure an AquaTrax could fit the same type of layout though, the train type is the biggest "if" in my opinion.
  25. Vertical construction started today, there are a handful of small supports going up.
