  1. Meh...kinda disappointed that the name ended up being what it was rumored as for months...hell, the Thorpe site even referred to it as "Project Stealth" during construction many times! I voted for Humdinger too.
  2. Actually, the older Intamin standups were designed and built when B&M (the 2 guys, I can't spell their names off the top of my head) were still employed at Intamin. Rides like this and Shockwave at Drayton Manor are actually extremely similar to the modern B&M standups, except the trains are designed differently. I wouldn't be surprised if B&M built new trains for it, since they had a large part in designing the rides originally.
  3. I honestly think that Geauga Lake isn't going anywhere in the near future. Having visited it under both Six Flags and Cedar Fair ownership, I know that operations inside the park have improved DRASTICALLY in the past couple years. The new waterpark has made it a better all-around park, plus it's included in the regular admission (which is substantially lower than the price of a ticket to Cedar Point I might add). It has lost a lot of non-coaster rides, but give it time. Ever heard of the trickle-down theory? Eventually, all the revenue earned by Cedar Fair's biggest park (Cedar Point) is going to make its way to the other parks. Knott's has gotten Xcelerator and Silver Bullet, Worlds of Fun is getting Patriot, Valleyfair has Steel Venom plus the new Screamin' Swing, Dorney got Hydra, Michigan's Adventure is getting a new water ride, Geauga Lake has a new waterpark. Cedar Point is still Cedar Fair's number one park, so it adds new major attractions more regularly, but if you think about it, all the other Cedar Fair parks have been adding stuff too. I think with 2007 being Kinzel's last year, he's gonna do something for each park in the chain. At least that makes sense to me. I wouldn't be surprised a bit if Geauga Lake added a couple new flats or a wild mouse for '07. I think a major coaster is awfully wishful thinking, but the park is going in the right direction.
  4. I thought the tires on the back of the cars on TTD just started spinning one day and they took them off as a safety precaution?

    POV Request

Well, if you can settle for a second-rate non-TPR humor-filled version, there's one on rollercoasterpro.com. -Anthony "but why in the world would you do THAT?" Staten
  6. My girlfriend got me into DDR, I usually play on Light but I'm starting to move up to Standard for some of the easier songs. I'm a little ways into Area C on Dance Master mode.
  7. ^American parks can't do it because you know somebody would sue somebody over something. (Ambiguous description, I know, but that's how it usually goes.)
  8. WTF! The weather out here is warmer than that and there isn't even snow on the ground, but nooooo, everything's gotta be closed. Now I have a bad urge to go get some credits at Geauga Lake that I still need. Anyway, I see that Lightning Coaster is still standing in the pic from Camel Coaster, did you happen to take a look at it? I know it's been SBNO for a long time but it's a shame to see a Schwarzkopf-designed coaster rotting where it stands.
  9. Interesting offseason for the Indians so far... Gains: -Kept Ronnie Belliard for another season -Re-signed Scott Sauerbeck to a 2-year deal -Signed Paul Byrd for 2 years with an '08 option -Re-signed Bob Wickman for another year -Signed Lou Merloni, Einar Diaz, Steve Karsay, Danny Graves (minor league deals/spring training invites) -Signed Jason Johnson for a year with an option for '07 Losses: -Kevin Millwood now with Rangers -Scott Elarton now with Royals -Bob Howry now with Cubs So right now, I'm predicting the opening day roster will look something like this: Rotation: C.C. Sabathia Jake Westbrook Cliff Lee Jason Johnson Paul Byrd Bullpen: Rafael Betancourt David Riske Arthur Rhodes Scott Sauerbeck Jason Davis Brian Tallet Closer: Bob Wickman 1B- Ben Broussard 2B- Ronnie Belliard, Ramon Vazquez SS- Jhonny Peralta, Brandon Phillips 3B- Aaron Boone LF- Coco Crisp CF- Grady Sizemore RF- Franklin Gutierrez, Casey Blake C- Victor Martinez, Josh Bard DH- Travis Hafner There's still a few "if's" with the Tribe though, one is whether Matt Miller's arm has recovered enough to get him an opening day spot in the bullpen. If it has, put him in Tallet's place. Also, nobody has picked up Jose Hernandez yet, if they re-sign him he's a great utility player who I'd put on the roster instead of Vazquez. And of course there's always the chance of a Spring Training invite showing enough promise to make the roster, so you might see Einar Diaz as backup catcher instead of Bard, etc. In case you haven't realized it already, I'm way obsessed with baseball, lol.
