  1. Heh, Renegade? Does this mean we might see Steel Stampede at Michigan's Adventure for 2008? (For those of you that don't know, Renegade and Steel Stampede were the other 2 proposed names for Storm Runner.)
  2. Is there a setting in phpBB that would require a certain number of posts before somebody can create a new thread? I know vBulletin has one but I've never used the phpBB software myself so I'm not sure. But all the spam posts I've seen have been new topics, not posted in existing ones. So even if it was as few as like, 5 posts before you can start a new topic, it would stop a lot of the spam, since to my knowledge these are automated bots doing it.
  3. I want a Vekoma cardboard box coaster!
  4. The first overbank on Millenium Force is pretty intense, I along with quite a few other people grey out on it...either that or riding Invertigo at PKI, going backwards through the loop in the last car. Raptor's helix was pretty intense the very first time I rode it in about 99, but since then I've never found it to be much of anything. Mantis also has some pretty strong Gs in the back car, enough to cause pain in the legs.
  5. Damn, watching you guys makes me feel like Mr. Awesome Bowler Person for having a 145 average.
  6. Intamin isn't really just one company in Switzerland that builds everything under the Intamin name anymore, for several years it's actually been made up of several subdivisions. IntaRide is their US division that builds rides. It's been around for a while but up until now all the rides they built just carried the standard Intamin AG name.
  7. LMAO!! James got on ARN&R! He runs Point Xtreme and created the Maverick Myspace (at least I think he did, it might've been someone else from their site). I went to high school with him.
  8. ^^ Judging from the look of the 2 horses, I think Intamin just went with that logo for Maverick so certain members of the horse community wouldn't cry racist. And after watching the POV, I really hope those trims on the hill right after the launch are only there for safety purposes...
  9. ^^Judging from the rendered pics, it looks like the WWL station building is going to be the entrance to the queue.
  10. They are claiming the "most coasters in one park" record again, at least according to the Sandusky Register/Plain Dealer articles. Which I feel is legitimate, SFMM hasn't been openly claiming the most coasters lately, and I think both parks don't really consider Flashback as something that counts anymore.
  11. Aren't the Aquatrax cars sort of like that anyway? I always thought the seats were supposed to simulate riding a jetski or something to that effect. And if that's the case, it'd be a piece of cake to theme to horses...I personally don't think it'll be an Aquatrax but just throwing my $.02 in.
  12. ^ It's a Schwarzkopf coaster that they went on, I think during the Japan trip. There's a POV of it up on the site somewhere... Ahh, here we go: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21321
  13. I think Doug said earlier that the stuff on the back of that truck was actually some big stacks of wood, although he may have been talking about the stuff under the blue tarp in the staging area, I'm not sure. But *GASP* that stuff's under BLACK tarps instead of blue ones! It must be something special. And since all the other tarps were blue, which is obviously a clue to water and an Aquatrax, this must not be related to the Aquatrax construction.
  14. Slingshots and Skycoasters. You will never EVER get me on one of those. Just the thought of being held up by a couple of cords...ugh. Same reason I'll never bungee jump. I wanna go skydiving though, interestingly enough. Drop towers...I do enjoy them. That doesn't mean they don't scare the crap out of me. Intamin ones (1st gens and gyro drops) usually aren't so bad because, at least with all the ones I've been on, they're on a timer. But S&S ones...sitting up at the top knowing that the ride op down at the bottom can push that button whenever they feel like it, it's unnerving. And lastly, sky rides, ferris wheels, and wave swingers. Mainly just because of how rickety/unsupported they are and feel like they're gonna collapse. Never even seen a Star Flyer in person but I'm willing to bet I wouldn't go on it.
  15. I...I don't know! AHHHHHHHHHHH! *falls from Bridge of Death*
  16. If you have the video America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills in 3D, there's an interview segment with Ron Toomer that shows some footage of that prototype Arrow Pipeline coaster.
  17. You know, it says on RCDB that they have 3 but after riding one I can tell you there's only 2, the initial one and the one after the helicopter shoots at you.
  18. Snoopy would annihilate the crap outta that girl from The Ring. No doubt about it.
  19. Actually I think they go back and fill in the space with a little extra concrete. I remember seeing that during the Tatsu construction.
  20. Hmm... www.cedarpoint.com watch the banner on the top and wait for Snoopy to come flying across. Looks like Duane from RCDB must be psychic with his "posting errors."
  21. And the fact that this is Myspace we're talking about here. Anyway, it doesn't seem to be working in my IE, but I always have troubles with Myspace in IE so it's most likely just me. Works fine in Firefox, no cropping but the video size is pretty small. Also, on the right of the video screen, there's a little thing that looks like ..> , which is probably supposed to be #>. Myspace changes # signs to 2 periods, I have no idea why, so it might cause some problems with the coding.
  22. Hmm, looks like the track's being carefully taken apart though, so maybe there's a chance another park will pick it up. -Anthony "Always sad to see a Schwarzkopf go " Staten
  23. ...Why have I never looked at these comics until now? This is great.
  24. I know during the conference call when CF bought the Paramount parks there was a discussion about a season pass valid at all of them...I'm wondering if it might just be an exception here because it's the only non-US park.
