My lineup now includes: Bones New Girl Big Bang Theory Elementary I'm on the fence about whether or not Revolution remains, but as of right now I'm watching it as well.

Are 2000 word essays normal now in High School? When I was in High School our (long) papers generally stayed right around 5 pages which would be in the 1200 word range. I don't think I ever wrote much more then that while I was in High School.

I wish I could be done with the NHL... But I'm going to be one of those idiots who comes crawling back to the league when this all ends.

The saddest thing is when I first saw the user name I was confused because I had never seen somebody claim to be a "caster" fan. My initial thought was the guy really liked coaster wheels. After the first sentence of the post, I was painfully aware that my initial impression couldn't have been much more wrong.

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
AllenA07 replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Ouch... Really... Ouch! Part of me hopes that the breathalyzer thing is true. Sure they have almost no reliability but still there is something so awesome about subjecting park goers to that. Alas, I'm guessing this is some weird PR thing which is never going to actually going to happen. -
If you know what you want then it isn't too fast. I (officially) got a place with my girlfriend after a little more then a year of dating. We were engaged about 3 months after that. Best of luck!

After looking at a friends pictures on facebook I mentioned to my wife that one of my "bucket list" items was someday to do a mud run, as my friends all seem to have a blast with them. This started an hours discussion on how we should be getting more exercise anyway and we have decided to start running. For both of us it has been a very long time since we last run. For me personally the last time I ran was when I was in the 10th grade for PE (12 years ago). We were already walking about 3 miles a night so we decided to work with that. We increased the walk to 3.5 miles, with a mile and a half of it being a jog. With so many of you here running marathons you can go ahead and laugh, but for somebody who has basically never attempted running before the mile and a half feels like a huge workout. After running that path the last two days my legs are pretty sore to say the least. I did sign up to do the 5k foam fest in early November. I figure having something to work towards will help provide some good motivation. No matter what happens, I'm happy that I will be able to knock something off the bucket list!

I've never really seen greed as an issue in sports like other people. It's a supply and demand issue. There is a demand for elite players and the market is going to determine their value. Not everybody can hit a baseball 450 feet and those who can have a certain amount of demand behind them, if an owner is willing to pay that amount for the player then so be it.

Bettman gets too much of the blame. He is simply the messanger for 30 other people.

The Official iPhone Discussion thread
AllenA07 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I think this entire Android vs. iPhone battle is something the boils down to the individual user. Personally I'm a bit of a self admitted Android fanboy. That being said however I recognize how much the iPhone has changed the industry. I'm not about to run out to buy an iPhone 5 (I love my Samsung S3) because it doesn't fit my needs. I like the bigger screen and the power to customize. Also as much as I like Android and what they're doing, I will be the first to tell you Apple is still light years ahead in the tablet market. I was the sad owner of three Asus Transformer Primes and had nothing but dissapointment from them. Since then I have purchased an iPad 3 and love the thing. Basically it is a to each his own situation. -
UCLA is ranked for the first time in 70+ weeks. That makes me both happy and sad at the same time.

The entire fair park area of Dallas is in a state of flux right now. Other then hosting the fair there they also have several major museums down there. The museums are all getting ready to move to a new location so suddenly there is going to be much less of a draw to fair park when the fair isn't underway. This project is an attempt to keep fair park relevant during the other 11 months of he year. I'm not at all surprised that this project has been pushed to basically start up right about the same time the museums shut down.

My biggest concern is the ending. I would have been pretty pleased with this ride had it included something more after that final hill considering how much space they had to work with. That being said, I think this looks like an interesting ride that I think people will end up enjoying. As I said before Mr. Freeze is great and that is the ride I find most similar to this.

I'm torn. One one hand I really think the thing looks like something that may be a let down. That said however, I love Mr. Freeze, and this looks like it should top that. Pretty sure that I'm going to have to wait and ride the thing before passing judgment. Six Flags needs a new video person, I really don't think the animation did this ride any favors.

Are you saying Windjammer wasn't a worthy replacement? I think taking out the Soap Box Racers was one of the bigger mistakes the park ever made. I always wondered if there was more to the story of why they were removed because people loved them. I couldn't agree more. As I've told people for a long time, Ghostrider circa 1999 is still my favorite wood coaster. It was really a fantastic ride!

So SFMM is going to be getting a launched coaster, that may contain multiple launches, it will have a good size loop, and it will make use of a tunnel... So the park is getting Speed: The Ride? I'll even add in that Full Throttle and Speed are not even really that different of names. Basically they are referring to the same thing.
