  1. I will be visiting the park in August and have booked a cheap motel right outside the park on Six Flags Drive (Sleep Inn) Is it easy to walk to the park from here does anyone know or is a car the best option? Thanks a lot.
  2. Yeah I went on the website at about five to ten and they'd all gone already, pretty annoying.
  3. That's exactly what we did this summer, a couple of hours in the morning at KI then off to Cedar Point. Worked really well.
  4. Is this an exact clone of the one down at Fiesta Texas? Looks like a pretty good addition, loving the colours!
  5. I went there on a Sumday in late august and the only big wait was justice league(when it works). Looks like the majority of the rides are at the one's you're aleady going to, but considering it's directly where you'd be driving(assuming you're using I-44), Id say go for it. You should stop, at least for a little while. Screamin' Eagle, Boss, and River King Mine Train are unique, and Ninja and American Thunder's clones aren't on your itinerary. That's five coasters there, plus Mr. Freeze and Batman are very good, and if you have time, they are worth it even if you've ridden them elsewhere. Thanks for the tips, we probably will stop for a few hours then.
  6. No midcourse brakes?? Picture taken from http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/theme-park-rangers-blog/os-hulk-roller-coaster-universal-20160204-story.html
  7. I am after a bit of advice please. I will be travelling through St Louis this summer between SDC and Holiday World and was wondering whether this park is worth a short visit? Bearing in mind that we are going to the two Texas Six Flags parks and SF Great America on the trip and some of the rides look pretty similar here. It would also have to be on a Saturday on August so I'm unsure if it's worth it really. Thanks a lot.
  8. Wow! some fantastic photos there. I absolutely loved this park when I visited last summer and can't wait to go back.
  9. I am lucky enough to be doing another big US road trip this summer. We will be starting in San Antonio and finishing in Chicago. The parks we will be going to on the trip are; SF Fiesta Texas SF Over Texas Silver Dollar City SF St Louis (maybe) Holiday World Kentucky Kingdom Cedar Point SF Great America Can't wait for it as apart from Cedar Point all of these parks will be new to us. I will probably get out to Cologne at some point to try Taron at Phantasialand and maybe Thorpe Park. I only live 15 minutes away but haven't been to the park for 4 years.
  10. Wow, looking great. I wonder why the straight section at the bottom of the drop.
  11. Green Lantern at Great Adventure for me, after the first drop that ride was just awful. The standup at Carowinds wasn't much fun either.
  12. Weird how people can have such different opinions, I thought Intimidatior was streets ahead of Diamondback, Nitro and Apollos Chariot. Possibly the smoothest coaster I've ridden and bags of airtime.
  13. Look how small Raptor looks! Photo taken from Cedar Points twitter page
  14. Intimidator at Carowinds Apollos Chariot, great fun and a great setting. Millenium Force, there aren't many coasters where often everybody has their hands up at the end. Cheetah Hunt Phoenix
  15. Absolutely loved Raptor when I visited this year, my favourite invert ahead of Montu and was actually one of my favourite coasters in the park behind Dragster and Maverick.
  16. We didn't process ours till August this year at Kings Dominion so I'm sure you'll be fine.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z155vq38Vcg Brilliant documentary about Fury here, some beautiful and unique shots in there too.
  18. It was absolutely dead when I went on a Saturday a couple of weeks back..
  19. Count me in as someone who really isn't bothered about counting credits. When I go to a new park I am more interested in re-riding the good coasters, rather than wasting my time queuing for a coaster i'm not bothered about riding just to up my coaster count. For example at Carowinds recently we skipped Carolina Cyclone and the Boomerang and rode Fury a load more times instead! A much more fun way to spend time at the park imo but each to their own.
  20. Pretty sure I remember seeing some construction workers working at the front of that building by Racers turnaround last week.
  21. I don't know why anyone ranks Intimidator at Carowinds very highly. It drags through the entire course, and the MCBR might as well be the end of the ride. The only B&M hyper I have experienced that is consistently exciting to the very end is Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia, with Diamondback at KI coming close to being as good. Both insanely more impressive than Intrimidator. Weird how people can have such different opinions. I rode Intimidator and then Diamondback only a few days apart recently and preferred Intimidator by a long distance. Didn't find it to be trimmed too badly and it had bags of that lovely B&M floater air. I'll admit that the section after the MCBR did feel a bit pointless though. Diamondback on the other hand I thought was pretty average and a bit of a let down tbh. Was expecting a lot more from it.
